Pretty sure the workers are so spaced out they forget where they work. Friend ordered a raspberry white hot chocolate and they had no idea what she was talking about. I ordered a frappé and he said it would take a while. 10 – 15 minutes. Friend behind me ordered one and got it right away. Staff behind the counter are wearing street clothes and don’t even look like they belong here. Ice cream’s ok.

I’ve been going to JP Licks my whole life, it’ll always be my favorite ice cream spot. There are locations all over Boston; Newton, Brookline, Boston. Best thing on the menu: rainbow sprinkles!

When I pay over five dollars for a cup of ice cream I want to taste the flavor of the ice cream I have chosen. If that makes me a bad person or a picky person — so be it. Look, I really want to like JP Licks because it’s the nearest ice cream store to my home. They have amazing butterscotch sauce which is one of my addictions. They also have a really good espresso. But all too often when I get ice cream it tastes like some other flavor — why is that? They don’t wash their scoops well enough? They keep things too close to each other? I don’t know. But it really bums me out when coffee ice cream taste like mint. And other abominations. Just sayin’ — fabulous flavors should taste like themselves– not like their neighbors. And this happens often enough that I am sticking to Toscaninis from now on.

Amazing ice cream, coffee, and desserts! The only downside I see is the price.

JP Licks has great flavors. I love the hard yogurt, usually get the cookies and cream or chocolate chip. This summer the Pineapple Sherbet was refreshing, very good fruit flavor. Sometimes there is ice in the cookies and cream(never the choco chip), just to let you know. Yes, the ice cream is pricey but what your getting is good. I have to say I find their staff to be really nice, very friendly, helpful and just wanted to tell you so.

Three stars for the ice cream, minus two for the price. I have decided to end my visits because the small – which has turned into a kiddie cone– is $ 4.50. Very pricey compared to other places, and quality difference isn’t there, In my N-S-H Opinion.

Very consistent ice cream. The coffee and cookies and cream is amazing. Definitely my go to place for ice cream in the summer. I can’t wait to try the other flavors.

I won a Cow Card(Gift Card) with $ 10 on it, and I signed up on the website to activate my card, which got me a free coffee, and free small birthday sundae. I’m lactose intolerant and am so glad they have dairy free flavors! They also have dairy free sherbet and sorbet, but I prefer a creamy frozen dessert. Each month they have new flavors, and when I went, I got a Cookies and Cream(made from Hemp Milk) and it was pretty close to the real thing. The color of the«cream» base was green, but nonetheless it tasted really good! It was sweeter than I expected but that could have been from the toppings. Along with the ‘ice cream’ I got mango chunks, strawberries, coconut flakes, and chocolate jimmies with my free birthday sundae. Surprisingly the topping combination tasted pretty good together. I expected the strawberries to be fresh, but it was strawberries in syrup, it still was good though.

The ice cream is a bit on the pricey side, but it is very good! The peanut butter cookies and cream was absolutely perfect. I’d highly recommend! They have a great mix of flavors and toppings. Certain flavors are seasonal, so check those out while they are there! Definitely some of the best ice cream I have ever had

If you’re looking for a simple no frills treat with lots of flavor, JP Licks is great for you. If you want a fully pimped out ice cream or sundae with a cherry on top — you’re in the right place. JP Licks is my fave ice cream place in Boston! My roommates and I used to come here 1 – 3 times a month. Love that they have a Flavors of the Month menu — you’ll never get bored. My fave flavor is the coffee cookies n’ cream(used to be called the coffee oreo). I’m obsessed with it because 1. The coffee flavor rocks 2. The cookie consistency is to die for! Perfect cookie to ice cream ratio — big cookie bits that you can taste! Hellish for my belly but who cares when it’s so heavenly for my mouth! I’ve tried a ton of flavors and they have a really solid ice cream menu and the portions are generous. Totally worth spending your money here! Staff are usually super friendly and attentive. If you’re stuffed from a meal but want dessert, go for the kiddie option.

