Big Brothers Discount Hardware & Appliance

This local hardware store has been my go-​to place for home improvement items for years. They were here before Home Depot came to my area, so I go to them first as a loyal patron. The bonuses are that they’re walking distance from me and they’re open seven days a week.
They keep stock of almost everything you need for the home. You can’t trick them, either. They manage to keep almost every item in stock. Just ask and one of the men will find it.
And they’re great at supplying items that are needed for the seasons. They stock up on ice melter during the winter, cooling items for the summer and Avon skin care for… okay, I don’t know why they sell Avon, but it apparently sells well for them.
If you live in the vicinity, support this local business. They’re good people who give great customer service.

This place always come through. You need keys… they’ll cut ‘em. You need mouse traps… they got ‘em. Need a grill for the park… do you need lighter fluid with that? Etc, etc. Yeah, its kinda messy at first sight, but its an organized confusion that I totally get. With all the changes in the neighborhood its good to know that this long-​time business is still around and dependable whether you need small home stuff or hard core plumbing and the like. I’m always down to support them.

Ever since moving to the neighborhood a year ago, I’ve been a big fan of this place. The prices are reasonable, they have a lot of stuff in stock and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They never try to upsell you either, which is nice.

Five stars because this hardware store was the only place open early on a Sunday morning (emergencies happen!) and the man behind the counter offered some really good advice to help with my problem – and they take debit/​credit with no limit! Thank you for saving the day!

Although not as big as the large hardware store right in front of it on the other side of Fulton St., this one is still well stocked. I was able to find here some electric plugs that the other place didn’t have.
Good to have options!
