Great backyard, especially for watching games. Unfortunately, I cannot get past the smoking. Half the backyard is dedicated to smokers, even under covered areas. The bar has potential if management eliminated the smoker trash and cared about the health of their classier clientele.

Just ordered food, it did come on time but the food was gross. I ordered the bbq rib& chicken combo, a pulled pork sandwich and wings. Food was ice cold. Flavorless. Chicken tasted as though it was baked, not even salt or pepper on It. Whatever«bbq» sauce was on the wings and pulled pork tastes like ketchup. Very expensive and definitely not worth it. 1st& last time I will ever eat this crap. If this is this is what they consider bbq they have it all wrong !!

Loved this bar! Only been there once but it was a great atmosphere, great music & the backyard with the seats was great as well. Only bad thing was that they ran out of Hennessy :(but that’s Okay cause we all had a great time. OH& btw, the DJ plays a little bit of every genre of music which was a good thing. :-) Definitely going back here soon!

Lone star truly is the ONLY true sports bar in Bay Ridge. $ 50 all you can eat and drink for the Sunday games is insane. The owner tony cares about everyone that walks through the doors. You know it’s good when the owner himself is grilling food for the games. Notable foods: the slider platter, Mac and cheese bites, chicken tenders, and wings. Can’t imagine going anywhere else to watch football. There are about 20 televisions outside alone! I feel like every time I come here there are more televisions and/or upgrades.

Believe it or not, my first time here last night to watch the Giant game. Outdoor patio is fantastic to watch any sporting event. Tons of TVs & no matter where you sit you have a gr8 view. Food was yummy & being with friends who smoke, being able to was a treat for them. All you can eat Sunday buffet looked delicious with plenty of food. Roaring fire was a nice touch. Beer pong was fun to watch. Staff was very friendly & attentive. Definitely recommend & definately go back again.

Tony is the most rude business owner that I’ve ever encountered. Treat your customers like you value their patronage and maybe they won’t avoid your establishment.

I’ve been to a few fundraisers here and used to order from them when I lived in Bay Ridge. I recently went back for dinner and the food and service were great. The outdoor seating in the back is great.

Honestly I don’t even know where to begin… I decided to come to Lonestar Bar & Grill with a few friends to watch the NBA game. We ordered 22 wings, beef/pork sliders w/sweet potato fries, & fries w/bacon. Our food took nearly ONEHOUR just to arrive!!! Really?!! The bar itself had about 7 patrons. When I asked about our food the bartender said it should be coming out. When it arrived the bartender apologized and said their was a lot of guests in the back. OK, at least she apologized. As if waiting for our food weren’t aggravating enough, we were seated near these two drunk guys who tried to have a conversation with us. Heyyyy we’re all about making new friends but they were throwing complete shade at my boyfriend and make inappropriate a** comments. Like dude chill the F*** out and let us enjoy the game!!! I responded and told him«that wasn’t cool.» He immediately apologized. okay whatever, all is forgiven. I’m just saying just because you work there/is hella cool with the bartenders there’s no need to make others feel uncomfortable. The last time I checked you guys tried to talked to us first. Lone Star Bar & Grill seems like a decent place to chill, just not a place for me. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. Food takes forever and not interested in dealing with nonsense! Obviously, anywhere you go will have BS but after last night I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. First and last time!

I came here several days ago to watch the«fight of the century» pffffffffft. another story for another time. Anyway, I was scouting out places and this place seemed like they had the best deal. If I’m going to pay a cover, it better have drinks included. This place did, with food, too. Over the phone, the lady told me that the open bar would start at around 8. I call the day of the event and someone tells me 9, but I should get there at 8 to make sure I have a bracelet for the open bar/food. I got there around 7:15. It wasn’t too crowded, and we got a table near a TV. Score! There were board games to keep us entertained for the next hour and 45 minutes… but then we got really bored and hungry. I asked for the menu to see if I could start off with an order of fries or something for the table… I was told the kitchen wasn’t open due to the«special menu» for the fights. Fair enough. But then when the main event started, there was a 20 minute wait for the food. The wrapped around the inside so many times. I’m sure it was well-thought out, but something with the food situation needed to be fixed. Nobody wants to pay $ 50 to watch the fight but not be able to eat almost whenever they want, and miss parts of the main event. The food, besides the ribs, wasn’t even good. The open bar made everything worth it. We got our drinks pretty fast, and got to sit back down. Drinks were strong so we didn’t have to make too many trips over to the bar. Thank goodness we got a table, because we would’ve disliked our experience here even more if we had to stand admist the huge crowd that had gathered in there. I would love to come back here when there isn’t some big sports event going on. But when there is an event, it’s just too hectic and too much of a headache to deal with the crowds(yes, crowds everywhere, I know) for the amount you pay. If they could get the food situation figured out better, I would reconsider.

