If you are looking for some delicious food that will fill your belly I would say stop at Kreyol Flavor try them out but be prepared to take some home because the portion are huge(dinner plates) can serve 2 people. I can tell you that every time I go to NYC I stop at Kreyol Flavor to get all my favorite authentic Haitian dishes because they do not have Haitian restaurants in Maryland. My favorite is griot(fried Pork) and Beans and Rice, or Tassot(fried Goat) I would recommend anything thing from this restaurant you won’t be disappointed. And the prices are reasonable. So if you are hungry and in the area give them a try

The food is really good! But… Natasha is an employee that is very rude. They should keep her in the back because customer service is not her strong suit. She got upset because I asked to buy extra pikleze. Fortunately for her there was a young lady working with her who tried to turn the service around. Although it was clearly apparent that young lady was fustrated with her teammate lack of help, she was able to assist me. This occurred one month ago

The stewed chicken is probably one of my favorite meals, anywhere, ever! If you get the large order its quite a deal walking away with pounds of food for $ 11. Ask for the pickelese(spelling?) its an excellent hot sauce-esque mix.

Pros: Food was very good. You get a lot for a good price. Me and my son shared a dinner and still had left overs. My daughter also ordered and for both dinners I paid like $ 22. They have a really good passion fruit punch too! Place is clean, comfortable and they had a nice vibe of music. Cons: The ladies that work there are unapprochable. I was with a hatian friend so I asked him to order for me because I felt like I was a bother to them and they were kinder to him. I had to walk to the gas station up the block for an atm after nastily being told«cash only» I would go back but most likely just to grab food to go.

First time ever trying Haitian food, and I thought it was kinda lacking in comparison to other Caribbean countries. Even though the portions are massive, I thought the food was okay. Rice and beans were nothing special, while the chicken stew needed more spice in it. I loved the décor though, it seemed like stepping into a Caribbean café with all the art on the wall and the music. If the food was better this place would be a gem!

Food is decent, but yet very expensive compared to other Haitian restaurants. Make sure to get an accurate price check for your order as they tend to change from what is told to you over the phone verses when you go in. I’ve had this run-in twice.

The food is good. I haven’t been this appointed it has been consistent. The pictures are very nice and the décor is on point. Only one issue how you don’t have anymore rice and peas!!! It was around 6PM like that’s the main thing ppl would order from a haitian restaurant. This actually happened to me twice and the second time I was offered white rice or wait 20 – 30 mins for rice to be cooked. Besides they could really stream line the service such as the ordering process and the cashier area. It gets a little hectic on that end. Food is good though ENJOY!

Holy smokes the food is fabulous. We have been here a few times and it seems to get better each visit. Order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. Dining is not fancy… But the food is over the top delish! Although ! I always want to try something new I continue to go right back to the oxtails and my guy always gets the griot. The rice and peas is heaven on earth… not to mention the fresh sides potatoe, macaroni and tossed salad with beets are consistently fresh and tasty. Outside of one visit I had an up ripen tomato. The service is slowwwwwww– but def worth the wait. Prices are fair $ 12-$ 14 For a large plate with the exception of lumbi which is $ 20.00 a real Haitian delicacy and also said to be a major aphrodisiac. Here’s the insiders tip. If you’re dining in still order your food to go . The takeout portions are almost double in size. I was offered this info by several regulars and it’s true, plenty to take home. When I asked the young lady in charge why are the portions so different in size, she said our dine in plates are small. Overall excellent food, very clean, fair prices and attentive staff. If you’re in the area or are in search of good Haitian food Kreyol Flavor will not disappoint. Enjoy.

Wow, what a great find! The food was delicious! We’ve been searching for Oxtail to match our favorite local Cuban restaurant which closed down and this came in a very close second. The Griot is almost as good as Mommy Lou’s, the best Haitian cook I ever met. All the food had just the right amount of piqué and the picales also had the right amount of hot. Can’t wait to be in the neighborhood again to stop by and try the chicken stew.

I love discovering new restaurants for my favorite cuisine… Haitian. I loved the name and décor. It’s located not too far from the Flatbush Junction in Brooklyn. I ordered a small plantains with baked chicken and akra which came with picales(hot peppers) then quenched my thirst with a kola lacaye. Bön mange/Good food. I’ll even admit that I felt the urge to dance but immediately sat down to avoid embarrassing myself. I was impressed, happy to add this restaurant to my growing list of Haitian hotspots across Brooklyn. It’s a small space, but very hip and young with beautiful artwork.

Passed this spot many times and finally last friday at 9 decided to stop in. I was in the mood for some Griot –fried pork & fried plantain. Very nice atmosphere, more upscale sit down Haitian spot, staff very professional, had a nice little line – always a good sign I ended up ordering Tasso(turkey meat I think – and fried plantain. Excellent. not too greasy, flavorful, and good portion. I’m def coming back to try their oxtail, I heard other customers on line ordering it so I’ll prolly re-review this spot again.

I love food, which should be evident based on my many food based reiews. This place is amazing. I told the girl ordering that I am new to Haitian cuisine and to surprise me and she delivered. The chicken and rice was A-MAAAA-ING. She laughed when I compliments the restaurant. Clean and the place to go for good food. Try this place!

My mother was actually the one, who put me on about this place. The best thing about the meals is that most of them(only a few times) are not filled with a bunch of grease like most Haitian places I go to. I’m half Haitian so I’ve received good Haitian that’s never covered in grease. So when my mother found a place that serves good food she never had to travel again whenever she is in the mood for Haitian food, and doesn’t want to cook. We both use to travel to get delicious Haitian food. Since this place serves food hat is not bad there has been less travel. Overall food here is pretty good, but nothing special.

Finally found a haitian restaurant that is great! from the food to the service to the cleanliness I am happy! I had the red snapper with rice and beans with the amazing beat salad! so fresh and so good! i’ve also tried the oxtail, I am jamaican so i can honestly say this is some good oxtail!!! The place is so clean from the bathroom to the beautiful dining area along with the upkeep of the place in general. The owner was so nice and friendly and truly cares about his customers!
