Best coffee in the neighb. Love the iced americano which is basicaly the iced coffee. A little expensive but it’s worth it if you like a strong, not watered down iced coffee. one question. what is up with the hours? Went over at 1pm today on a Tuesday and it was closed. In fact it’s closed a lot and seems to almost have random hours. Anyway glad to have it when it’s there: D

Went in for breakfast and to check some emails. Food menu is limited but the tostadas were good. The café americano was good as well. No WIFI. The place was empty(just me and the staff) so the service could have been better — I asked for some water and had to get up from my table to get it from the bar. Also, since it was empty I’d expect it to be very clean — it wouldn’t call it dirty but the table tops could have used a quick wipe. Cash only.

My ideal summer sunday is grabbing a café con leche to take back to my apartment to sip while sitting in the sun on my roof. SOGOOD

Their business hours are inconsistent and disappointing. I just tried to go at 9:20 but they still weren’t open despite their hours stating they open at 9.

Pros: Cool décor, good espresso drinks, good food. My girlfriend said the Cuban sandwich was the best she’s ever had. Cons: you can’t just get a regular coffee(although this might be cultural). The drinks are more expensive than most other cafes in the area. Also the hours aren’t great. They don’t open until 9 and I think they close at 6 on most days. This means they often miss me for my morning coffee and my late afternoon/early evening pick me up. Overall, one of my favorite cafes in bushwick and would definitely recommend!

This is my favourite coffee in the area. The café con leche is awesome. Love the décor, makes Bushwick feel like summertime even when it’s snowing

Pale chubby guy in a meat puppets shirt refused to take dimes as part of our payment for two $ 4.25 iced coffees at the window. They also don’t take card. He told us that instead of giving him the dimes we had for the remaining 50 cents of our bill we’d have to go to the ATM in the store beside. Acted like this was our error, our responsibility, and that we were inconveniencing him. We went into the bodega beside, took out money, then decided we didn’t want to give him the money. So we gave back the coffees, said, «we don’t want these anymore,» and as I walked away I said he had acted like a dick. We were greeted warmly by the patron of Molasses Books nearby and bought two coffees for $ 2 each. Can’t say enough good about Molasses Books. Don’t let these people mistreat you. Exterior of the restaurant looks great, however.

I came here with the sole purpose of getting a cafecito which states on their menu«straight Cuban coffee». Sadly, it wasn’t even close to being Cuban coffee. Now don’t get me wrong, it still was a good cup of espresso. But if you’ve ever been to the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, there’s a coffee shop called«Panther» that serves a good espresso, that’s what this cafecito tastes like. But like I said, espresso was good. Tostada was good as well. Service was straight. Cool dude behind the counter. Why is it that I can’t find a real cup of Cuban coffee in New York City? Someone please message me a place where I can find Cuban coffee. Thanks

CAFETERIA, USEBETTERJUDGEMENTWHENHIRINGYOUREMPLOYEES! YOURCOFFEEISGOODANDNOW I CAN’T GOBACKSO I’M VERY, VERYSAD. I used to walk down the street happily many mornings to enjoy a delicious horchata coffee or cortado. I will NOT be returning. Whoever does the hiring made a MAJORMISTAKE because I had an encounter with the guy working there that I will never forget. I’ve lived in many cities over the years, and have never received this kind of treatment from any employee(and I spent many years in retail/service jobs myself and would get FIRED for what he did/said). I kept raving about this place to my friend who was visiting from out of town. The first time we tried to go, they were out of horchata for the horchata coffee. Being determined for her to try Cafeteria, we returned the next morning. We had my dog with me, so I waited outside with him while she went in solo to order for us. In a pre-caffeine stupor, my friend accidentally walked inside still holding a cigarette which SHEHADALREADYPUTOUT. We both admit it was a silly, unintentional mistake. Immediately, the dude working there(short brown hair, medium build, super-bro) yelled at her«YOUCAN’T SMOKEINHERE!”(which she wasn’t doing, she was accidentally still holding a NON smoking cig) my friend then APOLOGIZED despite his rough accusation, explaining that she had just put the cigarette out and had NO intention of wandering into a store smoking, obviously. He then yelled at her to «GETOUT!”(By the way, my friend has been a long time barista herself, and is very kind and soft spoken.) I then uncharacteristically went inside to give this guy a piece of my mind after my now shaken friend told me what had happened and actually very calmly told the guy that I have been a long time /frequent customer and I will not be returning after how rude and unprofessional he was to my friend. I told him it was an accident and she had no intention of smoking in the store… He then started going off on ME and so I walked outside and he goes«NO, WAITWAITWAITYOUCAN’T JUSTLEAVENOW,» and so naively I thought maybe he was going to give me a free coffee or something? so hesitantly went back inside, but no, then he started going off on me again and CUSSING at me!!! I couldn’t believe how much of an a-hole this guy was. Anger management material, seriously.

