Way Overpriced. The staff was very pleasant and the place was clean but the food was just so-so. You could do so much better in this neighborhood if you’re looking for Pizza.

Franny’s is as close to perfection as one wants from their neighborhood restaurant. No, it’s not cheap. But the highest quality ingredients from local sources purchased that day and cooked, seasoned perfectly does not come cheaply. I’m surprised by all the reviews digging at Franny’s for the prices. Practically everything here is DELICIOUS and just because something is a pizza doesn’t mean it should be the same price as Ray’s. I love the white pizza, the clam and the margherita. And I always enjoy their vegetable and crostini starters. They also have an excellent beer and wine menu. The service is always attentive and knowledgeable without being annoying. This is farm-to-table at its best and that means that yes, the pizza is $ 22. And worth every single penny. If top-notch quality and progressive cooking are on the top of your list of qualities you want in a restaurant, then you’ll be happy here and not at all surprised by the prices.

The clam pie is pretty tasty. They work a little magic with the briny clam juice and I don’t know what. But everything is so expensive and the pizza is not the best I’ve had. For 22 bucks a pop, you’d think they would take a moment to cut the pies, rather than give each table some clunky scissors. Two words: Paulie Gees.

Great pizza but very overpriced. $ 125 for two small pizzas and two glasses of wine is excessive no matter how good the pizza is. Also, the chairs are not comfortable.

I really liked Franny’s! I was a bit put off at first when they told us there was a 30 Minute wait when there were a lot of tables open, so we just sat at the bar. They have an amazing sparkling red wine called Albone — it’s so good. Highly recommend that with your meal if you visit in the summertime. We started with the turnip salad which was super tasty, as well as the broccoli rabe with chickpeas, both great choices. The pizzas change often but in my opinion these are the best pizzas in the city. Dare I say better than Roberta’s? They’ve mastered the New York style pizza taste with the amazingness of the neopolitan style dough. Great for the family or with friends.

Amazing Food Amazing Pizza Love the clam Pizza. Have to say it used to have more clams and it used to be a bit crisper where the middle didn’t sag so bad. But it was good. Asparagus was amazing and Tokyo turnips were delightful. Lambrusco always good. Great service and lovely evening. Thank you

A favorite of mine in Brooklyn. Love the pasta’s regardless of which ones their concocting for this week’s menu. Always using local producers with the freshest ingredients that you don’t find at your local supermarket. Wines are vast and hard to choose from so ask the bartender for suggestions based on your preferences in taste profile. Staff super friendly and always try to get you in. Sometimes when busy you can try getting dinner at the bar if you can squeeze in.

Franny’s pie is full of strong flavors. The sauce is nice and sweet. The cheese is extremely strong. The burnt core and crust form a good pizza. There is something holding me back from living this pie. It didn’t blow my mind, but it was good.

I don’t get everyone’s beef… this place was delicious! First of all, super cute location, if the weather was nicer I would’ve definitely sat outside. The wait on a Friday night was 30 – 45 minutes, pretty average for anywhere in NY that doesn’t take reservations and also serves bomb food. Why has no one discussed the apps? They may have been half of the highlight of my visit. First, the kale rapini. I don’t know what’s in it but I want that recipe. It was like broccoli rabe with lemon and breadcrumbs. So much yum. Next, the pork cheek and beef tongue terrine. Sounded strange, but if you ask for a side of crostini, THISISAMAZING. Omg. I don’t have words, I was too busy stuffing my face with this amazing blend of meats and the soft yet crispy topped with garlic butter crostini. Or at least I think that’s what it was. It was bomb. We ordered the tomato meatball pizza. The crust was like a pillow. The tomato sauce was so delicious, homemade, silky. I will admit the meatball was their downfall, I’ve definitely had better juicier meatballs but by then I was in too deep. The grape on my cake was the LI Vineyard wine I love on tap, poured quite heavily. Done and done. Already looking forward to my next visit!

I’m so conflicted about Franny’s! At the end of the day, whatever my other complaints, the food is consistently excellent and the pizza is some of the best I’ve had in NYC.(Clam pizza and the one with ricotta and hot peppers are standouts.) They have good beers and good wines on tap. So I put up with the rest… My complaints: The ambience is snooty in the way I associate with many places in Park Slope. More critically, the wait is often unapologetically long and they don’t take reservations for normal sized parties; almost everything is a ripoff(like, $ 50+ pp for pizza, a drink and maybe dessert or a side); and most portions besides pizza are tiny.

