I’ve been training at Grey’s for almost 5 months and its been great! I go consistently twice a week and have definitely started to see improvement in terms of muscle development, strength and weight-loss. At the moment I am only doing 30 min sessions and although they are quick, they are fast-paced and effective(i.e. I now have a butt!) Like a few other commenters, I supplement my training with other activities like walking/running, etc. I could probably benefit from class pass or something else, but at the moment my schedule is only really suited for a twice a week thing. That being said, if you’re like me and can only do this training as your means of working out, you WILL still see great improvements. I also do love the solo sessions verse being around other people who are watching you sweat and grunt in weird positions… unless you’re into that.

I am so happy that this place opened in my neighborhood! The location is really convenient, the facility is super clean(unlike some gyms I’ve trained at), my trainer is really skilled + knowledgeable and it’s very private to boot. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been training at Grey’s Gym for a little over a month now, and have to say, it’s a great experience. I was already quite active before starting my training — IE I play a lot of tennis(4x/week), and I had been working with a trainer elsewhere in prep for my wedding. I came in looking to round out my fitness routine & for injury prevention. Couple things I will say : 1. Having a good private trainer is priceless. Someone you trust, who will push you to the limit, force you to work on your weaknesses, advise you on a fitness/nutrition routine, etc. One really nice thing about going to Grey’s Gym is that the trainers there *do* take the time to ask you about your nutrition, are able to give advice, discuss(and will even have you do a little) meditation to manage stress, etc. This is rare & very helpful. 2. Having a good private trainer *close* to your home, who works in a pleasant environment where you aren’t fighting for equipment or standing next to some annoying muscle-builder ;) or wanna-be stripper ;) is also really nice! 3. Only ever working out when you’re with a private trainer *will* break your bank. IE if you choose to use this gym, realize it’s a slightly different strategy for your fitness than, say, joining a gym & adding on personal training. The difference is, you can’t just walk into this gym on a rainy Tues morning to use their spin bike. This means, if you’re like me & striving to develop a workout habit, I have to get my daily exercise elsewhere — most often outside, and sometimes in the rain. This, in my book, is a good thing since it means if at some future point my budget changes & I choose not to have a gym membership(or a personal trainer), my fitness routine won’t go out the window. But, just be aware that the model here is different from that of your typical gym membership + training package. The bottom line is, the training here is excellent & if you’re like me, this is what matters most. A little anecdote I would add: I got an email from my previous trainer since it turned out I had a few sessions left that were about to expire. Wouldn’t I like to use them up? So, I took a few sessions with her. First thing she says is, «Wow, that problem we were seeing with your hips looks much better now!» And, I remember you used to do your pull-ups lopsided(80% with the left arm) — a little better now. Whatever you’ve been doing for fitness seems to be working. Hard to argue with that :)

I’d been walking past Greys Gym for a while before deciding to send an inquiry via email. It almost seemed too good to be true — a personal training gym within walking distance from my house?! I wouldn’t have to shower in a public place after my workout?(Yuck. A phobia, don’t judge). Granted, these benefits were near the top of my criteria list but there were other concerns: Would I finally be able to shed my baby weight? It’s only been 12 years. Yes(It’s been 9 weeks and I’ve already lost 12.2 lbs. Had I changed my eating habits at the beginning, I’d have lost 20 by now! Damn, Dough Donuts! — Sooooo good. Would I like my trainer and want to see him before sunrise on work days or during free mimosa brunch hours on the weekends? Yes. Would I be so motivated to continue my workouts at home on off days so as not to embarrass myself during the sessions I pay for? Yes. The trainers care as much about teaching proper posture, body alignment, building strength and flexibility as they do about getting you bikini-ready. And, the music is not bad.. .

I have just renewed my membership package with Grey’s gym and couldn’t be happier with my workout régime. I workout twice a week. I already see great results. I’m stronger and feel so much better. Working one on one with a trainer makes a huge difference. You stay focused and really adapt to you own needs. I’m a full time working mother of two with zero time left in my schedule and have always found a good excuse not to work out. Grey’s gym has changed that attitude and has helped me connect with my body and be healthier thru physical effort. The trainers are very nice. They gym is elegant and understated with great big windows. I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve been training at Greys Gym for about 2 months and I absolutely love it. I have had an issue for a few years where I wasn’t able to extend my shoulder properly because of a previous injury and Dan — who is exceptionally knowledgeable and also very careful in a good way — has been helping me work through that issue. But we’re not just treating the shoulder, we’re gradually strengthening it while, in parallel, working on my overall fitness. And this is the optimal arrangement for me. Before this, I had the mentality that I had to sort of choose between having a physical therapist with a very narrow focus or having a physical trainer from a gym who might be a little too cavalier and push me into having new injuries, and so therefor I had been avoiding the whole thing entirely. But thankfully I tried Greys and it has worked out _perfectly_, so I’m very happy. Thanks to them!

You guys, this place is great. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t, and every time I train with Dan I feel like I’m another day closer to finally landing the cover of People’s Sexiest Man issue. He’s also so knowledgable that, in addition to becoming a badass strongman who can physically do anything, I’ve also learned so much about how the human body operates that I could probably pull off a minor surgery on somebody. It’s not just your body that improves at Greys, it’s your brain and — dare I say — your heart.

Grey’s Gym is Excellent. This is the best training you will find in New York, and at this price! I’ve worked with many personal trainers in my life, and these guys are seriously great. The staff are knowledgeable, personable, skilled, and flexible. The actual space is beautiful, well equipped, and super convenient for brooklynites. What more is there to say? I’m grateful for the past year with them; they’ve given me strength, agility, peace of mind, and WELLNESS.
