If you like eating dog food then go to this place, one Friday night I was there with my boyfriend an he ordered a chicken soup that was brought to the table at room temperature, we nicely asked to have it warmed an the lady said the microwave was out of order. we quickly got up an left the restaurant! That is not a way to treat customers!!!

Delivered the wrong order. Didn’t get the replacement until two hours later and that was also wrong. Do not order from this restaurant.

Mofongo is a must! Consistently good! Portion sizes are big. I personally love the whole chicken, mofongo, rice and beans and sweet fried plantains! Always a go-to for some comfort Spanish food.

If I could give them a zero rating I could. I gave them another shot and it was totally not worth it. I ordered on grub hub for some breakfast and I got a phone call from a woman that didn’t speak English. I told her I didn’t speak Spanish and hung up. I then got a phone call from a woman saying«hold on hold on please» and then she was yelling to someone in Spanish and I was waiting for 1 – 2 minutes and I hung up. They never called me back again. I waited 30 min and contacted Grub Hub and they found out that«they were out of breakfast.» They never notified Grub Hub to tell them, they gave up on telling me, and I guess they were just going to make me wait indefinitely before I «figured it out?» Seriously. F this place.

Amazing selection of authentic Latin cuisine. You also can’t beat their prices.

I’ve been to this El Rey and the El Rey in East New York. I’ve only eaten at this El Rey for breakfast a few times. Next time I’m definitely getting the Spanish breakfast with the mangu and salami. My ham and American cheese omelette was ok and the fries were sub-par, but the prices are really really low. The spot in East New York has above-average dinner food.

Food was pretty good. I had chicarron de pollo, white rice and beans. The usual it was pretty good. We went there really more to party on a Friday night. I had a long Island ice tea, it was kinda weak! A bucket of 6 beers was either 15 – 20 buks. I don’t remember exactly. The music was good and we danced all night. If you like merengue and bachata, this is a fun place to go. My only suggestion is go already buzzed. For a place in the hood, it’s pretty pricey.

I was referred along with my business partner to this place from a friend who has a PR agency in the Williamsburg area after a meeting. At first I was like, «yea, a Hispanic restaurant is the best you can do guy?» Being Haitian and guy who loves Caribbean food we decided to give it a go. Long story short, I had the grilled salmon with yellow rice and beans. The food was great. Well seasoned, not overcooked, good portion size. I also had a sambuca from the bar. Service? Not so good. The food took over 20 minutes to come out, and we were the only guests in the restaurant. They were re-organizing the tables and chair setup right next to us, which I found unprofessional. We were never offered water from beginning to end. The waitresses are hot, granted, but a pretty face don’t quench my thirst. I would go back if I was in a few block radius and wanted some comfort-ish food and some eye candy.

My new favorite Spanish restaurant since I moved to Bedstuy(from Bushwick). I like their rice and beans, tostones, and the chicken is the best! The only juice I have tasted so far is the chinola juice and it’s too sweet for my tastebuds so I haven’t ordered it again. The pastelitos are sooo good~yum de queso(cheese). So far that’s all I have tasted. I haven’t yet gone to the actual restaurant, just delivery, but I’m planning to one day go with my family :). I have noticed other reviewers mentioning«grumpy waitresses» I have to noticed this, but on the phone. She wasn’t really grumpy, just kind of distracted and I had to repeat myself while placing my order — other than that no other problems with this marvelous restaurant.

Food was delicious, pretty cheap. Waitress was kind of bitchy. Will go back again, maybe she was having a bad day.

