We were looking for a place open past 10:30pm and this was one of the few places open. The place was clean and used the green box(eco friendly pizza box). I had the special slice of the week and the slice of the month. The som was really good and sow was ok. I would have given a higher rating but I didn’t like the crust of the pizza which was hard as a rock.

I have been sampling all of Boston’s pizza since moving here from NJ six months ago. And not only NJ, but Trenton NJ: home of some of this country’ s best pizza. The Upper Crust Pizzeria serves a thin crust pizza that rivals, dare I say surpasses, Trenton’s pizza crown. NJ’s famed DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies could learn a thing or two from Boston’s The Upper Crust. Perfection.

Have been coming here since college! If you order the mini calzone they are super small, so you may need to order 2 or 3 and they are amazing! Fast, great service, and amazing food!

I wish I could say good things because the customer service was great. Received a calzone via delivery and it was soggy from the sauce spilling all over the box. While the delivery was on time the food was not edible. And since when is a calzone this small for $ 13? It’s really a Stromboli rather than a calzone based on definition.

Best thin crust pizza I’ve ever eaten !!! Especially when it’s fresh out the oven. I absolutely love the flavor of the sauce && the fact that they have great staff && a variety to order from makes me excited to come back

Harvard Ave. location is awesome. The people who work there are friendly and our food always comes away pretty quick. I’m not typically a fan of thin crust pizza, but love it here. Crispy crust and delish toppings, you can’t go wrong. Also love that I can have a beer while I wait for take out or to enjoy there if I eat in.

Was treated horribly by one of the waitstaff guys. He first yelled at us for pulling up a chair to a table, then we decided to move to another table once the people left so we all had more room to spread out(came here with a big group so we were bringing in $$ for them) & he came over & was even harsher telling us «we can’t have you guys doing this just moving tables all over and disrupting the way we do things.» He was very rude, very nasty, even when we apologized he was like«well you’re inconveniencing us.» If we hadn’t already paid for the pizza at the counter we would have left. And then the pizza came out and we found hair in the pizza. We told them about the hair and they were again very nasty. The manager was extremely rude and disrespectful. Eventually he refunded our order but not without giving us a hard time about it! If I could give 0 stars I would. Never going back here.

Even though I go to and order from a lot of restaurants in the Brookline, Brighton, Boston area, this is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a Unilocal review. I’ve lived in the area for 16 years and have ordered delivery from the Upper Crust in Coolidge Corner on and off for many years. The pizza is pretty good– but only when they deliver it hot, which is not often. As many other reviewers have said, our pizza arrived tonight stone cold. We were told it would take 45 min to 1 hour to deliver which we were ok with. But then when it was at the 1 hr 30 min mark we called. We were told the woman who was going to deliver it just walked back in to Upper Crust to pick up the next delivery(ours) so it would be there in 10 minutes(we live a mile away). But then 1 min later after we hung up, it arrived, delivered by a man. That tells me that either they were lying to appease us or have no idea what’s going on with their delivery system. Our pizza was soggy and completely cold. My guess is that it had been sitting in a cold delivery car, not in an insulated bag, for well over a half hour. We had to microwave it to eat it. So disappointing. We’ve had the same experience before with the Upper Crust in Coolidge Corner and took a break from ordering from them. We tried them again, gave them a THIRD chance actually, and this will be the LAST time. We will never order from them again. It’s really a shame.

This pizza has become part of my weekly diet. I order there at least once a week, if not more. The staff all recognize me and I’m really close to finally start reaping the benefits of my rewards points lol. The boston strong is great(cheese, bacon, ranch, and chicken), but I often go for a tIMELESS cheese pizza with basil. This place is an underrated treasure.

Years ago this place was awesome, now it is overpriced, bad burnt pizza. And I hear the owner is an ass. No thank you.

Pizza is the perfect thickness for thin crust pizza with high quality ingredients. Come by regularly to get one of their large custom slices of the day or month. Slice combinations are always tempting. Definitely the more traditional pizza crust taste. Cannot eat the the cheap rubber chain pizzas anymore.

Any pizza place I order from I get a basic pepperoni with extra cheese to test whether or not I will come back and try their specialty pizzas. Upper crust did not pass that test. The pizza a nice thin crust, but the dough was too soft and just the taste in general tasted like store bought tomato sauce and generic cheese. The chicken Caesar salad is also basic, but more satisfying than the pizza. Delivery was surprisingly fast, but at such a high cost, Upper Crust will not be seeing me as a returning customer.

The place is very unassuming, a few tables and the kitchen taking up half the square footage!!! The service was great, I had to stop ordering because all the suggestions were legit, all bought and all delicious. You have to get the spinach squares — they are gooey hot and so good. We got calzones and lasagna for main dishes– while both good– calzones were the clear winner. We are having the leftovers later and am looking forward to that! Beers available and the ones on tap are worth your time(and afternoon!)

