Worst office staff imaginable. They do not know how to answer the phones, and when they do they are incompetent to make appointments for you. I waited 6 mos for a yearly physical and to become Dr Erler’s patient. Call that morning to confirm and they say I am not on the list and he is not accepting new patients. OK, now I am getting upset. What do I do now? I ask if he can make an exception as my entire family goes to him. The receptionist says simply –NO.Recently we were told Dr Erler is leaving the practice, we asked for my husbands records to be copied so he can move on elsewhere. The records were supposed to be copied and ready for pickup up two weeks ago. When he goes in to ask for them they snap at him and tell him they will have them ready when they can. We tell everyone to stay clear of this office/practice as they are not caring professionals. My husband has been a patient of Dr Erler’s, we even had our sons go to him. He does not tell anyone he is leaving that practice until my husband goes in for his yearly physical, which they did not remind him of. Dr Erler never even asked him how he is feeling. All he wanted to discuss is his own move to another location/practice. Good riddance. You would think that the doctor’s would care enough to hear the complaints about their staff and make changes. But, then again maybe they are as surly as their staff is?

I have to say that I love having Dr. Viola as my doctor. He is a good and through physician, and he is also a great person to talk to. I highly recommend him. His staff is a little rough around the edges… someone really ought to teach them a little about customer service.

Alright, so this review is coming pretty late, considering that the incident that’s caused me to update my review from 4 stars to 1 happened about 6 months ago. It’s still fresh in my mind, and I’d like to take this opportunity to warn people who may be thinking of coming here for primary care. About 6 months ago I had a small medical«emergency» that didn’t require a trip to the ER, but I wanted to get it taken care of right away. Full disclosure: I had a UTI, which scared me because about 6 months prior to that, I had had a kidney infection that left me in the hospital for about 3 days. I wasn’t taking any chances this time around. I called Dr. Viola’s office to see if there was any way I could be seen that day for a test/prescription. Thankfully there was a doctor who would see me, which was awesome because hey, Friday afternoon. Who wants to wait around for a last-minute appointment? I thought that was cool, and it didn’t take me very long to get to the office. However, this is where it gets tricky. I checked in, and in my previous review I mentioned that the reception staff is not super-friendly. This time, however, they went over the line. The receptionist who checked me in, after getting my name, SHOUTED to the other receptionist(with a waiting room full of patients, mind you),“Oh, this is for the UTI test!“ Wha-wha-WHAAAAAT? Uh, hello, HIPAA violation?! Oh hell no. I stood there in shock, and when I think back to the incident, sometimes I wish I’d gone off on those two busybodies. I work in healthcare, and you do not pull this isht on patients. Do people even read those HIPAA guidelines? Apparently not. I was so angry and disgusted(not to mention humiliated) with how I was treated, but I decided that I’d just get my test, take my prescription and GTFO, so that’s what I did. I haven’t gone back since. If you want your confidentiality to be respected, don’t come here. It’s a shame that I had to stop coming here, because I thought Dr. Viola was a decent guy, but his receptionists are absolutely awful and insensitive. Patients deserve much better than that.
