What a beautiful Trainwreck. If you come to New York don’t go see CATS on Broadway or Jersey Boys, come spend an afternoon in this restaurant. Get a cup of coffee and enjoy the show. If this place had its own TV series it would be called«Café Hate.» These employees are a mix of all of the bad kids from«Newsies» and«Annie» all working together. They really have an enjoyable hate for each other. As I got seated, there were already two of the servers congregated by the bar arguing with each other. It wasn’t one of those weird quiet whisper fights, they were going at it like a married couple of 32 years. There was swearing, accusations, snide remarks, like I was watching a daytime soap opera. I loved it. When you thought the fight was done, more employees would meet at this love spot and argue with each other. I really enjoyed that part. Now on with the food: I ordered the bake chicken lunch with mash potatoes and broccoli. I also ordered a chicken and rice soup. My server was a good man but brought me, what I think was an order of some split pea soup. I explained the mix up and he was good about it. The mash potatoes were«aiiight» and broccoli was probably just cut from its stock and placed on my plate. It was not put in any boiling hot water or seasoned at all. The chicken was ok. I didn’t hate it but I would not call it back for a second date. That was the extent of my meal. Moving on to the poor old lady sitting next me. She ordered the roast beef lunch special. Randy Macho Man Savage should’ve delivered the food himself and yelled«Need a little excitement? Snap into a Slim Jim!!!» That ladies roast beef came out looking like a mix between tree bark and those dog chew rhines you give your pit bull. She kindly explained to the waitress her issue with the Toast Beef and how it was overcooked and dry. Instead of the waitress bringing the order back, she storms in the kitchen like a young Tazmanian Devil and starts yelling at one of the line cooks. The waitress brings out a bowl of Au Jus to help with the roast beef. That’s like installing a sprinkler system in the Sahara desert, it will have no effect. That’s all I got. Go to this joint and just get a coffee.

I came here once before a couple of years ago and enjoyed my food, but now I’m questioning my judgement. Did I show up on a bad night this time, or was I really that drunk for my first visit? To start off, the service was a little too slow for an empty restaurant. I don’t think it’s okay to have to wait for over five minutes for a menu or to be acknowledged for that matter. I’m not that impatient but come on! We were the only customers there. It took a while for our server to take our order, too. We even had to ask for our check from a cook we saw leave the kitchen because we were left alone for a little too long So we both order burgers. Both were deluxe, but mine was with cheese. what PISSESMEOFF like no other is the fact that we were asked how we wanted our burger cooked. We asked for Medium. How did we get them? Overly well-done. Mine even had remanence of burnt fat and oil. The best part? It tasted old and as if it were frozen. I’m not a quitter, but I couldn’t even finish mine. Had the fries been as bad as the burger, I would’ve screamed. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad burger before this one. Even White Castle burgers get the job done for me. My standards are pretty low, and this place couldn’t even meet them. How can a diner mess up a burger?

The woman at the front desk was awesome. Pleasant, welcoming, and efficient. Great at accommodating large parties and child-friendly. Overall taste of the food was good! Everyone enjoyed! The service and presentation needs work. I must admit, based on the location, other reviews, and appearance of the place, I expected just a bit more FINESSE. Suggestions(based on other diners all over NY that I have eaten in over the years): –Bread baskets upon seating would be nice –Syrup in a pitcher instead of syrup packets would be nice –A little garnish or at least celery on the hot wings plates –Food could be a bit more fresh overall, my dad had to send back his olives that were discolored and hummus was very loose(guessing a lot of lemon juice to revive?) Waiters reached over us in all directions quite a bit — enough that it was noticeable, and even once just set a plate on top of a menu my uncle was reading from. Multiple waiters served us and came by to ask the same questions or take the same orders It was certainly a busy day for the diner but a personal preference is that staff or ownership is not heard talking about guests, parties, complications, and or speaking sharply to employees. This was pretty evident from staff buzzing around our table and sours the environment a bit.