I’ve been here probably too many times. My friends are regulars at buying pints and I’ve also bought an ice cream pie/birthday cake from here recently. Service is typically really great – when I ordered the pie/cake thing I got my girlfriend’s age wrong(I know… GF of the year) but called back the next day when I realized my mistake. The woman I talked to told me it was no problem and had the cake fixed for me – although I still had to come clean about my error since I wrote it wrong in the card I got her too… kinda funny, right? So I thought. Anyway – the ice cream from here is really great. They used to have my favorite flavor Chocolate Fudge Brownie(if I remember correctly, circa 2013) that now seems to have been replaced by Brownie Batter. It’s really good and essentially the same thing, but I thought I remembered the brownie pieces being bigger. I really, really wish they’d expand their hard frozen yogurt selection. Having switched from ice cream to froyo recently, I long for chocolate fudge brownie or cookie dough but have to settle for their Chocolate Chip Cookie hard frozen yogurt, a vanilla based froyo with lumps of crumbled chocolate chip cookie. It’s good, but not as good as chocolate frozen yogurt or chunks of brownie/cookie dough! JP Licks, please, please make a chocolate-based hard frozen yogurt option!

Good ice cream! I loved the flavor selection and the fact that they open late. Nothing was overbearing and all the flavors were just right. I hate when it’s too much of a good thing and you get flavor overload.

Came here for dessert after shabu! What a treat! Very good ice cream flavors. I ordered myself a cookies n coffee ice cream in a cake cone. Perfect amount of cookies with a «real» tasting coffee base. I would definitely come back to try other flavors!

The best sorbet I have ever had in my life: Chocolate candy cane! You need to go here and try this immediately. It was sorbet creamy to perfection, and infused with such distinct flavor. The chocolate was rich, but just rich enough where it didn’t overwhelm. The candy cane was almost like a swirl of heaven surrounding and melting into every bite. Every spoonful amounted to a deliciously blended taste of exactly the kind of dessert that brings a delighted smile to your face.

Annnnnd the soymilk is back! I have no idea what happened there. Maybe there was just a long string of employees who didn’t know what was up? Anyway, I asked, they said yes this time, and I’m super stoked. It isn’t on the board anymore, but I take that to mean they just aren’t charging more for it, which would awesome! So yeah. JP Licks: good coffee, cocoa, etc. Really good vegan ice cream when the almond/chocolate ones roll around(coconut almond lace, mocha almond). Plain cones are vegan, «oreos» are not vegan, sprinkles are dubiously«vegan,» and there’s plenty of nuts and berry toppings. You can get detailed lists of ingredients for EVERYTHING on their website, which is a degree of transparency I really appreciate.

I love JP Licks and I think they have some of the best ice cream I have tasted. I came to this location for the first time yesterday and the service left a lot to be desired. The girl helping us had such a sour attitude. To make things worse, the medium portion she gave me was so stingy it looked like a child’s size. It did not look like the medium I get at their other locations. It’s too bad the service was bad because the store was nice and big with lots of seating. I probably will drive extra and go to another location rather than coming here again.

I sprung for the caffeinated mocha chip in a cup, one of the monthly specials(hard scooped ice cream). My aunts brownie batter was loaded with chunks of chocolate, and my cousins cookie dough was equally as enjoyable. Flavors change by season and month. Also offering milkshakes, drinks, smoothies, and a small selection of pastries and bakery items I would love to come back and support this small chain! A little pricey, but worth the quality. A small was almost too much for me, they don’t skimp on packing the cup!

This is turning into my go to spot for late night summer festivities. I absolutely love that they are open until midnight every night, perfect for the locals in the area. If the line is long it’s worth the wait, just talk to your friends or enjoy the art on the walls. As far as the ice cream goes they gave so many floors and they are always changing the seasonal ones! The real treats are found there. I’ve always been able to find a table or you can also enjoy the outdoors there’s usually many benches outside on Harvard St.

We live down the street and have been here a few times now. Everything is really great, from the ice cream to the cakes. The line can be a little crazy long on the weekends and the prices are pretty high, but the ice cream is some of the best I’ve ever had. You get what you pay for here!
