First off, to everybody who is reading this, THEYDONOTMAKETHEIRBREADPRODUCTS!!! I was lied to as well as MANYOFOTHER people without a doubt. When I asked them if they make their bread, they said yes… yet I saw their worker walk over to Stella Di Sicilia Bakery on/at the Montrose Avenue train stop and buy about 10 – 14 of their rolls. Your name is «Bread Brothers… yet you falsely claim you make your bread yet buy it from a bakery? If you want a superb, delicious sandwich at a fraction of the average cost, just go to Stella Do Sicilia Bakery . 2nd…their lox cream cheese was good, and that roll, that is made off premises, the cream went on? FREAKINGAMAZING. So yea… dishonest businesses like yours shouldn’t be in our neighborhood. Thanks but no thanks

I came in to this café for bagels around 7 pm because the other bagel stores i was visiting was surprisingly not open! Anyway, their bagels were mediocre at most, but they do offer a wide variety of cream cheese options. The staff is pretty nice too. However, I wouldn’t come back for bagels because there certainly are better options when it comes to bagels in NYC!

If it weren’t for the fact that it’s conveniently located on the same block as my apt, I would never go back to this establishment. The owner is very rude… I’ve seen him demean and yell at his employees on several occasions, which can explain why the employees usually look miserable. The bagels are pretty good, but far from the best Brooklyn /NYC has to offer… and certainly not good enough to look past the fact that the owner is an a-hole.

Food is ok but the people that work there are RUDE. That is a clear indication of poor management. If you can’t teach your employees that the customer matters then you likely aren’t teaching them proper hygiene or how to properly clean the kitchen either. Just seems like a basic part of running a food service is to make the customer feel like they made a good choice choosing your restaurant. Whether I call on the phone or go in person, they seem to just really despise being bothered. Find another spot, I say. I have.

Been here several times now because it’s just down the block. Even though it’s convenient I won’t bother going back. Some of the worst service I’ve had in the area and mediocre food to go with it.

Never call this place again, worst service ever(especially the guy that answer on phone that will recognize himself) and food is crap

Solid bagels, reasonable prices(although the Lox are on the pricey side), conveniently located at the Montrose stop. Love the Cucumber-Dill cream cheese and the Proscuitto-Egg-and-Cheese. But what really separates this place for me are the guys working behind the counter — not only did they remember my name after ONE visit, he remembered my order and the not-at-all unusual extras I had. I would’ve been impressed even if I came asking for something bizarre, if he remembered me because I asked for a croissant chopped up with egg on a salt bagel. But to remember«hot-sauce, ketchup, extra pepper» after one visit? Nuts. And the kind of gesture that makes a serious repeat customer.

Bagels are ok, service is terrible. They take a long time to prepare your order, the staff is excessively rude and its over priced.

I must hate myself because I keep going back to this place. I have NEVER had a good experience. Over an hour and a half to deliver a bagel sandwich and they didn’t even add the cheese I paid for. Going in is no better, it’s like the blind leading the blind in there.

Nice bagel place, conveniently located next to the L train off the Montrose Avenue station. The morning team here is good; efficient, fast, and sometimes even fun and joking. I usually get a sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel, which I asked to have«scooped». They scoop out some of the bread so it’s a little less heavy and the filling/cream cheese fits better. I highly recommend it, it’s a pro move. I worked in a deli that used to do that too, it definitely enhances the sandwich eating experience. Fresh bagels and a diverse menu is a welcome addition to the neighborhood food scene.

Bread Brothers has really good bagels, but the crowds can be long on weekends. The pumpernickel bagel is just short of Ess-A-Bagel quality, which is to say still extremely good. Not a bland store-bought type of bagel, a real one. The kind you’ll miss outside of New York.

Solid breakfast choice. I’m not a big fan of their extended menu, and they often make mistakes, so I keep it simple with bagels and coffee. Prices are a little high for the neighborhood but the bagels are big and delightfully chewy, and they’re very generous with the spreads, which are all good and offer a lot of variety. The staff is always nice to me and I haven’t had any problems with them. Good stuff.

GOTOJESSI’S across the street for better food and better service!!! My least favorite place in the neighborhood. The staff treat people poorly. They charge too much for spreads and are careless in assembling their food. They have been rude every time I have gone in. When I went to pick up food the person at the counter told me to wait until the entire line had been served then told me there were no pick up orders and it wasn’t ready yet. After a few minutes I saw the bag of all of our food had been sitting there the whole time getting cold. This was a seamless order so I didn’t even need to pay. Sat there waiting for no reason.

The staff was rude and unfriendly. Not in a charming, New York way either. Also, overpriced.

The iced coffee is skippable but our bagels were good and the selection of cream cheeses was nice. The apple cinnamon had actual apple in it, the scallion bacon had bacon(duh) and the sort of savory flavor that would make me content to eat it on a bagel for lunch. All-in-all, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but it’s good if you’re in the neighborhood.

Three stars because A. Bagels are fantastic, best bagels ever. But tooo much cream cheese! Always too much cream cheese. But MMM awesome bagels. B. Iced coffee is atrocious and tastes like soap. Don’t get it. Their hot coffee isn’t terrible. C. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of queue structure or the poorly placed candy bar display furniture by the cash register that I always manage to trip on, but something about this place gives me mad anxiety when I go here. There’s always a lot of confusion about who has ordered and who has paid and it’s hard to escape this place during peak hours without wanting to kill someone.

Edit to my original review below. The place closed down randomly for a few days and returned with a grade pending on their door. That’s always sketchy. Went back in a few days ago and was highly disappointed. My favorite guys were behind the counter but seemed quiet. There is this gawd awful Lady who mans the register who is outwardly rude to the employees and over charges. I had to correct her twice and she had a major attitude. I honestly will never come back or recommend the place to anyone as long as she is there. Original post; Nice and more upscale deli and bakery for the neighborhood. Great selection of bagels and homemade cream cheese varieties. Amazing homemade tuna and Spanish tuna! The guys working in the afternoon are super helpful serve up the best the café has to offer. While they don’t make them in house, they do carry amazing rainbow cookies! Only suggestion would be to put small tables outside so we can eat and enjoy the weather, otherwise. a nice solid deli.

Pretentiously overpriced. Most sandwiches are around $ 8, which is crazy given how basic most of them are. A yogurt parfait was $ 4.75. Bagel with butter was $ 1.65, which is actually not all that bad when you consider that the bagel was thick and not too hard. A hipster boy band was in town when I stopped by. Welcome to Bushwick, One Fucking Direction!

I had ordered a bagel with bacon and JALAPENO cream cheese. The man was clearly rushed, though I still made it a point to say bacon and JALAPENO three times. He acknowledged me in the most non-committal way. I received bacon and CHEDDAR cream cheese instead. I informed the cashier and my original bagel was thrown away. They gave me my correct order but it contained 60% less cream cheese. The bagel was pretty alright. This place is not worthy of your patronage.

For the most part, I’ve had hit an miss experiences here. I always order the same thing– turkey bacon egg and cheese and the quality goes up and down. Sometimes I’ll only find one piece of bacon on there. But this time they should honestly be ashamed of what they gave me. Me and my boyfriend both order BLTs and they were inedible. The bread they gave was the ends and were stale. They must have kept the leftover bread from earlier in the day to serve it later. The lettuce was bruised and old. The tomatoes were small halves of slices, barely any mayo, and although we both asked for avocado and coleslaw, we got nothing– even though we payed for it. It wasn’t even worth our time to go back and ask them to remake it. They still have those same poor quality ingredients. The only reason I gave them one star is because the staff is nice.