For a bar that at best is a 5 across the board you would think the owner Tony Gentile would be more pleasant but that definitely is not the case. He is very rude and crass… Flood is OK at best, the wait staff gives their best effort but can only do so much with what they’re given. Yes they have a lot of screens and big back patio, but with the owner walking around like your lucky to be there its not worth the time. Do yourself a favor and go down the street where there is much better food service and hospitality.

Best place to watch the game, bring friends, have a party, etc! The huge outdoor backyard is about the same size as the inside and its HUGE!!! I love this place! Great food great atmosphere, great house DJ on certain nights. I definately recommend this place to anyone looking to go out and have a few drinks or to watch the game by themself or with a group of friends. Big screen TV’s positioned in all the perfect positions, so no matter if your standing or sitting you’ll get a great view.

Lone Star is kind of Texas themed, but mostly not. The walls have more New York sports memorabilia than anything. But I guess at the end of the day, I really don’t care either way because it’s a solid sports bar. Tons of TVs, though when I was there, they tuned them all to the same game while others were going on. There are definitely regulars who come here, and you’ll be able to spot them from a mile away. The back of the bar has some old quarter slot machine style games, which is pretty retro. Surprisingly good beer selection too.

Their ribeye is delicious. It’s got garlic butter on top! Fries are done just right, beer is poured well. The service was fast, and our waitress was very sweet. I’m not really a Texas kind of girl, so honestly the attitude of the place and the décor really annoyed me. Bottom line: good food, if you can stand the loud, drunken bros at the table next to you.

Lone Star provided one of the best bar experiences I’ve had in a while. I stumbled in looking for an outdoor space to drink in after The Lock Yard was closed for a private party. The outdoor space was huge but was packed because of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. One of the workers told us to wait a couple of minutes and performed some magic to accommodate my party of 10 with a table. After this, we found out you could get a 100 oz beer tower for only $ 25 bucks and the night only went uphill from there. The food was solid and affordably priced. At the end of night the lovely waitress split our checks for us-without us asking-for a party of 10. What a saint. I will definitely be coming back.

Out of all the bars dotting Bay Ridge, Lone Star is one that I regretfully do not visit as much as I would like. Sparsely decorated and modest – yet spacious and perfect for a casual tshirt-and-jeans kind of night. I never knew this, but the barbecue here is fairly impressive – get the pork ribs, which are tender and deliciously slathered with a perfect layer of barbecue sauce. You can’t go wrong with curly fries EVER, and this together makes for a pretty rockin’ meal. Taking it a step further, go for the sweet chili chicken tenders and hungrily snatch them up before the half-drunk friends you are sharing them with realize how good they are. In the summer, the outside patio opens up which completes the formula for a good night. The owners are stellar people as well, and this kind of set-up is what makes Bay Ridge the place to be.

Well now I know why it’s called Lone Star. Went here to enjoy a unseasonable warm day with some friends in the open backyard for lunch. We ordered appetizers to share which included buffalo wings, Mac and cheese bites, and a rack of baby back ribs. The wings were good pretty standard crispy with a little kick. Mac and cheese bites were disappointing, just triangle shaped Kraft Mac n cheese covered in soggy breading. The ribs, now this is were this place earns it’s keep. Wow just wow. These things must have been 2 weeks old, they were dry, fatty, and tough. Could there be a worse type of rib? Just don’t eat here do your self the favor. It’s a decent place to come watch a game and have a beer but come full or expect to pay for freezer section quality food that’s not even executed to substandard degree.

Staff holiday party was held here for the past two years. Decent bar fare and drinks. the staff are friendly and don’t get completely annoyed with the amount of people associated with our group hounding them for drinks. They have a great back patio that we don’t get to truly partake in b/c we come during December. If you’re there with a group you’re gonna have fun.
