Looming Rehearsal

I absolutely love this place. The rehearsal spaces are cheap, the dude who runs the space is nice and easy to deal with, and the equipment is complete /​functional. There are rehearsal spaces in the city with better gear, but since this place is like, ¼ of the cost of those spaces and much more DIY /​low key I call Looming every time.

Awesomely flexible hourly practice space with late hours and the best rates I’ve seen anywhere in BK.
Both rooms have two guitar amps, a bass amp, and a full drum kit. The gear’s been knocked around a bit, but everything works.
Keith, the guy who runs the space, is super cool, helpful, and not the least bit douchey about starting/​ending late (unless, of course, you’re effing up someone else’s practice time).

I’ve tried at least 9 hourly studios throughout NYC and Looming is like no other. Most importantly, the guy that runs it— Keith, is the complete opposite of all those soulless, pretentious malcontents that work at the other studios and treat every little request like a back-​breaking burden. Keith is a rare gem in that he actually, truly CARES about whether or not you are comfortable and have everything you need when you are in one of his rooms. and he proves it time and time again. Friendly and helpful as hell, he is always around and readily available if you have any questions or problems. He’s as reasonable as they come and his rates are significantly lower than anywhere else I’ve ever seen in the city. Simply put, no rehearsal studio has ever felt like home the way Looming does. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Give this dude a ring. And buy him a drink sometime– he deserves it. He likes scotch. The GOOD stuff.

this place is where rock meets roll. clean, safe neighborhood, easy access, well located. great rates, great neighbors, friendly landlord that will work with you if you are late on rent!!! …and the power never gets shut off! what more could you ask for!!!
