Actually, unlike the other poster I found the volunteer(and apparently, one of the co-creators) to be quite friendly, extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to answer my endless questions and offer what he knew about each and every one of the plants in this magnificent green space. From the professionally-inlaid stone paths to the fantastic myriad of beautiful and unusual plants, this is a truly magical garden. It is located on North 12th Street(not Roebling) in Williamsburg near the Russian Orthodox Church. The garden is open from morning until dusk, not 24/7, but then, what park is open 24⁄7? I have been living in Greenpoint/Williamsburg since 1995, and it has been my experience that the people who complain about the area or have negative things to say have not been in the area long enough to appreciate what the area has to offer and why certain things are there to begin with. The Green Dome is a lovely place and I for one am pleased with how it has evolved and the professional, dedicated and inspired care that has enabled tthe transformation of this place to take place.

It’s not always open, very small and some of the volunteers are not exactly friendly. Given that this is the only part of McCarren Park that feels really green. Flowers, mini trees, and a stonework path leads you to a spot to enjoy a smoothie and the Sunday Times.
