Looks like a typical Brooklyn Bodega from the outside, walk past the cigarettes and beer upfront and there is a small seating area with 4 tiny tables and they grill for you lamb, chicken and beef kebabs, as well as burgers and a variety of club sandwiches. $ 3.50 buys you a sub stuffed with grilled lamb meat, tomato, lettuce and white sauce. My boy and I come here sometimes for a cheap yet serious grilled food. We each get a sub and a soda and together our bill comes to $ 9.00. the place is kind of grimy, but they are open 24⁄7 and the lamb sandwiches are better than any other place that charge triple the price.

Walk past the convenience store, typical of all in the city, all the way to the back, where a relic of the past exists. The food is of course nothing special, and never was at this type of lunch counter, but you come here for the«ambience» and the fact that you can have a decent frozen hamburger patty grilled and put on a cheap bun at any time of night. There are six bar stools, and a couple tables confined to an area with brick-veneered half walls. The cooks where paper hats and white aprons, and absolutely everything comes out of the freezer and goes straight to the grill or fryer. The motto of this place should be: «From frozen to fresh in five minutes.» The few people that usually are here keep their eyes fixed on the TV with lottery results. The place is always welcoming of me, so I do not think it is any neighborhood secret, but somehow it still feels that way. I hope it never changes. $ 5.99 will buy the cheeseburger deluxe plate, with the works and a ton of fries.
