Pricey, but got the soles of my favorite boots replaced and have been wearing them every day for many months with no problems!

Overpriced, incompetent, unaccountable. I brought in a pair of shoes and asked for only the right shoe to be stretched(my R foot is bigger than the L) and for both to be shined. The man wanted $ 12 for this – which is $ 5 more than Angelo’s charges for the same service. The next day I came in and found he had stretched only the left shoe – meaning that the right was still too small and the left was now too large. At first he claimed he had stretched the right one, even though it was obvious he had just taken the shoe-stretcher out of the left – and the left shoe was now wider.(Sounds like the same sort of trick he pulled with Stephanie P in a prior review.) So now I have a pair of semi-damaged shoes, and to top it all off the shoeshine was lousy. He also didn’t get his $ 12.

I brought in my favorite pair of boots because the zipper was coming off on one of them. The guy replaced the zipper and gave the boots a shine for $ 28. I thought that this was expensive at first, but I guess it’s worth it for a pair a really good boots. He even repaired the fronts of both shoes which were coming apart slightly without me asking which I thought was a nice touch. They were ready the next day, and even gave me a call to let me know that they were ready. He also does watch repair, so after being pleased with the service, I told my boyfriend about this place and he got a new battery and the strap replaced on his watch for $ 13. Don’t be thrown off by the small, cluttered(albeit organized) space.

Went here because the shop is conveniently near Atlantic Avenue shopping center. Brought in a pair of my leather riding boots on a Saturday afternoon. Upon seeing my poor worn down boots, of which the heel was literally falling them off, he gave me a thorough finger wagging, and told me I should replace the heels of both boots, the sole of one, and suggested I polish them. He quoted me $ 60, which I thought was kind of pricey– but still cheaper than what I would have paid to buy new boots– and I love those boots. Had to leave a 50% cash deposit, and he wouldn’t tell me when they would be ready. However by 10 the next morning he had them ready. He even went and replaced the entire sole and heel on both boots so they wouldn’t be so slippery, no extra charge. «So you don’t fall down so much and ruin these nice boots» he said. What a charmer. Added to the polish job, I feel like I bought a brand new pair of boots. Totally worth the $ 60. Will be going back to get some heels fixed, for which I’m sure he’ll yell at me again for my carelessness in attending to my footware.

Not only did he not fix the bag that I brought in(one of the shoulder straps had snapped) he broke the other one. When I explained that both sides of the shoulder strap had not been broken when I brought it in he insisted that he had not touched it, and when I again stated that it had not previously been broken, he looked at another customer and told him that I «was wrong in my head» and that I had«problems.» Telling other customers that I am crazy just about tops off the list of unprofessional conduct. Please, do not go here.
