The only reason I gave this four stars was because I wish their prices were just a little bit lower. But, let me tell you, if you’re going to spend that much money on a meal, this place can justify it! The food here is incredible and it’s a very well run place. The service is great(especially if you have Arnold) as you have two people attending every table during your meal. Their steak and scallops are ridiculously good. Also, if you’re in the mood for a quick fix, their burger one of the best I’ve ever had. They have a rewards program you can join for all of the Bartolotta restaurants and it’s nice to have when you can earn points so quickly during one meal. This is a place you go when you want to special something special or if you want to have a really nice date. You’ll leave completely stuffed full of great food.

I made a reservation for 2 people at 5 p.m. thru the OpenTable website and let them know in advance that it was for a birthday. When I got there the restaurant only had one table occupied. The hostess sat us in a dark corner, near an emergency exit, where the staff hangs out and talks. The entire restaurant was empty except for ONE table and she seated us at THE worst table in the restaurant. How very rude! I asked that we were moved to another table. The server was very gracious, I think her name was Alicia and the gentlemen who was her co-server was even nicer, I think his name was Ryan. Hopefully he was able to split the tip with the server as he did most of the work. The dinner was delicious. I had the Walleye with potatoes, arugula and lemon tarragon aioli. My guest had the steak salad. We also ordered a side of the morels and my guest had the soup du jour which was a roasted vegetable soup. All of the food was outstanding. We asked about a rose to drink with dinner and they only had one to choose from, even though they seemed to have an extensive wine menu. I would suggest for the summer months to add a few more. For the birthday treat they gave us a complimentary mini flan surrounded by fresh berries. I will come back again but I hope they replace the hostess with someone who cares about their customers enough to want them to return again. It isn’t always about the food. Service is a HUGE part of the dining experience for people who eat out regularly and recommend restaurants to their wide network of friends, co-workers and family members.

I LOVE Mr B’s!!! Wow for a quality steakhouse dinner destination that you can show up in plaid shorts and a polo on a Friday night 7:30?pm(not good) Where to begin, it is a beautiful Friday evening June 3. Sat at outside bar OVER12 minutes before leaving and ah humming MULTIPLE bartenders. Would have been nice a hello, an acknowledgment, let alone«sorry it will be a minute, here’s a menu» Response when I finally got up to go inside — oh, you wanted a drink??? Duhh!!! Anne is a terrific bartender and attentive part of the staff inside.(love her ninja knife skills!) As usual, everything is handled professionally inside. My one grievance there is why??? It is June 3, you serve an absolutely delectable piece of halibut with root vegetables common with a November thru March dish. $ 35 and I get roasted potatoes and carrots??? Where are the ramps, fiddle heads, morels, spring peas, spring micro greens, etc… ??? Chef REALLY needs to step it up! I AM a professional chef and I want blown away food that I try to replicate at home after I go out. Sorry, made this 8 years ago in LA!(btw fall time)! So MUCH potential, will keep coming back, but please make this great!

Recently went to Mr. B’s for probably the 5th time and it was great as usual. Most recently had the Bison Ribeye special and it was very good and very juicy, especially for a meat that typically gets dry easily. Never had an issue with service. If your looking for steak, the massive porterhouse is certainly the way to go. Only issue is some of the tables can be in an awkward or loud spot. Meets all expectations for a steakhouse looking to charge over $ 50 a steak.

A special night made very mediocre by the the staff at Mr. B’s. A 7:30 reservation that didn’t get seated until 8:10 and only after we had to remind hostess we were still in the bar waiting. The food was decent but again it took an unreasonably long time arrive. A close to 3 hour dining event that left us wondering if we will ever return to any Bartolatta venue in the future.

I travel a lot and am always on the lookout for a great meal. I love a good steak and had heard from hotel I was staying at this was supposed to be good. I checked some online reviews and had my concerns but went anyway. The bar was nice and the staff was good. Cozy and not too stiff of a place. I ordered a salad and a New York strip. The salad was the saltiest I had ever had and I could not finish. I took the blame because I asked for the ceasor dressing(too salty). I then recieved my steak now for a steak that is over $ 40 I expect a decent piece of meat. The steak was so tough the knife they gave me could barely cut through it. The manager had the kitchen make me another but by this time I had beeen there over 2 hours. The replacement steak was tender but salty, no better than any family chain restaurant. The management made no offer to buy me a drink or a desert for my trouble. If you want to pay for atmosphere and ok food than this is a good place but if you like really good food this is not the place.

