Cultural appropriation to the nth degree. There is not one korean dining and/or preparing the food here. I feel extremely awkward in this dining room.

What have these people never heard of salt? Also cash only after 2 years is kind of ridiculous. Bi im bop was tasteless. I was persuaded to choose the $ 2 extra hot bowl for crispy rice. Bad move on my part. Because this made the bowl and its contents so unbelievably hot that my girlfriend and I couldn’t eat our food for 40 minutes. So after burning our mouths trying hard to eat the banal rice bowl after the terrible tasteless and cold sides we had to pay through the teeth for a stomach ache. Thanks dokebi. Never again.

Gotta love the aesthetic. Their Korean tacos and burritos are straight up sinful, I always have to talk myself out of eating seven tacos. Totally would though. The staff is great too

We love this place, can’t recall how many times we have been back. The wings are delicious and the bibimbap is a must.

The food is great. Excellent menu. Great outdoor seating. The prices are just high enough where being cash only is a total lame bummer. It really sucks to have to use an over-priced ATM to pay for a meal. We’re all adults here.

We went for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn’t at all crowded, there were a few full tables outside and only 3 other tables with customers inside, besides us. Nice intimate ambiance. Ordered the KFC — Korean Fried Chicken — wings to share and we each ordered a Korean BBQ burrito, the Kalbi for me and Pork shoulder for my boyfriend. The burritos were very good! Great flavor and very filling! I’d love to tell you how the wings were because they looked really good(I was eyeing the food a nearby table ordered). Losing a star here for service… burritos arrived but no sign of the wings. We asked our server several times, kept getting a vague«it’s coming» answer. He finally told us it would be another 10 minutes, when we were basically done with our burritos. At that point we just cancelled them and got the check(which he seemed really annoyed about, when there had clearly been a mistake either with putting in or making the order, not our fault). The food was good enough that I would probably try this place again and just hope for better service.

Terrible overall. Imitation Korean food for hipsters looking for culinary culture. Fried chicken was decent. But when is it not? Kimchi fried rice was a joke. Who puts broccoli in Korean fried rice? Had subzero taste. Note to the hypochondriacs: the way they wash(or not) the dishes is stomach-churning. Also slower than snails in the winter. Not recommended.

Tried this place for the first time and the bartender was really nice so it made my experience better but I absolutely spent $ 25 on fried chicken wings and what I thought was rice, that turned out being sour/spicy cabbage ;/it was called Kimchee or sumthing like that… Yukk! They should give all the American patrons a warning that the amount of spicy is on WTF? Lol… I threw the entire bowl out after paying $ 14 bucks for it and didn’t even feel all that bad about it smh… But the wings were everything they rave about! I got the ginger and ate Alllllll 8 little tiny pieces since I was still hungry,… I’ll be back but not for ANY thing else but those wings! Lol! I’m sure this is an amazing spot for Korean food as there was barely an empty seat to sit at… loved the ambiance and the to-go set of chopsticks!

I am definitely not a spicy food fanatic but from time to time(this is like twice a month) I crave for their AMAZING fried chicken. Also a fan of their gyoza and bibimbap(«can you please not make it superspicy? Thanks!»). The sides they give you at the beginning of the meal are as cute as tasty too. Very nice spot in a corner of the beautiful McGolrick Park. Will be coming back.

The hot KFC(Korean fried chicken) is a heat that builds, the first bite is tolerable but the further you get down the rabbit hole the more intense the heat gets. Excellent service and flavorful food make this a quality dining experience. Just be aware that it’s cash only!!!

While neither times I went to go eat at Little Dokebi did I take the BBQ option(no reservation), I enjoyed it so much that I actually ate the leftovers I took home. Both times I got bi bim bap, and pls, for your sake, add the dolsut option — the hot bowl makes the rice get reallllly crispy at the bottom. It’s a dish I dream about, no matter what protein option I’ve tried. The service is always wonderful, and there’s nothing objectionable about the atmosphere either. I plan on going back for the BBQ one day… when i remember to get a reservation.

So far my fav. Korean in the neighborhood, Small but open and well-ventilated space, a lot less claustrophobic than, say, Dotory. Bibimbaps, appetizers and kimchi(I’m not a fan normally) were all impressive. Decent –if slightly pricy– sake options.