Let me state first that I’m a long time fan of their café con leche & cortadito. Their coffee is great, I also occasionally enjoy their sandwiches(too bad that the spicy guava jam is gone.) that are tasty and super-filling. My problem is their operation. Today I walked about 15 minutes over to the store and arrived at 3:40 and they were closed. No signs. Nothing noted on their SNS pages. Worst part of it all, this is not the first or the second time that this has happened. When they used to be open until 7pm and switched over to 4pm without announcing in their Unilocal/twitter/storefront/whatnot, I had wasted so much time and energy just pacing back and forth with great disappointment. This is a terrible way to do business people. If you said you’re open until 7pm, be open until 7pm. If you say that you’re open until 4pm, stay open until 4pm. Nobody else decides the open hours, they should at least stick with their own promises. Nuff said.

My friends and I all got sandwiches when we came here… We read the Unilocal reviews and laughed at one that complained about the sandwiches having too much bread, but that’s how we ended up feeling by the end of it. The sandwiches were just alright, just really rich and heavy for a lunch I was generally confused by the set up inside maybe because I’m not from New York? It seemed like the kind of place where you order at the counter and bus your own dishes etc since there isn’t really room for a server. The guy at the counter pretty much ignored us when we came in so we tried to order at the counter and he seemed confused by this and by when we tried to clear our own table after eating. I really dislike this kind of ambiguity

This is a small café that served only two sandwiches and toast for food, which I didn’t realize before dragging A and my mom over there one morning but luckily for me, their grumpiness improved when they realized how delicious the cuban sandwich really is. We started out with just one and a Miami breakfast(toast + café con leche) and ended up adding another one, which we scarfed down. I have to mention their café con leche is really yummy too. :)

Best. Iced. Coffee. Ever. Seriously. Of my life. It required no doctoring. That’s a first for me. Also homemade horchata mmmmmm Great décor, ample seating, wifi, and lovely service. My only wish is that there were more food & pastry options.

*CASHONLY* I got the café con leche and the tosatada(toasted cuban bread) with Nutella for $ 7.50. You can’t go wrong with crusty bread and Nutella. The coffee was the perfect size and not too much sugar. Cute interior. There was only one guy working and a steady flow of customers. He was very efficient and pleasant and did a great job. I’ll definitely be going back. There are other coffee places closer to me, but I prefer this one so far. I’ll save my 5 star review for my next visit when I try their cuban(I just moved from Florida). Update: the Cuban was quite good(though I wouldn’t say I’m an expert). The coffee remains to be excellent as well as the customer service!

Love the place! First time ever coming to Brooklyn. Stayed at my homeboy’s house down the block and I got my coffee in no time at all last week. You New Yorkers really surprised me. I was always told New Yorkers were mean but the service was excellent and it reminded me of my neighborhood coffee shop in Lincoln Park. But then again, maybe all you Brooklyn kids aren’t all native New Yorkers. I’m not sure about these negative reviews because I’m not a jackass and I’ve never gone to the second location wherever that is. As for Angela, it’s laughable that you don’t have a job right now and yet you’re wasting your time writing a bad review. You could be out there applying right now but maybe you rely on getting your checks on the 1st and the 15th and your SNAP benefits. I guess it took you two Masters degrees to find out that college was not the right path for you. I kiiiiiid, I kiiiiiiid! Next time I’m in town, I’ll be the judge but all I can say is that my money is good for it. And that’s the straight dope from the horse’s mouth.

So I was in the neighborhood to grab some lunch & wanted some iced coffee & totally forgot about this place. I haven’t been here for about a year & enjoyed it then & still enjoy it now. The coffee is already lightly sweetened. The café con leche is good but it is very small so if your a coffee fiend, you may be disappointed. The place has seating at the bar & some on the side wall & they offer outdoor seating in the garden. CASHONLY.

Get the legendary Café con Leche with the Nutella Tostada. Their Café con Leche has a small amount of butter in it, which sounds gross, but it’s actually great. Seems the butter provides a huge energy boost and optimizes metabolism(Google It). Very fast WiFi too.