We had two servers, Jeff and Arnold, and they were both phenomenal. They were both very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great steakhouse in the area and hope to return soon. Next time I’ll save room for dessert because they all looked amazing!

We enjoyed a celebratory dinner at Mr. B’s a little over a month ago and FINALLY I understood why so many people rave about the Bartolotta name. My previous visits to B-establishments could be filed under«average,» but Mr. B’s was incredible! Reservations were a breeze to make online, and I appreciated the e-mail reminder the day before our requested time. The staff in this location were stellar — from the hostess to coat check to servers to bar attendants. All around excellent, friendly people who made our visit memorable. Now the food — wow. The shrimp cocktail(4.5 stars) was delightful, with just enough of a slap in the face to let you know you’ve undertaken something delightful. Because we weren’t satisfied with just one option, the haystack onion rings(4 stars) were also added. Light(if you can call buttermilk«light») batter that didn’t fall off the onion with the first… or second bite. Now you know you’ve got a solid onion ring. I enjoyed the BLT wedge salad(5 stars), which provided a crisp, fresh follow-up to the onion rings. The Roth buttermilk blue cheese is what set this salad apart from other pretenders. My partner opted for the dinner portion of the special lobster macaroni and cheese(5 stars). Perfectly seasoned breadcrumb topping done just right, with plump chunks of lobster underneath. The dinner portion provided enough for another full meal the next night! The small sample I was able to have was delightful. I opted for one of the combos — a 6 oz. filet and two crab cakes(5 stars). The filet was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten and the crab cakes were the perfect accompaniment for the indecisive steak-house traveler. Cooked to perfection, the filet practically melted in my mouth; I added the brandy peppercorn sauce but barely touched the topping. It’s not that the sauce wasn’t tasty — the filet was simply perfect on its own. That said, I would return to try the other options I considered: Strauss Australian lamp chops, or the special-only South Dakota bison ribeye. Coolest part of the evening: Joe Bartolotta, in the flesh, walking around to each table to chat with the guests. This was a nice touch — he made the rounds to stop by each table and talked with every person dining in the restaurant. Mr. B seemed particularly intrigued by the lobster mac n’ cheese, not knowing it was on the specials list for the evening. That clearly shows he’s the type of guy to let his chefs and kitchen staff run the back of house and devise their own specials. Pretty cool to see! As if we did not eat enough, we followed dinner with the caramel apple crumble(5 stars): brown butter sauteed apples with a streusel topping and sea salt caramel ice cream topper. Wow — just incredible. Dining at Mr. B’s was a great experience and we will definitely return in the future!

This is one of my favorite places to get a nice steak — probably the best I’ve been to in the southeastern Wisconsin. The staff is very friendly, the steak(I always get the Filet Mignon) is always made just the way I like it, and the side of button mushrooms are to die for! Everything is seasoned very well and I am always excited to visit.

Another great experience for Valentine’s weekend. We started with oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and a great way to begin the meal. I had scallops and my boyfriend had the ribeye, which he stated was his new favorite. Puréed potatoes and French fries on the side were lovely. Nice cocktail, wine, and champagne selection — we tried a little of all three. Too full for dessert, but we watched some yummy concoctions pass by! Definitely a treat for special occasions. Service was a bit slower this time, but that is to be expected when every table was full.

Great Happy Hour! A few friends from work and I went on a Wednesday evening. $ 5 wine and discounted apps! The bar area is a great place to relax in the winter and the décor is cozy!

I’ve been here twice now. I was really excited because I thought a steakhouse in the Midwest would be the best. However, I wasn’t blown away by the food. I had a filet the first time and the meat was fine but it wasn’t as tasty as I thought it should be and it was ordered medium rare. The second time I had the Australian lobster tails which I didn’t realize are really just crayfish. However their raisin walnut bread is to die for and their baked potatoes with crusted salt on the outside are also equally as delicious.

