I bought an engagement ring here and within months, thought that it was poor quality. The diamond fell out and the customer service when the diamond fell out was poor. Basically, I was told that I could pay to have the ring fixed(they could not even give me a ballpark on how much that would be). When I told them it was obviously a bad ring and that I would want to trade it for another, I was told that I could do that(after paying to have it fixed) as long as my new ring was twice as much as the original ring. So I could basically pay more money to the place that sells shitty jewelry with terrible customer service. No thanks. I’d do better to pawn off my broke ass ring and put the money towards something with quality.

Don’t be taken in by the initially smooth customer service. I brought a tiny white gold cross that belonged to my mom and was missing one of its 4 tiny diamond studs to Kay’s for a repair, and the guy there was super nice and very attentive. I needed a gold chain for it too, and he meticulously went over the selection with me until we found one that I liked. He told me that they’d call with a price quote on the diamond repair within a week, and that he expected the job wouldn’t take more than 2 – 3 weeks tops. Two weeks later I come back to check in on the progress. I was told that it was scheduled to be ready on February 10th. This stud was the size of a pen tip, I wondered what could be taking so long, and asked them to try to rush it because my mom was very sick. They told me they’d see what they could do and sent me off again. The following week I call to see if they have any updates on the due date. Now apparently it was going to be ready on February 12th. I ask them again to please try to rush the job, and they say, no guarantees but we’ll try. Finally, this past Tuesday they called and told me the cross was ready for pick-up. I was unable to actually go in to pick it up during the week because everything was crazy, so I finally sent my husband to pick it up today. He came back with the cross, no chain… and no repair. I was kind of stunned, and he said that that their call earlier in the week was actually to let me know that I could come to pick it up because the repair specialist was refusing to do the job. So basically, don’t bother bringing your stuff to Kay’s for repair, because the service is flaky, you might die waiting for it to get done. Needless to say, I’m not planning on ever going there for any other jewelry shopping either.

Do not go to this branch. For both my engagement and wedding band they promise me the rings on a specific date and fail to deliver. They of course blame it on ups but if it was ones then that’s one thing but it’s multiple times that they do this. My engagement ring needed to be sent back 2 times and both times they promise me my ring on a specific day and when I show up they do not have it. Same with my wedding bands. If you promise me the ring on this day, do not give me bull about it being the fault of ups. Do not buy their products unless u want a headache!!!

The location of this store probably adds to the snobbish rude customer service I experienced when I came in. I also wasn’t shopping for a diamond so I was immediately relegated to wait until they decided I was worth their time. If I didn’t have a lifetime guarantee on my watch battery, I would say I’ll never go back but since my battery seems to die every 12 months, sadly I’ll probably be back for more poor service! This is a chain store I wouldn’t shop for fine jewelry from anyways so the occasional hassle of this place is worth the free repair and replacement battery on my Seiko watch.(ps I needed to get an opal earring, but was turned off with their customer service)
