If you’re a business or just someone looking to paint your apartment, this is the store. I dare you to find a cheaper price for Ben Moore paint. And i can’t say enough about the staff. How can they work so hard but stay so friendly? Its more than just your neighborhood hardware store. They have it all and have answers to all your questions. Thanks guys. My only issue is the parking. They are very busy and sometimes you need to park down the block. You may also have to wait a bit to get served but its worth it!

So happy they are in the neighborhood. There is a lot going on there every time I visit — but each time, I’ve been taken care of right away, patiently, until I got what I needed. Every time I leave I feel confident I got the right stuff and had all my questions answered.

After coming here for years, I’m left with a bad taste in my mouth. I bought 3 cans of paint here and one was the incorrect color. I didn’t notice until I poured it out. They refused to accept the paint back and charged me full price for a new can. This was your mistake and a little consideration should have been taken to make a long time customer happy. I will not be going back nor will I recommend you guys anymore. I’m sure that’ll cost you more than the extra $ 30 bucks you got out of me.

Going to Home Depot on Lexington Avenue was a mistake. I had to knock items off of shelves to get a human to appear and beg for help. Spent too much money on stuff I didn’t love. Never again. No need. I must have walked by this small mom and pop neighborhood store a million times. It has been servicing Kensington for over 4 decades. The moment you step into the store, you are offered help. If you don’t accept it, and they find you scratching your head, they approach you, again. Can we help you find anything? Yes, please. I will never go to another store to purchase paint. They have EVERYTHING(Items Home Depot did not have) and the entire store is smaller than my apartment. Neat and clean and organized and nicely stocked. If you want it and they don’t have it, they will order it for you. Metallics, glazes, faux finishes, leather look treatments, tints, glitters, shellacs, wood stains, vanishes, spray paints, samples of them all and they answer the hard questions. «This variety has less toxic fumes for painting indoors». «A gallon saves you money because you will need three coats and 2 quarts cost more than a gallon». «You can apply the pearl glaze over it and it won’t change the base color». «Nah, no need to prime». «Use this 99 cent plastic lip to pour paint and avoid mucking up the rim so your lids won’t stick». They matched the glaze I needed from a sipping straw. «I want THIS purple», I said, handing him the straw. «No problem». They took the straw and gave me perfect mystic violet. Tears. While the paint mixed, we chatted about the best curry in the neighborhood and where we were from. I wanted to cook them all dinner. As I left, «Take care, Jennifer». But how do you know my name? I never told you? Oh, that’s right. You read it off my credit card and remembered it, because that is how these gentleman do business. And that is why they are still here after 45 years. Neighborhood Gem. Love. Go.

Very nice, very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. George serves professionals and DIY-ers alike, and everyone is treated nicely. They will answer questions and give some advice. It is worth going out of your way to shop here.

how to transform a functional, but ugly, shiny, mustard yellow colored dresser? :floor pacing ensues: :hmmm: paint the dresser, by george! o.k. what kind of crazy uses wall paint on a dresser? yup, that would be me! so i bought red, yellow, and blue(primarily) with a little side of banana leaf green. goodbye shiny mustard yellow! hello primary, matte, vivid colors! nothing like painting on the porch; and now my neighbor’s suspicions are confirmed.