When I went: 12:30pm on a Friday(No wait) What I had: Pork belly taco, pork shoulder taco, kalbi taco and the Korean fried chicken(KFC) with the soy ginger glaze. What I thought: Place is tiny on the inside and best for smaller parties of 4 or less. They also have sidewalk seating. Tacos were pretty run of the mill compared with what you can get out on the west coast(Kogi, Komex). Best of the bunch was the kalbi followed by the pork shoulder and the pork belly(oddly dry for such a fatty piece of meat). The highlight of the meal was the KFC which costs $ 10 but comes with 8 delicious wings/drumettes and is totally worth it. Nice and crispy and the soy ginger glaze is complimentary rather than overpowering. Pair it with a nice beer and enjoy! Overall Summary: Nice place to hit up if you’re in the Greenpoint area and want a decent bite to eat for lunch or a late dinner.

Little Dokebi is a teeny tiny Korean-inspired restaurant in Greenpoint. As we walked up to it my friend noted it looked like an English pub. When we went inside(sat at the bar as there were only two of us) the décor had some Asian influence but felt like the Midwest. Add that to the playlist that blasted country-western through the entirety of our meal and you’ve got a pretty good mix going on here. With that said, I did not go into this expecting real Korean food. I commend the taco choices and the funky brunch menu. I really wanted to love my food especially given the positive response on here. Unfortunately, it was only ok. My kalbi taco was good, although it had perhaps a spoonful of finely chopped meat. The flavor of the marinade was pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. The pork shoulder taco was a major disappointment, the pork was severely overcooked. My friend enjoyed her kimchee/rice egg burrito thing, though! And I enjoyed my kimchee«michelada» as something different to drink. We did get some KFC(spicy) as a side and it was also good. It wasn’t as crispy as I am used to my double-fried Korean chicken being but the flavor had the signature slow burn and sweet notes. The service was super slow, it appears to be cooks and one person serving/tending bar. She was sweet but it seemed like things would slip her mind and task/table prioritization was a little off. Definitely skip this place if you’re in a hurry or have a short temper, but good if you just want to relax and take your time. Also worth noting — there were soo many kids in here. I don’t mind children and I love when people continue to live their lives post-kid(and when establishments aren’t jerks about bringing kids in), but it resulted in a VERY loud meal where we could hardly hear each other speak. So, good if you want to bring your kid or someone you don’t like listening to — bad for an intimate brunch date. All in all, if I lived in the neighborhood I would eat there, drink there, or get wings for takeout(as we saw a few neighborhood dudes doing) but I don’t think I’d go out of the way to eat here again.

Got the chicken bibimbap with the hot sauce and it was amazing. As for all bibimbaps you should ask for a dish on the side so you can actually eat it without overcooking your food. They also bring out little appetizers before your meal that are good. Cash only, they have an ATM but it is 2015 come on, who only accepts cash today? The place is also small.

Best Korean food I’ve ever had? Probably not, but pretty damn good and overall this place gets most things right. I like that menu has a smattering of classic Korean options and it’s got hipsterified tacos for the less adventurous. Scallion pancake surprisingly worthwhile. The wings are damn good. Drink menu is diverse but succinct. Doesn’t skimp on the complimentary Banchan dishes. Kind of hidden in north Greenpoint but the ambiance is really intimate and cute. It would be nice if they took reservations, employed a landline and took plastic but if it’s worth sucking all that up again and again that’s got to be saying something. Just go on an off-time or you will be waiting. ***Addendum – they used to have mini-anchovies including in their Banchan. Bring these back they were awesome!

Was the best Korean Fried Chicken I have ever had. The wings had the perfect amount of crunch and coating, and my dining companion said, «they are just a little too spicy, which is perfect.» I agreed. I also liked the décor. It was a cool place. I didn’t love the kimchi stew, but that may have been a matter of preference. When the bill came, I was surprised at how little it cost actually, which is always nice, and certainly factors into my review! Oh, good banchan too.

This place is so much fun. It’s a little weird too, a little hipster vibe, beautiful dark interior, with a no-frills Korean fusionish menu. The inside is decorated wonderfully. And even from the outside you might not think it’s a Korean place at all. Actually, now that I think of it, no one that works there is Asian. The food is pretty good. I would give it a 4⁄5. I’ve had a ton of Korean/mexican fusion food in California and New York, but this was just ‘pretty good’. I wouldn’t say it’s a must, even the KFC was ‘pretty good’, but again nothing to write home about. The spicy pork burrito was great! And I tried the kimchi pancake which is always on point. The banchan was pretty good. I liked that they served the fried fishies even in hipstertown Greenpoit. Really what did it for me, was the nice service and watermelon soju. If you love watermelon, this is it folks. Best drink ever. Also, don’t be in a rush, the kitchen is a little slow(because it’s small and it’s probably manned by 1 – 2 people at any time).
