One of the first times I stopped here, they were selling $ 30 single 12 oz. bottles of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout about nine months after they were released. The owner said he bought the case at $ 28/bottle. That about sums up my experiences here. I’ve returned a few times just out of curiosity and regretted it due to the cost. The selection is good though, and the growlers aren’t a bad deal.

I go here every once in a while because this place is on my way. The beer selection is good for the size of the store but like everybody else said, their prices are way too high. The upside though is that since they over charge here so much some beers that are hard to come by tend to stay on the shelves longer than they do at other places. Also, one of the guys that works here lies about what they’re getting in stock so you’ll come back which is not a good way to do business if you ask me. Anyway, if you’re willing to pay more for something they might have it here… like bourbon county because they charge like $ 14 a bottle haha

This place looks like a bodega but it’s nothing but beer. The selection is huge and they definitely carry a lot of hard to find breweries/beers. The downside is that it’s just there, nothing’s organized and frankly a lot of the beers are old-and not ones that should be cellared/aged. Also, you know how you go to a cart or an old school food truck and there’s no price, basically they take a look at you and determine if you’ll shell out whatever price they say. This place is like that-and then he says theres a minimum for credit card use.

Like others have said, this place has some really cool beers but it doesn’t matter because they overcharge on all of them. They don’t label the prices– which benefits their customers in no way. Owner was friendly enough but they know what they are doing — I won’t be back, too many good options in the hood

Good selection of beer, ridiculously overpriced.

Good beer. Cool owners. Way overpriced. Been here 3 times. Just paid $ 6 for 2 Lagunitas Maximus. I’m done with this place. Just when you think something good is happening in the hood… we are mistaken. Owner told me they pay $ 5,500/month on rent. No wonder the mark up.

Good beer selection for immediate neighborhood but at ungodly prices. And most of it is unmarked, so you grab a bottle of Chimay thinking it can’t be more than $ 15 and find out it’s(no joke) $ 23 at the register. Head over to Whole Foods on 3rd and 3rd for better selection and reasonable pricing.

Okay, let’s start with the good: This place has a great beer selection, rivaling Bierkraft up on 5th Ave, although nobody can touch Eagle further down on 5th. Anyway, this guy does have a great selection of uncommon and fancy beers. The store is clean and well organized. The guy who runs the place is friendly and likes to «talk beer». They also have 4 beers on tap for growler fills. Growler fills at my time of visit ranged from $ 11-$ 14 with Blue Point at the bottom end and a very tasty Weyerbacher pumpkin/chocolate stout sitting at $ 14. He poured me a solid 4oz sample, so that was nice. Now for the bad: Can we say«MARKUP»??? Wow, this stuff is waaayyyy overpriced. As a guy who loves fancy beer, I don’t mind spending the cash on a good find, but this place adds an additional 40−50% to typical NYC(!!!) retail prices. It’s absurd, and there’s no excuse for it. I walked in today, begrudgingly, but with a beerless fridge and thinking, «there’s no way this guy stuck to his opening week markup». Well fool me twice, shame on me :(. This is a terribly tragic flaw for a lovely store that would otherwise be a weekly visit. Out.
