OMG! This place is horrible. The service was terrible. Rude staff. As soon as I walked in the staff was ready to get me and my friends out. There was hair in my food AND hair in my drink! I complained and the waiter snatched everything off the table spilling the drink on my shoes. They didn’t bring me back my food and already placed the bill on the table. I’ll never go back to this place and I suggest you don’t go either.

great experience here. my boyfriend and I love the food, the people and the drinks. never had a problem and we have not experienced anything but nice people and good food!

Love coming here. The food is great and so is the service. The atmosphere is also fun and welcoming and cozy. The food tho really is amazing and if u love Mexican food then def check this place out

Its got amazing food to try out, their décor is beautiful & it’ll take you back to a small shop back in Mexico. the layout is perfectly laid out. enough seating for everyone even for large groups. I really liked their drinks! they chips are perfect! not to crispy. or too soft. their sauce was spicy. but i loved it even more! I enjoy my dish as did my party (see images), but i was the bill was high but it was okay worth it for the food! I was a bit pissed because they don’t provide receipts. can’t come here for business meals.

Not good anymore, but still expensive. Ordered takeout last week and they gave the wrong dishes to me. 2 of 3 dishes were incorrect. Also, made fun of the way I spoke, while ordering items.

They ripped us off. Burrito, tacos and a soda: $ 50. The food is mediocre, and they nickel and dime for everything. Asked for a little side of guacamole to put on tacos, got charged $ 8! That should be like, $ 1-​$ 2. Diet coke refill was charged as another coke, and you know that’s just syrup from a machine. Honestly, I think the dudes were just fleecing us. That’s cheap, bad service.

This is my Go To for Mexican take out. Outstanding guacamole appetizer. Fresh made. I love the fajitas and the salads. Never disappointed but this is for the take out experience.

Ive been craving sangria since I arrived to new york. Who am I kidding. Im always craving sangria. Considering Im from California and new york being so much closer to spain, I thought for sure I people in New york knew a good Sangria. So following these Unilocal reviews who said this place had really good sangria (and being close to where I was staying) I decided to try this place.
Let me say this first. I was NOT coming here for the food, as I believe no place in New york will live up to my expectations of mexican food. Anyways, the sangria at this place is not good at all! It more like juice and tequila with a splash of wine. I make better sangria at home than this, and I dont make good sangria!
I ordered some nachos, because i figured how bad can those be? Pretty interesting to say the least. I ordered the nachos with the steak because it came with guacamole. The nachos I got were six (individual) triangle tortilla chips. Each with cheese, a smear of beans and a piece of steak. These are not nachos! And to top it off, there was no guacamole! I mentioned this to the waiter and he brought us a small bowl of guac and additional chips! This earned it an extra star!
Overall I wont be coming back here, but for all those who dont know what real mexican food is, this place will do.

So I came here for the first time about a week ago. I was skeptical at first but WOW was I surprised! The food was great, the service was amazing. The only problem was that it was extremely loud to the point I was screaming across the table to hear anything (which is why I took off a star). Also, margaritas are a bit pricey.

Went there Saturday at 8pm — It was 72 outside about 80+ inside — AC? a few tables around us also complained. Service was very slow and Margaritas were lacking any kind a tequila. The pouring presentation is cute at the bar but a quick pour equates to weak but still expensive drinks…
Food was ordered, I requested sour cream on the side for my Taquitos. Instead after 3 tables that arrived AFTER us got served we got out food, I did get my sour cream on the side and ON my taquitos. Somehow the 1hr wait for this bland food was turned into a 3 minute wait for new Taquitios without Sour cream. Turns out a quick flip in the kitchen solved my problem. A quick flip back at the table proved the quick fix was a hoax! My wife’s Burritos were ice cold although the server asked her to be careful of the hot plate, LOL. She asked the waiter why they were so cold perhaps because they forgot to make my dish and had hers sitting? He smiled and brought us a check. Leaving was nice we were told Thank You!!! I appreciated that… Sad to say this is the second time we lost out on a quality dinner at this establishment. We won’t be returning… Note: If you do decide to visit, don’t sit under the chandelier it is loaded with dust, we had a piece float down to out table.

Back once again. My wife and I come here a lot. The food is always good. Good atmosphere. Good service

We walked in and were seated right away. I must say the service was excellent! Waiter came right over to our table and asked what would we like to drink. My husband had the chicken chimichanga and I had the grilled chicken burrito. The food came out in a blink of an eye. It was fresh, hot and delicious. It is a small place but it is worth the stop. You will not regret it.

The only reason this place even warrants a 2 star review is because I think the idea of a guy playing songs on a guitar is the only good thing about eating the horrible food here. The service was as bland as the food, the server we had was rude, and the the drinks were overpriced. Will not be going here again, which is a shame because I love Mexican food.

Frozen vegetables in a «burrito» does not qualify as a vegetarian burrito! Horrible!!! Get it together.

Absolutely terrible experience. I had gone here a couple of times and never had a problem until one night I went with like 6 people and the waiters tried to screw us.
Our bill came too $ 200 something and they didn’t even tell us how much everything was on the bill except for the foods. They made up some bullsh*t amount for the drinks. They included their tip and didn’t tell us how much the tip was.
Then when we paid the bill, they fought with us about how we didn’t pay the whole bill when we clearly did. We ended up giving an extra $ 100 just to end it. The service wasn’t even good and the food was bland. Avoid this restaurant, so many better Mexican ones in bay ridge.

I will never go here again.

Second my sister ordered a drink some kind of Blue Sangria. When the drink arrived she told them it tasted warm even with ice in it.
They said «I can bring you another but you still have to pay for that one» I will post a picture showing the drink was full yet they never swapped it out.
Food was pretty good nothing to beag about, I have had better. Bill arrives, they were not kidding. The drink price was charged although it was never drank.
Customer service horrible! Never will return, and sooo bad I did not leave a tip, and told them why.

I’ve been to Mezcal’s a few times, being that I live in the area. The food is never disappointing nor is it anything special– it is what you would expect for Mexican in Bay Ridge. This place isn’t exactly a upscale restaurant, so the prices are expensive for what they serve. They do have a good drink selection, but the bartender seemed to skimp on the alcohol the last time I was here.
I can’t say enough about the service, though. Super attentive and nice guys.
I wouldn’t say this is my first choice for Mexican, but not a bad option.

Just an overall cluster-​f here.
I’ve ordered take out from here several times and it’s decent food.
Stopping in for lunch today resulted in a $ 40 total bill and just again, average food.
First of all the décor of this place stopped being «cute» to me years ago.
Painted colorful signs with about 200 different margarita choices at various prices in very small font size. Same kinda thing with the menu here. Unnecessarily crowded and confusing. Ended up settle on the chimichangas, which were just ok with very small sides of rice and beans.
Charged me for a refill on my soda, bumping that up to a $ 5.50 hit. Geeesh.
Overall, this places should focus the choices, and lower the prices.
