Can’t say enough good things about Nick & Colleen. I always try and keep my business local so I gave Nick a try. My wife had a her wedding rings and family ring needing attention. We were quoted a price a few years back by another franchised jewelry store 60% higher than what Nick did the actual work for. The rings turned out amazing. My wife actually thought I bought her a larger diamond in her wedding ring.
I would highly recommend the store for the prompt service, quality of service and most of all their honesty

When we purchased my eternity wedding ring from Jewelers Row in downtown Chicago, the jeweler at the time told us I would not ever be able to resize the ring due to its design. Sadly, for the last year or so I wasn’t able to wear it as it no longer fit my ring finger and I was of the belief nothing could be done to make the ring larger. During a visit to Emerald Bay Jewelry I happened to mention this to Colleen and she suggested I bring it in. I am so very happy that I did. Colleen looked at the ring and said she was sure they could add a tiny piece to the band so it would once again fit my finger. She gave me an estimate and just as promised, two weeks later she called and said the ring was ready. It now fits perfectly and the tiny piece that was added to the ring blends right into the design and the actual cost was less than the estimate! My husband and I just love the personal service we receive whenever we are in the store and would highly recommend this business to everyone!

My girlfriend dropped off my Citizen Eco-​Drive Calibre watch to have a cracked crystal replaced. Over 2 weeks later (the watch guy was apparently on vacation) I got the watch back and it had been reassembled with the waterproof gasket half hanging out of the back plate, the watch had never been worked on prior to this other than a resize. I also noticed that the hands for the day of week didn’t seem to line up any more and I know they did prior to dropping off.
Upon returning the watch to have the gasket issue repaired she was questioned about the gasket with the employee stating that «they usually do not go in the back plate to replace the crystal on watches.»
My concern now is that the seal has been broken and the watch is no longer water resistant.
I will not be returning to this jeweler.

I have been holding onto one watch (Pulsar) with a broken band for a while, just being lazy not going somewhere to get it repaired. Well, recently I somehow managed to knock the pin out of another watch of mine. I took them both to a repair place in Hinsdale, IL. They were able to fix the one that the pin fell out of for 5 dollars, but the Pulsar watch’s band they said was not able to be repaired. They were friendly and seemed knowledgeable about getting a replacement band and bringing it back to them to put it on…
Well, upon going home and following their directions I found that a new band was going to cost way more than I would have thought… More than I wanted to pay for my work watch (it’s rather beat up).
I found Emerald Bay Jewelry & Designs through Unilocal actually. I drove by and just decided to see if they agreed with what I was told. Well, the woman working there told me the same thing the other store told me. EXCEPT, she said she could fix it. She said it would not be a perfect COSMETIC fix, but it would work. The woman went to work on my watch.
After 15 – 20 minutes she apologized for the time it took, saying it was harder to get the pin rigged in there than she thought. She handed the watch to me and pointed out where you could see the pin. This is my work watch, it’s beaten up — this fix seemed barely noticeable to me. She then charged me $ 1. Yes, ONE DOLLAR.
If you have something that needs to be fixed, I strongly suggest stopping here first.
Oh, and I got this repair a month or so back, and NO ONE HAS NOTICED where she fixed it.

I brought a watch to be resized and a watch to have a battery replaced. The people were friendly and the items were fixed right away. Both repairs took place in under 10 minutes and the price was about $ 7 for each. I hope they stay in business.

Stopped in to see if they could change my watch battery and they were able to. I have a wittnauer so not everywhere can change the battery for some reason. Best part was the battery was $ 7 instead of the $ 13+ I think I paid at sears last time. The woman who helped me was also very friendly. I would use them again and for other Jewelry purchases.

Emerald repaired my Celtic wedding ring and my Citizen watch, and did an excellent job with both. When they gave me a time and cost estimate for the watch repair, they were very accurate.
