Nothing special chinese food. Your typical Brooklyn chinese takeout spot. It’s on the list but something that easily can be replaced if something better opens up in the neighborhood. Im a szcheuan beef guy, and their beef is never chewy/tough/overcooked. So that has its perks. But their spicy food could be spicier and more flavor overall in everything else.

Ordered mei fun with chicken. Chicken was raw and fatty called to complain and was told we don’t use white chicken and hung up on. Been a customer for 5 years !!!

Big chef’s food is either a hit or miss. Usually a miss. You never know what to expect. Lots of times the rice comes very mushy and alot of the stuff is oily. Especially their egg rolls! There’s like 2 ounces of oil at the bottom of the bag. Gross! The woman owner who answers the phone is the rudest person u can imagine. It’s laughable. They forget parts of your order and then either tell U they didn’t charge U for it, try not to bring it to U, or take forever to bring it. I order from here because it’s usually my only option for a decently clean, local, cheap, fresh chinese food meal, but id order elsewhere if I had a better option.

Big Chef definitely stepped up their game since the last reviewer. This place is now New Big Chef and the food is great! Anything I’ve ordered from here was always tasty. The sweet and sour chicken was made from white meat which is rare these days and their rice is a fragrant jasmine I think. This is the only Chinese take out I will order in the marine park area.

Hmm, there are better local Chinese takeouts around now. In comparison, Big Chef gets a 3.
