Eyeconic Optometry

Simon, Jessica and Jack Chan, OD, are the most unassuming and helpful people you would want to have on your side when you are experiencing an «eye problem». I had been a lifelong contact lens wearer with a severe eye infection and currently sporting a pair of borrowed eyeglasses with an «approximate» Rx close to mine. Needlessly, beggars cannot be choosers.
Dr. Chan addressed my immediate needs with confidence and urgency. He answered my million and one unnecessary quandaries with contemplation and insight. No technicality was overlooked. Nothing was too bothersome nor inconsequential. Dr. Chan’s warm sensibilities and extensive knowledge makes him your go-​to, boy next door, new best friend.
The medication that was originally ordered was too costly, so Dr. Chan finagled with the pharmacist to secure a more economic option. After 3 days, the medication was not effective, so we reverted to a generic form of the original Rx. My glasses were ready in 2 working days! Simon and Jessica adjusted my frames and Dr. Chan gave me anti-​itch sample eye drops that would hopefully ease the symptoms of my hair-​pulling, incessant eye infection.
I have called Simon on several occasions regarding the change of script and glasses and visited the shop twice; I have a knack for overstaying my welcome. At no instance did I feel like that at Eyeconic. This is a locally owned and operated shop with the most conscientious and likable crew one would be hard pressed to find, anywhere in Brooklyn or NYC for that matter.

This is a quality shop.
We stopped at 4 places along 86^st to compare, and we were impressed by the selection, customer service, and Doctor.

The woman who helped us choose, Jessica, was beyond friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful in selecting frames. She was very thorough and paid attention to all questions, comments, and concerns.
She spent a good hour with us and was friendly and patient the entire way through.
Seeing the optometrist was quite a breeze and he was also very friendly and patient, thorough and attentive to all questions and concerns. He asked all the right questions to make sure the glasses my boyfriend selected fit his lifestyle.
He was extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented which clearly showed his passion for the profession. I have to note that the sales people were extremely knowledgeable technically and yet very personable in interaction — not pushy, very honest, transparent, patient, and I could go on.
In past experiences at optometrists, I left exhausted and somewhat questioning my choice. Here, I left grateful, happy, and excited about my new glasses!!!

I have been here for glasses and for contacts, and each time, I got great service, a great eye exam, and great selection of frames and contact lenses. The doctor is thorough and gentle — no need to be nervous! The staff is really knowledgeable about different lens options, and about custom fitting your glasses so they don’t fall down your nose. On my most recent visit, the doctor recommended a new brand of contact lens, and it’s so much more comfortable than my old brand!

They do have an excellent service! From the person who picked up my call to the doctor. I gave a four star, instead of a five because the price is less than what I paid for the other place I went, but not the cheapest. For the great service though, I think it’s worth the cost. I also love that they give back to a non-​profit.

After reading all the Unilocal reviews, I’ve decided to come by here on my way to the gym to get my eyes prescription. The staff were exceptionally informative and helpful. I tried on their vast variety of frames after eye exam and ended up with the Hugo Boss designer frames and high index lens with a discount from the staff made it much more affordable!
PS: Dr Chan was was extremely friendly and helpful, by far the best of all eye doctors I’ve been to!

Eyeconic has excellent customer service. They are extremely helpful and the staff is very polite. The atmosphere is great and you definitely feel like you are welcome here. They work hard to provide answers to all your questions and/​or concerns and offer generous discounts compared to many other optometrist offices in Chinatown. I got my eyes checked for eye contacts for the first time (ever) today and they had me in and out within 30 minutes. They definitely know what they’re doing and don’t try to overcharge you. I am extremely pleased with them and I would definitely recommend anyone who needs eye care!

Recently made my second visit to Eyeconic Optometry and once again the the service was outstanding.
Dr. Chan gave me his professional advice, and was very patient and informative to my multiple questions. I am very happy with my chosen glasses and highly recommend Eyeconic for all your optometry requirements!

I get my eye checked every year for my contacts. Usually i go to the one in manhattan but a friend of mine recommended this place. I m glad i came here. Dr. chan was very thorough with his exam. Usually most doctors rush through but he was very patient with me. He explained to me about all the tests he did. Sales people were helpful as well. They werent pushy. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back there to have my eyes checked.