This Spanish cuisine restaurant lives up to the hype. As they grow in fame, they improve in quality. I have gone here about twice a year for 4 years. What started out in Rey II as a pretty typical looking Spanish restaurant with better food platters and service than most, has evolved into a fantastic restaurant with convenient locations through out Brooklyn. I’m not attracted to the typical Spanish restaurants. I don’t like the super loud Merengue or the scantily dressed waitresses, who show their belly’s. I’m a Dominican young woman who has gone to many restaurants like this, since its often the norm. El Rey has opted for a classier reputation and a taste for quality. Their waitresses often wear uniforms. The tables get unlimited bread baskets. They remodel their locations often, constantly making improvements and including new additions, The last time I went to El Rey III, they had added a new stage for bands. They were using elegant glasses for sodas and water, and using higher quality plates and silver ware. The food still comes in large portion which I love not to mention the its very tasty! Thumbs up– setting a great standard for local Spanish restaurants. Great quality service, nice looking restaurants, and great food! Thumbs down– grumpy waitresses. I have experienced it twice in El Rey III and 4 times in El Rey II.

I was invited to celebrate my aunts 45th Bday here, and let me tell you I was impressed. The food was delish, especially the fried appetizers, the tostones, with the deep fried chicken chucks, pork rinds, and fried pieces of steak, dam am getting fat!!! lol! the place has a nice diner feel to it. It also boasts live performances(most of which are artists/bands from the D.R.), they have a stage area. For those of you who puff on hookahs they have those as well, am not a fan of the smoke though. I also had the chicharron de pollo with white rice and beans with nice cold Presidente and I was set to dance merengue all night! El Rey 3 you are definitely a king in the county of Kings!

Debbie and I discovered this excellent restaurant while waiting for a show to start a few blocks away at Don Pedro’s. After walking a few blocks through a neighborhood pockmarked by laundromats and Chinese take-out places with names like«Ten Dragons», we came to a corner that had a well-lit, clean diner-looking establishment nestled on it. The take out area and all its wonderful meaty smells hit you as you walk in the door, the actual dining area still looks new and was spacious, the seats are comfortable, and the service was fast and friendly. We both had Cuban sandwiches(the waitress even checked to make sure I wanted it the«real» way with pickles and mayo. check, and check!).shared some mofungo(which you can get with prawns, pork, goat, chicken.), and I had a chilled bottle of Guiness(I was hoping for Dos Equis or something a little more meal appropriate, but in lieu of Miller and Bud, I went for the nod to my Irish lineage). We ate as the regulars watched soccer matches on the large screen TVs, and the back area was being cleared for some sort of dancing. Salsa lessons maybe? When the bill came, I had to double check they included everything…$ 15 for two seemed beyond fair, for both the food and the service. If only every discovery in moments of hunger and strange intersections turned out to be as fruitful. err…meatful!

This place is about 50ft away from my building. I was overjoyed when the former Dominican troublesome nightclub closed down and this nice clean restaurant opened… They did a great job on decorating. I went to the grand opening… I ordered the rotisserie chicken with white rice/bean and a salad side of fries and my b/f got the chicharron mofongo with seafood salad… the food took almost an hour to get to our table and unfortunately it was ice cold. My b/f had to tell the waitress in Spanish and she just grabbed it and brought it back while the owner came over and apologized… she brought it back a few minutes later… The rotisserie chicken was really good… the white rice alone was tasty I didn’t care for the beans at all. my salad consisted of a thick slice of lettuce and a thick slice of an unripe tomato(don’t get the salad) with no dressing… the fries were ok but I could taste everything else that they fried that night… The mofongo was really good minus the ox tail gravy they gave with it… the seafood salad was completely overcooked and greasy. we had a few coronas which were cheap they have a fully stocked bar and make every drink imaginable… and then a band came on. don’t get me wrong I’m not really into Spanish music as i don’t speak the language but the beats were great until some 4′ 11″ guy got on the mic and started screaming… it was my time to go…

So the food took about an hour… but when it came, it was tasty, filling, and pretty cheap. They have a full bar, I ordered my first ever Appletini and jeeeeeez they do not skimp on the alcohol. I’d stay away from the salads, my side salad was a bland pile of white lettuce and unripe romatoes. But the ‘wine chicken’ was flavorful and moist. Overall I was satisfied and plan on going back… and trying something new.