Sunday, went for dinner at 5. Sat immediately and service was perfect Started with salads, hers beet and mine the spinach… bacon on anything omg, very good My lamb chops; three piece double ribs, absolutely superb. Her NY strip was excellent, and our shared Brussel sprouts were impecable, very slight char and no bitter edge On the downside, the shrimp cocktail while good, at four large bugs, not worth it; ambiance and crystal goblet and all The fries, eh, shoestring with little character. Overall an outstanding end to a nice day

Wasn’t thrilled about atmosphere, food or service. It was my husband and my first time experience at the restaurant we were seated at an entry room table, where new comers would stalk and comment on our food. My steak was unevenly and overly cooked and my husband’s wine wasn’t served before the meal. Our servers didn’t seem to talk to each other to know what was going on. The food runner dropped our food off without a server in vicinity and we received our check before we were done with dinner. Luckly for my husband and I, we enjoy each other’s company and can make a memorable evening from a less than fantastic dinner experience. Sorry Mr. B, we were anticipating something better.

Note: This review is late. I just joined Unilocal and the first place that came to mind was Mr B’s. I cant tell enough people to avoid this place. I was here about 1 year ago and the experience was terrible. Something about Bartolotta’s restaurants and their inept ability to follow thru with a reservation. We made reservations weeks ahead of time, but still had to wait 40 minutes for a table. Service was good to start. Server was prompt and polite. Then came the food: both our steaks were cooked to well-done, although we asked for medium rare. The potato and veggie sides were so over cooked they were literally inedible. They were tasteless and we were seriously unable to chew them. We sent back our food and were offered a $ 25 gift card in return. We still were required to pay for our entire bill. The couple sitting behind us could be heard complaining about their food too. I can not begin to tell you how much I despise this restaurant! I imagine the only people that feel this is a good steak house don’t get out much. This is located in rural area of Brookfield, so it is slim pickens I suppose. You’ve been warned!

Everything was outstanding as it always is! The first server had wonderful knowledge of the wine list and also the menu. The meatcart was enjoyed but the server brought it much more life and i felt as i actually learned a bit? We will be back! Thank you staff!

One of the worst«steakhouse» steaks I can remember having. Overpriced, bone dry, cooked unevenly(and overcooked) and too salty. I do have another, smaller gripe — and that is the knives. Granted it’s a pretty trivial thing, but for a reputable steakhouse, their steak knives were really, really dull. Coupled with my dry steak, I practically had to saw through it with my knife. The only thing making this two stars instead of one was relatively fast service(we arrived before the dinner rush) and decent appetizers. Learn how to cook a steak and we MIGHT be back. Otherwise, this place is a dud.

Sad to say, my last two visits in the past couple months have continued to make me think this restaurant is changing. The steaks are still quite good. Unlike some reviewers, I haven’t splurged for the Wagyu or other prime cuts because I don’t want to gamble that the quality is worth the money. Totally would make the splurge if the reviews were better on these steaks recently. Each time I come to this restaurant, I notice a change in the service. This last visit, our two servers were slow, completely impersonal and were clearly just doing what was required — and nothing more. They seemed better suited to waiting tables at an affordable family restaurant. I was surprised by how much this factor dampened our whole dining experience. Also, I love sides. The presentation of the sides has changed(plain ramekin for sauce, potato on main plate instead of cooked in its own little dish). Easier on the kitchen, sure, but less of a «wow» factor. It’s the service and the little touches that seem to be missing. Steaks and the other food I have tried are still very tasty.

On my first visit, I was not very impressed with the place. However on my last visit, I have to give them 5 stars. Thankfully we were a bigger group, so we were seated at a round table. My negative comment about Mr. B’s is that they have these strangely small tables for couples that are way to close to each other and you feel so uncomfortable seated at them. Oh and the meat cart is werid. However lets get to the food. The drinks were as always, delicious. The food was phenomenal. We had oysters to start which tasted fresh. The onion haystack which was nicely fried, not too greasy. Our entire table ordered steaks, they all came out as ordered. I had a lovely ribeye which was beatifully marbled througout. The sides were also fantastic, brussel spouts, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. Ultimately, we had a fantastic dinner and the service was attentive. It is never a cheap meal when all is said and done, but it’s always a great place to have a special dinner and not worry about how your steak comes out.
