Maybe I just unfortunately picked a not-as-good dish, but their eel noodle soup isn’t… incredible. Soup was a little too salty for my tastes, and the eel could have been cooked better. Might give this place another shot, but only if i’m dragged there by a friend or something

When I am craving Fujian cuisine, this is my restaurant of choice. The food here is reminiscent of the home-cooked meals my mom would make for our family when I was younger. I always order the three dish and one soup deal for $ 16.95. You definitely need to know Fuzhou dialect or Mandarin to order from here however, as this deal is only written out in Mandarin. Also, the people who work here do not know any English whatsoever. I don’t know the name of the dishes in English, but I always order a soup(top), vegetable(left), fish(bottom), and spare ribs(right). I order the soup with tofu and and clam and it is always hot and flavorful. They make the soups when you order unlike some places that leave their soups there all day. The vegetable(Chinese spinach?) is cooked with garlic so I actually eat it, despite the fact that I usually don’t like vegetables. The fish(boneless whiting fish?) isn’t my favorite dish, but my sister loves it so I always get it when I come with her. My personal favorite dish, the spare ribs, is cooked with a delicious sauce and topped with a vegetable I actually like, cauliflowers. I love dipping the fish and the Chinese spinach in the spare rib sauce, which is the perfect mixture of sweet and salty. There is no delivery fee, so definitely give this place a call! It doesn’t take long for the food to arrive and they are open pretty late.

Interesting Fujian/Cantonese restaurant at the end of 8th avenue. They are open early enough to serve breakfast(9am) and late enough for late night eats(3am). You can order FJ style breakfast from 9AM-3PM, $ 4 lunch specials(ie: pork chop over rice w/tea egg and soup) and plenty of dinner specials. I recommend staying away from the American style dishes(chicken and broccoli is booby trapped at $ 9 a pop) and opt for the secret dinner menu(in chinese only). $ 12.95 for 2 dishes and 1 soup and $ 4 more for each additional plate… this is a tremendous value since the dishes are regular sized and it includes seafood! The staff does not speak English and you might find the late night crowd a little sketchy so YMMV.
