This is in no way a pizza restaurant, which the Unilocal title states. It is a home cookin’ Ecuadorian restaurant serving authentic eats, and I do not recommend going out of your way to try it. The storefront and the interior looks shady and the employees are usually seated in the dining area eating food, drinking soda, and watching TV. Which makes for a friendly and inviting dining area. The staple item you will find in every dish here is canned, room temperature hominy. It is on top of everything and under everything, you cannot escape it. As soon as you are seated, you are given a large photo menu and a plate of chicharron on top of hominy. All of the large platters here are pricey, like around $ 16, and they are cash only, so expect to spend a bit of money to eat here. I ordered a Guanabana Milkshake, which was awesome. My platter was more of a breakfast platter with smoked spicy sausage, potato cakes, hominy, fried egg, salad, and a slice of avocado. My husband has their $ 12 version of beef stir fry with white buttered rice and sweet plantain. The beef was tough and gross and the sauce tasted like ketchup. It was tragic. I would definitely come back for a milkshake to go, and maybe give another dish a try. But, this place is like Time Square expensive…
