Negative stars do not exist. My wife took her car in a 2013 Ford escape. It stalled in the driveway and would not start. WE had the car towed to Gordons. It took over a week. First, they said it was a $400 battery. Then they said the bill to repair her car would be $6000. They said the transmission leaked onto the computer module and everything needed to be replaced. The facts are, we had it towed to Ford. Gordons broke a part in the front of the car, installed the wrong battery, the transmission and computer modules are fine. Total cost to repair $300. We are hiring an attorney; I have used in the past and are seeking treble damages. Avoid GORDONS in Wauwatosa or risk the rip off.

Took my car in for emissions test and asked them to also check a noise coming from engine. They said I needed a belt, $ 150 later, got a new belt. The noise continued, went back and was told that I needed an AC belt tensioner, which I hesitantly went ahead with. A few days later the noise came back. Either they don’t know how to diagnose and repair car problems or they deliberately made a temporary fix and didn’t do what they charged me for.
It was my first time there and I was hoping they were honest so I could go back when I needed something. Unfortunately they are more interested in making quick money dishonestly than gaining trust and making long lasting relationships with customers.

I needed an emission test and I found Gordon’s does them while I was in the area. I called and asked if I could get one today and Eddie says come on over and we will do it while you wait.
I stopped by and Eddie asked for the keys and got me in right away. He didn’t try to sell me anything extra even though my SRS lamp is on, I will worry about that later.
The waiting room has magazines and a flat screen playing auto programs. There is a cichlids tank in the room and that was cool.
They had a problem with the tester and had to reboot the machine but I was done in less than 15 minutes and out the door and on my way.

I’ve used Gordons several times over the last few years. In some cases, they provided good timely service and a loaner. However, I feel like more recently their service has gotten more dishonest. On one occasion, I had them check the brakes on my car, which they told me were were in good condition. A week later I brought the car back in because the brakes still weren’t working and they told me the brakes were beyond worn. On another occasion, they replaced a part I had just replaced a month earlier. When this didn’t fix the issue, I brought the car back in and they fixed it correctly this time-​but still charged me full price even though they didn’t fix the issue the first time. I think I’ll be finding a new repair shop, they’ve done good work but I just don’t trust them.

Not the cheapest in town, but definitely can’t be beat when it comes to service. I come here when I need something done fast.

Beware the markup on parts. After taking my car here I thought the quote was high so I did some research. Expect to pay double at least what you should for the parts. I’m also inclined to believe that they might throw in some extra ‘repairs’ if you aren’t careful. I’ll put it this way: I was quoted over $ 2000 for some suspension work, a new steering pump, and tires. I went to another mechanic and was told I didn’t need one of the repairs and the prices I was given were less than the part costs here. Their tire prices are fair, that is about the only good thing I can. I have a feeling that they have been able to get away with some of the markup by having enough Brookfield customers where saying that this part cost so much because it is the best works. Again do your research on what things should cost and beware.