What am I missing? Wanted to love this place, based on the hype, but maybe I missed the point. Started with the salad that was essentially a plate of iceberg lettuce. Ok. Not for me, but I didn’t come here for the salads. Waiter was beyond pretentious. Acted as if we were lucky to be eating there. We ordered 2 pizzas and were incredibly underwhelmed. Flavorful? Yes, but not the flavor I was hoping for. Overly spicy to the point of inedible. And the scissors? SCISSORS? Please get over yourselves. Shtick can only get you so far. Place has been open for a while now. Maybe needs to reevaluate what they’ve become now that they’re super cool.

I have been to the place a few times and the pizza is always very good. We started with the salami platter– wish they had cheese platter on the menu to complement it and had the tostini which I highly recommend. The menu has a lot of unique items and recommend ordered a few and sharing We shared the pizza with ricotta and hot peppers and have to say it the cheese was so fresh and perfectly cooked that it was definitely one of the best pizzas I ever had. The pana cotta for dessert was not too sweet and very light yum

Went to try the restaurant because my husband saw it on Yahoo that was given a great rating… YIKES, not at all. Pro: we were seated quickly and staff were nice and helpful. Food is delicious Cons: Food took a while to come out and the prices were much for small portions. Three golf size rice balls were $ 12 — delicious, but wanted more. The pizza was $ 22 for a 10″, margherita pie. Ordered the spaghetti with spicy fish sauce — had a nice kick, pasta was under al dente — my daughter could have eaten another bowl of that pasta — but not for the price they were charging. Spacing between tables was tight. There are better restaurants on Flatbush and within the area that will give you more bang for your buck.

Ok, so I just finished my long awaited over priced pizza. I had the ricotta Buffalo pizza. You might want to have the peppers placed on the side if your a light weight like myself. The pizza was ok, but not the pizza that I grew up on. So, overall I rate this place a two because, everything here is mini me sized and max priced. :/

I hope none of my friends see this because I may be excommunicated from the group but I gotta do it: I just don’t get it. The servers are very nice, I’ll give them that. Ambiance, also nice. But $ 22 pizzas?! They’re good but not THAT good. $ 15 for a few forkfuls of beets? Pasta is good but quite salty. I just think there must be better pizza that doesn’t cause this much of a dent in my time and wallet.

I am truly shocked that this place continues to get high reviews! The food was incredibly overpriced, and portions were meager leaving your wallet and stomach empty. The pizza crust was fresh but blackened to a crisp and were so thin that — even with 2 pizzas — my fiancé and I were both still hungry at the end of the meal. The kitchen was incredibly stingy with the toppings; our margarita pizza was adorned with only two pieces of mozzarella. Franny’s is also incredibly crowded and loud, with tables piled on top of one another. Overall, the quality of food is fine(maybe 3 stars), but the price and ambiance bring the rating down to a 2.

I’m always willing to go to Franny’s. I think Rose’s is great(and really loved Marco’s before it), so this restaurant group has a good track record as far as I’m concerned. And the food at Franny’s is really, really good. The appetizers are actually the strong point, in my opinion: the pancetta crostini(pork fat melted into two slices of bread) and the burrata are go-to’s, but we tried the potato zeppole last time, and they were unusual and delicious, like savory/oniony/bacony funnel cakes. The cocktail menu is decent but somewhat limited(heavy on amaro-centric drinks); fortunately there are usually some interesting beers on draft. The entrees are limited to pizza and pasta. The former are very good, but they don’t compete with Emily, Barboncino, or Roberta’s – a little too overcharred, and a little too boring in the options. Most of the red sauce offerings are essentially tomato sauce + cheese +(cured meat or meatball). I’ve never had any of the white pizzas, including the clam, but my fiancée swears by the prosciutto cotto white pizza.(She once took half of the pizza home in a box, but ate it before we finished the walk.) The pastas change frequently, and I really liked the rigatoni with guanciale I tried once, but the portion size does not compare to the pizzas. You will be finished your entrée well before your pizza-eating friends. But I think any honest review has to mention the prices. Frankly, for the portion sizes, they’re crazy. That delicious crostini is two small pieces of bread, but costs $ 11, which galls me every time despite the fact that it’s so tasty. This is true for the appetizers in general — extremely small portions if you’re sharing, and generally in the $ 15 – 16 range. The pastas are equally off: most places would consider these appetizer-sized half portions, and they’re $ 19. The pizza… well, $ 22 is more expensive than pretty much every other pizza place I’ve been to, and it’s not the best pizza place I’ve been to, so there’s that. And finally, dessert might be the most egregious: the bomboloni for $ 10 is two small(but crispy and delicious) doughnut holes with a little honey underneath.($ 10 = ~ 3 full doughnuts at Doughnut Plant!) Finally, while the wait staff has been universally friendly and quick on our visits, the front-of-house is an absolute disaster. It’s usually a pair of women who seem extremely unfocused – based on the number of loud complaints, they seem to frequently lose track of reservations and who has checked in(including us on a prior visit, causing us to wait an hour unnecessarily while they seated other parties). On another occasion, as we waited for our table with a drink at the bar, one of them came over and rudely told my friend to leave her stool so she could move it in order to seat another group to eat at the bar. Sorry Charlie: your bar is a bar, not overflow seating for your ill-managed restaurant, so we’ll wait right here until you get your s*** together and seat people.

