I could hang at this place all day if it wouldn’t make me feel like a total loser. I had heard about it from a friend who lives in nearby and on a rainy Sat where the weather was otherwise 65 I thought it would be the perfect day. My daughter was scoping holiday gifts and I was open to whatever. The space itself is quite huge. On the 1st floor they have restrooms which were small(only 3 stalls) but fairly clean and coat check. They also have spaces and facilities just for vendors. Upstairs things aren’t really organized in categories. Everything is just kind of mixed in with the exception of the food area. We arrived around 2 pm and it was fairly packed. We immediately grabbed some food. I ordered Italian from a sweet little couple who insisted on giving me so much food and my daughter opted for a famous burger spot located next to the desert area. You really can find anything here from vintage vinyls and bags to instruments, clothes, furniture, ornaments and houseware. Vendors are for the most part warm and welcoming. There doesn’t seem to be much haggling here. Prices are what goods state and that’s that. Overall there’s a good variety of options here. I like to roam flea markets but I seemed to be priced out of this one. Prices seemed really steep. If you have the funds I’d say go and indulge.

This is worst flea market ever. People act like everything their selling is gold! Too expensive.

One of the things that is a bit odd about this flea market: Its in a playground. Otherwise it has some really nice stuff, but none of it is a bargain. Even the really rubbish pieces are given a Vintage label and sold. But they have a few genuine designer as well. Its nothing worth travelling for, but its nice to run into.

The previous flea market at P. S.321, which was forced out by the Brooklyn Flea owners and the school board(which was likely fleeced by some vague promises of an improved market), was perfect. You could browse there for part of an afternoon, with an eclectic mix of vendors and great prices. Even the«overpriced» items were more sensible than at most fleas. However, since Brooklyn Flea took over, the number of vendors dropped considerably, and almost no one is browsing. Sellers are scattered around an almost empty space, and you have to traverse wide open stretches to get from one to the other. Those who stayed have had to raise their prices to keep up with Brooklyn Flea’s increased fees, so it’s hard to find a bargain on anything. The place is a dead zone now. It’s a shame that Brooklyn Flea had to step in and dismantle a neighborhood institution that had been running for more than 30 years. It’s an even bigger shame that the«improved» event they’ve put in its place is so very, very poor.

Another local flea market bites the dust! Ever since Brooklyn Flea took over the 7th Ave market it has gone WAY up in item costs and WAY down in item selection and vendors. No one is selling here… The people that do are selling overpriced merchandise… So very disappointed in the school for letting this market go to hell. I guess it’s all about the money.

I came here specifically because I was too lazy to make the trek to Williamsburg and since this was right across the park, I thought it’d be nice to check out a flea market closer to home. A tad disappointed, I was. The flea market and the very few food vendors that set up shop do so in P. S.321’s schoolyard and the surrounding sidewalk. Unfortunately, their yard is tiiiiny. I saw a few cool trinkets and books here and there but nothing I wanted badly enough to buy on the spot. Not worth checking out unless you’re in the area.
