Kalinka Gifts is a small, cramped store that takes up a corner of Brighton Beach Avenue. But despite its small size, the place is a veritable treasure chest. The staples of the shop are Russian trinkets: matreshkas, handpainted spoons and boxes, malachite jewelry. But the shop also carries trinkets from all over the globe: world-famous Murano glass art, European statuettes, gorgeous clocks from Switzerland, and everything else you can possibly think of. The stock changes all the time. If you see something you like, grab it, don’t wait until next week: chances are, it won’t be there! The store gets new and unique things in every week, and once they’re gone, you will probably never see them again. Considering the uniqueness of most of the products in the store, it’s no surprise that the prices can sometimes be quite steep. But there’s quite a big price range, and right next to some magical trinket for $ 200 you can always find something just as magical and beautiful for under $ 20.
