Wonderful store! A much cheaper and less overwhelming experience than Home Depot. They obviously don’t have as much as Home Depot or even other larger local hardware stores, but they sure do pack a bunch of stuff in this little store. They have a very small and limited gardening section in the back, but I only saw pots and things, not any plants. They do have a few small plants in the store, but I’d still recommend going to Home Depot or another gardening shop for those. They have everything from screws and nails to paint and lightbulbs. They have some lumber as well but not a huge variety.

Needed two keys copied. Waiting atleast 15 minutes before anybody even acknowledged me. Waited another 20 minutes for them to tell me that one of the keys they couldn’t make that I would have to come back in 3 hours when the man that knew how to make it came in to the store. Called them this morning to see if the man would be in to work and they said they would call me back in 3 hours to let me know if he would be in. Of course they neglect to call me back. I called which is when they decide to find out if the man would be in or not. Only to tell me that he wouldn’t be. They are very dismissive and uninterested in helping out. It’s a shame being it is the closest hardware store to me. Don’t waste your time

Great neighborhood hardware store, super clean and organized. Pretty much everything a handyman would need for repair work — didn’t see lumber or extensive selection of speciality stuff for electrical or plumbing, but definitely a top place to find what you need.

A friendly and manageable store. Good selection of household basics but not a highly specialized or extensive selection. A great place to get keys copied quickly and accurately. Note that there is a ten dollar card minimum.

Phenomenal little store. GOTHERE before you go to Home Depot, even if you have a car. I’m consistently surprised how much they’re able to stock in that tiny space, and the people are MUCH more knowledgable than anybody at Home Depot. No, they won’t have absolutely everything, but they have almost everything you’ll need, and they don’t price gouge — prices actually can be same or better than big box stores, despite the convenience factor.

Hit up this place several times last summer when my apartment was falling apart. For NYC, the service is decent, but don’t expect anyone to offer much help. Small shop and not everything one might need but a pretty decent selection. They also copy keys for very very cheap.

Incredibly well-stocked and inexpensive hardware store in the neighborhood. Owned by a father and sons, this is truly a local and family-run business. They treat you like family and know me by name. I have bought everything from scissors to screws to paint to a humidifier. Getting a key made is $ 1.50. They have a surprising number of household supplies too, all priced lower than anywhere else I’ve seen. And, if the above is not reason enough to go, the owner is a big dog-lover and has a collection for the ASPCA, which he donates monthly. They always let me bring my rescue-pit in while I shop. A Clinton Hill gem. Highly recommended.

My experience her was better than home depot, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I liked the fact that the store was organized well. I purchased paint and brushes at the last minute. Now I don’t know much about primers and paints, but once I got home and tested the paint it was great. Vey smooth and a good quality.

I used to like the fact that we had a local, family-owned hardware store in our neighborhood but as of late, I’m compelled to speak up. The past 3 times I visited the store, the service was surly and rude at best. I purchases a utility cart from them 8 years ago that they have serviced/repaired over the years. I stopped in recently to have them replace a pin in the wheel assembly and they claimed to look for a new pin then, after some time, the father comes back to say«we no got». No, stop back tomorrow, no we will order– just a surly«we no got». Then more recently, I was installing kitchen cabinet pulls from Ikea and fond that our drawers have an extra ½ inch header piece so the screws were not long enough. I again returned to these folks to get 4 screws that were ½ inch longer. They only had screws that were longer than necessary and would need to be cut. When I first tried to get these screws, the surly father told me they would have to be cut but that he was short handed and could not spare anyone to go downstairs. I returned this past weekend to see if they were any better staffed and this time, after several people, including the surly father«running around» I was told«we no got machine to do this». Why tell me the previous week you could do this except for the fact that they were short handed? I’m taking my business elsewhere where they know what customer service is.

I am assuming that because of the economy they had to down grade. They use to be located across the street where Bank of America and Maggie Browns in now located. They were huge and could fit a greater need in the community. I use to go there all the time to get things fixed of keys copied but now they just seem to be a thing of my past unless its summer and I need to purchase a new air filter for my AC.

This place is great. I usually go to Sisters because it’s closer, but these guys have a better selection(it’s true, they have an awesome array of spray paint and also tape, perhaps catering to the Pratt kids) and is more organized. I am generally asked multiple times if i need help, but not in an annoying/overbearing way. Today I bought some masonry screws and a few minutes after i picked them up(and without prompting) a guy brought me a drill bit that i should get to make things easier. But not in a «we want to sell you more stuff» kinda way, just being helpful. They have a garden section in the back, which is a plus, though there aren’t too many plants so it’s nothing too special. Everyone who works here seems pretty nice, including checkout people.

The best hardware store in town. Friendly staff, good selection, good prices, CLEANANDBRIGHT(not a dungeon like most places in Brooklyn). I go out of my way to go to this place.

So, what convinced me to review this place was because one of the employees were very very NICE. It was my 3rd time getting plexiglass and this one employee who gave more attention to his cellphone than his job went off to cut my order of plexiglass. I arrived home to discover that he did a horrible job. The lines are not straight. the measurements are way off. I come back the next morning to ask them to cut it again. A nice man named Carlos works on the other side of the room and he seemed to be in charge of the cutting or mixing of paints. He looked at my plexiglass and was very patient and polite with me. A few minutes later, he came back with it all nicely cut and clean. He realized that the guy yesterday did such a horrible job and cut some NEW plexiglass and did a perfect job with it, without charge. You just saved this students life, Carlos. You’re AWESOME!

These guys are great! If they don’t have what you need(which is rare), then they will help you find somewhere that will have it, or order it for you even. I don’t know what to say really… I have trouble getting all stoked about hardware stores. I’d definitely hit this place up any day before I go to Home Depot. Helpful staff, and if you’re a Pratt student(perhaps other Pratt students, too –I’m not sure) — just flash your student i.d. card and they’ll give you 10% off!

This place almost always has what I need. Wide selection, but most importantly, good hours. Every other hardware store seems to be closed when I need it, but these guys actually seem to stay open at sensible times. They seem to have a pretty sizeable paint selection(perhaps due to PRatt being nearby) and obviously do key copying and whatnot as well.