I ordered delivery from Park Plaza, which never arrived. I attempted to reach them by phone to get a refund, and there was no answer. I will not be ordering from them again. Were it possible, I would give them zero stars.

This was my first time here. The host was extremely welcoming and made me comfortable. This dinner is very big and has a sports bar attached to it. I used the restroom and I must say that it was spotless and clean and unlike a few restrooms I have used the air freshener was consistent. This kind of cleanliness makes it a big factor in me choosing to eat at a restaurant. I order the California wrap and before it arrived the patron next to me was complaining that the over easy eggs he ordered was hard but he would power through the meal anyway. The waiter offered to changed it which was nice. My wrap arrived and I must say that it was drenched in oil. The main source of protein in this meal is salmon and I am not sure if they allowed the oil to drain or not but it was extremely oily. The spinach and other ingredients were fresh but the wrap lacked the raspberry filling it was supposed to be accompanied with. I have lately been elementary salt from my diet so the absence of sodium was bearable. We asked for some honey mustard which made the meal more bearable. I ate half of the wrap and despite me being hungry I could not finish the meal. All in all the staff was pleasant and I probably would give here a second chance.

I’ve come to Park Plaza since I was was about 12 years old. That’s a lot of years lol. Never had a problem until the other day. Over the years the food has just been average but I continue to come back because it’s the go to spot. On Saturday I arrived with a party of 3, we had our mediocre lunch and were ready to pay. I noticed that there was a $ 7.50 tip added to our bill. Doing the calculations it was more than 15% of our bill, basically the waiter made up his own tip and added it onto the bill. We went to the front desk to pay and asked if adding the tip to the bill was something new that they were doing because in all of the years that I’ve come here, tip was never included. He told me that tip is added to the bill for parties that come in after 6. It was 5:57 when I was leaving out to pay. The guy at the front desk didn’t offer to take the tip off of my bill nor did he apologize. We had a staring match for about 49 seconds before he dismissed me and said have a good night sweetie.

I have ordered breakfast and a salad from this spot on a couple of different times and it was ok. Nothing to rave about. I find it annoying when you have to pay a container few considering not many other places do that. The food isn’t that high of quality but coming from a diner you expect it to be around the same level of others. Wouldn’t be my first pick to order from again.

Ordered dinner from here and they never showed up. After 1.5 hours I called the restaurant and they said it was«on the way.» 10 minutes later they called me back to say they already delivered my food — but I never got anything. Checked with my doorman and they took it to the wrong apartment, but I still got charged. The manager was rude on the phone and hung up on me. Do not order from here.

Excellent burger, get the deluxe(with fries and a couple of complimentary onion rings). Chocolate mousse cake is superb. The delivery service is fast and friendly. Also has great omelettes and desserts. Good food!

pretty decent food, but the service is terrible. I try to only get take out to avoid having to deal with the rude waitstaff. Not cheap either. If this place wasn’t so close I probably would not order as much.

I’ve been spending entirely too much time in diners of late. Perhaps I’m trying to recapture my desperately fleeting youth, or maybe I’m just drinking late into the night and wanting to stuff fried things in my face. Who can really say? All I know is that I ended up at Park Plaza late one evening, and we ordered all the fried things. By that I mean we got the Plaza Pile Up: wings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken fingers, and onion rings. We added the Rockin’ Fries(curly of course, because we’re not idiots), the soup of the day(an exploratory order that turned out to be pretty good), and a chicken quesadilla. This was probably excessive for only three people who had absolutely already eaten dinner. Well, I regret nothing. Actually, I take that back. I regret everything. But that’s more on me. Park Plaza is solid, and their fried things taste good. Granted, they wouldn’t let us sit at the gigantic round table, as they had little sympathy for the fact that I didn’t want to sit next to my wife. And we had what was perhaps the worst service I’ve ever seen(in a good way)…but this will now be my go-to diner since Carroll Gardens Classic has betrayed me and everything I thought we meant to each other.