Great name for a pizza shop. Individual pizzas have designer names, too. But… Margherita pizza equals cheese pizza at UC. No basil? Haven’t they heard that Queen Margherita liked pizza in the red, green and white colors of the Italian flag? Upper Crust begins to sound not so upper. The Harvard Street: fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, fresh garlic, and sliced tomato. Basil was mixed with cheaper cilantro. Underneath the white mozzarella was a layer of mystery yellow cheese. Upper crust not feeling even middling now. I worry that a place that doctors the basil will water the wine. Another time we ordered the Fenway for take-out. They lost our order. By the time we got home, it was stone cold. Upper is now lower. Wait staff in B’line tends to hustle, with all the pluses and minuses that implies.

I come here when I have a a craving for great pizza, the owner and the staff are great. Quick and informative about a customer point card which you get in your emails. I’ve tried all the calzones and my favorite has to be Tomato and Spinach, but they have Buffalo and three to four cheese. It’s also a great price too at only five bucks. This place is always clean and you can watch them make your pizza. Five Stars for me

A good place to grab a quick slice, but don’t expect polite service from the manager(at least, that’s what I presume he is) behind the counter. My own encounter was relatively fine(it mostly just felt like he was doing me a huge favor by taking my order), but in the meantime, I’ve watched him yell at and belittle one of the cooks and be very patronizing to multiple customers who had questions about delays and mistakes in their orders(which seemed to stem at least partially from order-taking, rather than just the kitchen). The younger guy behind the counter was always very polite to customers when clarifying an order, etc. In short: high prices for the service and pizza that is decent, but not enough to make up for the above.

The Upper Crust is a Coolidge Corner staple and if you’re going to another pizza place in the area, you’re doing it wrong. The pizza and ingredients are always super fresh, you don’t smell like fried things when you leave, and everyone is super friendly and dedicated to making sure you’re happy. Plus, they have beer! Besides the pizza, I’m a big fan of the buffalo chicken mini calzone and cheesy bread. Recently, when my boyfriend graduated, they made me a pizza that said CONGRATS in pepperoni. NEED I SAYMORE? The best.

This was always the place to hit after a night of excessive drinking. Like, right around the time you can start keeping food down… when you start remembering how you stood up on the chair at the sushi place and sang(shrieked) Whitesnake karaōke. Yeah, Whitesnake rulez with a «z». So does Upper Cruzt. It used to be better, but it’s still good. Hot, crispy, huge, delicious slices with a little extra parmesan from the shaker and you’ll be ready to tackle some big boy stuff like Def Leppard. I’ve never ordered out, I always eat at the restaurant– so I can’t speak to the quality or condition of delivery. When you rock as hard as I like to rock, you gotta get out of the house and live loud. Leave the delivery for Daughtry… or whomever. There always seems to be one or two REALLY obnoxious kids in here with very passive, inattentive parents whenever I go. Totally not rock and roll. I have a headache. Control your children.

I can’t believe this place has not great reviews. Delivery takes a while, but I’m such a fan of the pizza– they really get thin crust. So much more delicious toppings. So little time. Thin crust isn’t that easy to come by in Boston… I found a winner here. I ordered the chicken fajita pizza. Came with olives which seems strange but it was delicious. win.

Liked the ambiance of the place. The pizza was flavorful and service was quick! I did go at an odd time though, late dinner on a working day. I am however writing this review for the Washington State Riesling wine I had there. Great wine collection and definitely the best Riesling I have had.

The first time i had upper crust was when I was in the Key West about 10 years ago. Ever since then I flock to it. Unfortunately for me, but foruntate for this UCP, Greg’s apartment is about a 10 min walk to here. I had the coolidge corner one last weekend and it was amazing as ever. I got two slices, and they had me wait for them to come out of the oven(thank gawwwd… so fresh). The crust was surely woodfired and a little burnt/crisp, but in the most perfect satisfying way. The slices were MASSIVE and seasoned just well. Being a frequent UPC visitor around the country, I would highly suggest getting slices from here, althoguh I have never had a full pizza, they just seem like the«Slice» type of a place. This UPC is trendy, and you can watch them making/rolling all the pizzas out from the street! The servers were all really friendly, funny, and seemed to really enjoy their job. There isn’t much sitting room, but its great for takeout back to your apartment(and they deliver!!!). This will be a very dangerous stop for Gster and I.

The name says it all, legit! I’m a born and bred New Yorker, and Upper Crust Pizzeria is definitely some of the best, highest quality pizza I’ve had in a long time. I was in Coolidge Corner with my friend doing some shopping, and I needed a quick bite to eat. My go-to is always pizza, and as per my friend’s recommendation, we came into Upper Crust. I got the combo deal, which was one slice of cheese and a salad. The Caesar Salad was pretty basic, but it hit the spot. What I really came here for was the pizza, and my goodness gracious, this pizza was effing DELISH! It was a thin slice piece of heaven, no joke. The crust was crispy, the sauce was light but flavorful, and my slice was big! For $ 7.95, this was an amazing deal! The next time I’m in Coolidge Corner, I will be sure to stop in and get my fix!