I expect to come here every time I am in town because my boss just loves it. He says the clam pizza is his favorite pizza ever. This trip he purposely booked the hotel in Brooklyn so we would be situated near it and wouldn’t have to take the usual two trains. It is a decent sized space with a very nice ambiance. I like the rustic touches and the lighting is perfect. I have ordered the same tomato, basil and buffalo mozzarella pizza the past two times. I would like to try something different but have not been too intrigued by the combination of ingredients on the other pizzas. Still, this pizza is satisfying so I can’t complain too much. And like I said, my boss just raves about the clam pizza. The wine by the glass list is not extensive but is very interesting. If you are feeling adventurous and would like to try some wines you have never heard of this would be a good place to do it. As far as dessert goes, get the panna cotta. I have never tried panna cotta anywhere else and probably never will because this is the most delicious vanilla bean dessert ever. I ate an entire one by myself and did not feel regret. It is similar to a crème brûlée without the carmelized sugar on top. Luckily they have a cookbook and this recipe is in it. Better believe I will be trying that one out for myself.

Went to check this place out after my mom saw it on Food Network. The clam pizza was recommended in the show. Sadly, we were all disappointed with the pizza. It was incredibly salty and the white sauce wasn’t very appetizing. Now for the good, the Bruschette was delicious as was the olive oil and sea salt pie(we split this between the table as an appetizer). I also had vegetarian lentil soup which was full of flavor. The service was great. We had pear sorbetto and the bomboloni for dessert. Overall, it was a good experience. We were bummed the pizza didn’t turn out but I would go back to try the others. I think if the pizza had a red sauce it would taste better.

Came here on a Friday night with family and split the crostini of roasted pancetta with sour orange marmellata, purple barley with radishes, dates, almonds and pecorino, and the marinated greens with pancetta and fennel pollen to start. The purple barley was by far the best appetizer we had — it was SO delicious! I’d honestly come back for that alone. For entrees we split the ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, basil, garlic and hot peppers and the tomato, sausage and buffalo mozzarella. We were debating between the sausage or the meatball and the server kindly told us that the sausage pizza was cheesier and more gooey because of the buffalo mozzarella whereas the meatball pizza had more of a hard cheese. I’m definitely more of a gooey cheese kind of girl so the sausage option did not disappoint. The pizza crusts were a bit burnt but flaked right off. It’s not the best pizza in NYC, but pretty good.

The Barefoot Contessa recommends this place? Ya better put some shoes on honey, Billy Salts is kicking this place to the curb. Friggin’ hipsters! They love to hear about how the vegetables, fruits, eggs, dairy, and fish are largely sourced from local and/or organic producers and all meats are from sustainable sources, containing no hormones or antibiotics. That is wonderful! It sounds great on paper, HOWDOESITTASTE? I walk in to a very nice looking restaurant. Back in the 70s, my aunt used to live in this neighborhood. All these beautiful brownstones, you can fall in love with Brooklyn. I was expecting to fall in love with Franny. A cheery host greets us and seats us to a small table. I ask about the beers on tap and I’m told they have a beer that’s a little hoppy, not like an IPA but hoppy. Sold! (So far so good) We ordered two pizzas: a mushroom pizza and tomato/buffalo mozzarella pizza. The pizza comes out quickly from the wood fired oven. The cheese, which is from organic producers and largely sourced is not working for me. The sauce is sweet, the crust is ok but there is no. no gel from all of the ingredients working together. The cheese isn’t oily and flavorful, the crust is too charred and dry. The pizza is not oily, salty or savory. I’m just not feelin’ ya Franny. If your looking for pizza that comes from organic producers and all the meats are from sustainable sources, containing no hormones or antibiotics. Enjoy. If you love pizza? This is not the best in Brooklyn Sorry Franny, you can kiss my fanny
