Johnny’s Pizza

I have had take out pizza from Johnny’s for about 30 years now and it has always been very repeatable, great crust, great pizza.

I’m not a fan of pan pizza but was a really Good pizza friendly atmosphere super clean good chicken wings great cannoli great parking lot the grinders are really big and tasty

It was at first hard to find. Tucked away
In a shopping center off to the side.
I had pasta with a meatball and sausage
The meatball was large and tender but it
Had little taste, the sausage was over cooked and hard. The sauce was o k
Not great.
I would give them a second chance ‚
Because I only had one item there
But I’m no hurry, there are other places
Around to try first.
(only had take out)

Husband had Veal Parmesan dinner and loved it. I ordered the chicken gyro and couldn’t eat it. Chicken was dry and diced. Difficult to eat. Have had better.

To me, there is nothing more satisfying than a good hearty Italian grinder (a.k.a. Italian hoagie) when the tangy craving hits. Johnny’s pizza serves up a clean honest Italian grinder about the length of my arm (for a large). At JP, you get exactly what you ask for: layers of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and condiment. So far I’ve ordered it three times here and each time I make new additions/​modifications. This time it was Italian grinder with lettuce, tomato, cheese, fresh onions, oregano, and vinegar & oil, not toasted. Next time I will request extra extra vinegar/​oil to turn it into my little taste of heaven. I ordered the small size this time, and it’s perfectly portioned for a filling meal. Also, another reason I keep returning here is that the owners/​workers seem so friendly with the customers, exuding the undeniable small town charm.

Awesome the pizza was amazing and the bbq wings was to die for. Omg I would so recommend them and the girl was awesome, she brang my food outside to me.

This place has amazing pizza. I’ve been going here for years. But now that ownership has changed, I am extremely disappointed in the tzatziki sauce used for the gyros. Before johnny retired, he made amazing sauce, evrn gave me the recipe. (I wish I wrote it down) Now the sauce is plain yogurt with garlic powder in it. Disgusting! New Owners: Whatever you need to do you get the original recipe, you should and follow it to a T. Other than that the food is great.

This place has been one of my favorites for years it’s sad to see Johnny retire which he deffinitly should of done it a few years back but he passed it down to great and hardworking guys I’m so glad the new owner is going in the right direction. Always great food atmosphere and service and is cheap too!!! It’s been Best restaurant around here and it still remains the best even the Connecticut magazine rated this place number one pizza in the state. Thank you for being here guys…

Really good pizza and super friendly staff. I recommend the baked potato pizza but you won’t be disappointed with the others either.

Johnny’s is an area staple establishment. Family owned and operated you will always find one of the family behind the counter with a smile and a «Hows your momma?!»
They have the best pizza in town, and its not quite like any other. Always amazing and consistent which is important. Their specialty pizzas are amazing, with the best potato pizza bar none.
All the food is served hot and fresh. The menu is fairly limited and simple, but that’s part or the charm and what makes it that much more down home. They know what they do and they do it well.

Great friendly staff. Wonderful girls greet you at the door. Good atmosphere.
You can enjoy your food here, or take out.
The pizza is outstanding, and they are very generous with all the toppings, and the grinders, and chicken are huge, and tasty. You can’t go wrong with Johnny’s.

This is a family owned and operated establishment. They respond to customers as if they are truly complimented with your visit. Johnny, or his son, are usually at the cash register (the hub of the place) and insure everyone is happy with the food and service. The place is a classic.

Yes, KFC is across the street, but for Great fried chicken and outstanding steak fries, try Johnny’s. I haven’t had the pizza, but if it’s as good as the chicken, you’re all set!
