Really great food and really great friendly staff. They make sure they give good costumer service. I had a burger there and it tasted excellent! Would definitely come back!

I was craving a falafel… Was in Brooklyn heights and found this place. A cart? I’m pretty hesitant about carts, having had some bad experiences. But this cart was fab! The guy made my falafel on the spot, took his time. It was delicious! None of that hard falafel stuff, would give this a 6.5 on my falafel scale!

Delicious food! Definitely not your run of the mill halal cart. The owner, Z, is very friendly and accommodating. The food is high quality and organic. I had the lamb over basmati rice. The lamb, white and hot sauces were delicious and the rice was cooked to perfection. The salad was more than just some iceberg lettuce and tomato that you get at other carts. There were definitely some good choices. I ended up having a spring mix with tomatoes(cherry or sliced), red onions, chick peas and pickles– it was great as well. The menu is longer than most carts and I can’t wait to try the rest of the items on it. If you’re in downtown Brooklyn it’s a must have.

An extra star for the guy who prepares the platter. First time to this place because my regular cart guy was away and i am glad i went here. So, i am on a special diet where i cannot eat rice or flour don’t ask how i ended with this crazy idea. But well i was craving some salty food so thats how i ended up there. Now, a platter without rice was a little strange at first but the guy was soo accomdating. He filled the box with salad and even offered to put lemon juice as my salad dressing that was soo sweet. Than he mashed up the falafal amost like croutons and with their yumm sauces, i didnt miss the rice at all. I am gonna be a regular here. The people who run this place actually cares, not like some other cart food guys who are just too rude to bother. And the food, best falafal ever. U have to try it to believe me. Moist and crispy at the same time perfect is the world. Kiddos to these guys…

My family came in to visit for the Holiday and wanted some gyros. I found Halalish on Unilocal and called to see if they delivered. I had no idea it was a cart and they were closing very soon, but Shack was so accommodating and offered his suggestions and we couldn’t have been happier. We still talk about this meal to this day. So happy we found this place, just wish I actually lived in BH to enjoy this more. Told all my BH friends though, hopefully they can enjoy as much as I did. :) Shukria!!!

I liked their chicken and lamb combo over rice. Not quite as good as the famous halal guys or Freddy but most certainly a notch above any random cart you’ll run across in the city. I’d come back to try one of their sandwiches; they have pretty interesting options.

Just finished eating my chicken avocado burger and I want more. This is my second time eating Halalish and I can’t wait to go back because each time, their food hits the spot. Their food is store-front quality but it’s not store front priced, like Shake Shack. The avocado burger I had was not your typical chicken burger. It was just a tinge American but the way they cooked the chicken a little spice(but not spicy) and their custom sauce plus I LOVE avocado, for five bucks, it was just all so good, I had to write a run on sentence about it. Plus the people inside the cart are so nice. Loved talking to them, they’re so interesting. I keep forgetting to get their names though. But shout out to the three that I’ve talked to! Definitely recommend you to try them.

Really good and fresh ingredients for a food cart. Might be some of the best street meat I’ve had. They certainly load you up on the rice, though. I end up feeling like that’s all I’m eating sometimes.

We were visiting from Cali. Went because of the rating. I thought no way it could have 5 stars(no food place has 5 stars) this place deserves it. Best meal in NY aside from Julianas Pizza. But Halalish was also the cheapest meal in the city. Fed a family of 5 for right around $ 30 and had tons of left overs. The burgers were great. The lamb was great. The chicken was great. Kids were gobbling the food down and they are picky eaters. Super close to Brooklyn Bridge Marriott. If your visiting TRYITOUT!!!

It’s hard to earn a 5 star rating as a food cart. However this place does it. The owner, Z., is on site and he collects orders, takes all the money and greets you when you arrive. He’s a cool dude and is super friendly. His food is good too. The ingredients are organic and his rice is on point. Higher quality than competing carts. His mint sauce also sets them apart. Well done Z.

Incredibly fresh food. The spiced basmati rice was light and chewy with bits of cumin throughout. Grilled chicken with onions was just the right flavor and tasted great. Best part was the triple combo of white, green, and red sauce. The hot sauce is not actually hot. It tastes more savory. Green mint sauce adds a nice touch to the whole dish. Lastly, the salad is not the boring iceberg lettuce that comes with every halal cart. It looks like they expect you to eat it.(and I did finish it, it tasted wonderful with the cherry tomatoes). It cost me just SIXDOLLARS. Greatest deal in the city. RUN don’t walk. I’ve tried all kinds of chicken over rice. Sammys Halal, 53rd and 6th, King Falafel, Rafiqi’s. This cart does the basics really well and does not skimp on the small details. They also have fish !

I’d never thought I would say this about a food cart, but Halalish is not only great food and great service but is an experience all in itself. The cart uses fresh, organic ingredients to make the Halal experience better tasting yet somehow the same price($ 6 platters). The chicken is «cage free» and chunky and tastes fresh. Rice is authentic. Sauces are incredible. I would recommend the mint sauce. Owner stands outside and collects the money to ensure cleanliness. Cook never touches the $. The owner and I stood and talked for 10 minutes about his vision while the cook made my chicken avocado burger fresh on the grill. This guy is the real deal. He strives for customer satisfaction and doing business the right way. Halalish really puts other halal carts and almost all other food vendors to shame! No where else can you get a fresh, organic, full-plate of food for $ 6! Way to go Ze! Best of luck! I know you’ll kill it!

Wow. I never thought I would ever rate a cart 5 stars! Yet here I am looking at the empty container and wishing there was more so that I could eat it later. I am literally filled to the brim. The woman who ordered before me picked the chicken and I got the chance to see how good that looked. I certainly was not expecting this level of goodness. The salad was a spring mix with romaine, cherry tomatoes, onions and peppers. All of the items in the salad were fresh and crisp– no wilted lettuce. The lamb… oh, dear God, the lamb. I’m at a loss for words. Just order the lamb. The rice was perfect, not hard, nor mushy with hints of aromatic spices. I purposely walked out of my way to give these guys a chance and I’m so glad that I did. Their customer service is awesome as they were both friendly and thorough. A huge plus is that they are extremely clean. Love it.

I’ve lived in Astoria for 3 years prior to moving to Brooklyn to go to law school. I tried just about every halal cart in NYC — from Queens to BK to Manhattan. I can confidently say that this cart is, without a doubt, the best halal cart I’ve been to. The ingredients are always fresh and the people are always friendly. They have someone outside at all times collecting the money for sanitary reasons. They have a wide range of options aside from just the simple chicken/lamb and rice. I’d recommend that anyone who is either turned off to halal food because of past experiences or just a fiend for any type of meat + white sauce… to try this place. I have pretty high standards for food and I wasn’t disappointed.

Falafel($ 5) was good and fresh. Apparently there’s a spicier sauce and a veggie burger in the works. Chicken smelt amazing, it’s organic too. Thanks guys, will be back Located just in front of Brooklyn law school