I rode the subway in from midtown Manhattan to walk the Brooklyn bridge back over into Manhattan. I had breakfast here since it is right off the station. Breakfast was decently priced and the food was fine. The service lacked as I only was served one cup of coffee and had to flag another waiter down after waiting for 15 minutes for mine. Would go again next time I’m in the area.

Walked in with a friend just because we wanted to have a nice breakfast on a lazy ththirsd morning. Place look very clean, bathroom was so clean it was amazing, sat down right away. I ordered eggs benedict with potatoes and my friend ordered french toast with sausage and 2 eggs sunny side up. Coffee was nice and hot when breakfast came within 10 mins of placing the order. I didnt bother to ask for toast as most places include toast as part of the breakfast. So i skip it, the eggs were good but the potatoes didnt really have much salt or seasoning. kind of bland. Lucky for me they had salt and pepper and a good bottle of mexican hot sauce. The order of sausage looked very well done, in fact i would have sent it back but neither one of us had time to waste and we were starving. The place was not busy few people having breakfast but i dont think the kitchen puts much effort into presentation. Service was on point but foodwas not, so i would not come back. The food was just ok the bill was $ 24 with tax and we left a genorous tip for the waiter as he was really nice and he checked our table several times to make sure we were good. I can say at least the coffee was hot and the service was fast. I have to find a better breakfast place in the area. I am open to suggestions…

I frequently order delivery from here. They are very quick. I have have tried several entrees and a couple different dinner salads. All were quite good, better than diner quality standards. Haven’t had any of their breakfast foods or pastries, but plan to try soon. Menu is huge, but I don’t feel that negatively impacts the food quality from what I’ve experienced so far.

I actually have been coming to this place since I was a child. I went to the elementary school in Middaugh. My boyfriend and I came late one night to grab a bite. Our food was sub par but we ate anyway. . After we paid our server and the GM came back to BERATEUS in front of the ENTIRE restaurant because he wanted bigger tip. When I tried to inform him that we tipped him $ 25.00 he told me we were lying. He actually had the nerve to ask me what I do for a living and then tell me that«since I’m a bartender I should know how to tip» and then told me I was lying… again. We tipped on the card but also left him a 20 on the table which he didn’t see until I decided to take it back and put it in my wallet. Then they both tried to apologize. I will never visit again. New management is horrible and the new servers are horrible. It’s a shame.

My go to local diner. Too big to be called comfy, but you never have to wait to be seated and delivery is fairly fast. The menu is a little too extensive for everything on it to be great so use your common sense when ordering. The diner staples — pancakes, omelettes, burgers and fries are great. I also love their soups, sandwiches and salads. Can you tell that I eat here too often?

Ok I hardly review anything but… I ate here a few times as I work close by. Each time it was typical diner food and quality. Not overwhelmed and not under. However today changed my tune. The bad experience started from when we ordered for delivery to our office. The woman on the phone was terribly unpleasant. Ok maybe they’re busy… its lunch time… fine. Ten minutes later we get a call that the food is on its way. Ok not so busy. Weird. Nonetheless I’m hungry. I proceed to eat my $ 15 Greek salad with grilled chicken(questionable) right away I notice my chicken is old and rubbery and reheated. Possibly a few times. As I continue to eat the feta cheese and stuffed grape leaves(very good by the way) I noticed a string on one of the pieces of rubber chicken and in my head I try to ignore and chant please be a string please be a string. I know a string is a weird thing to have in or wish to be in food. So I investigate by pulling the string with a napkin and realize it is not a string. It was an imbedded… gasp…hair!!! My worst fear realized, I threw it out.

This place was recommended to us by a local(well, she’s Irish but lives in NYC). Finding ourselves in need of a very late breakfast after crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge we headed here. Agree with the other reviews about the size of the menu and its effect on food quality — it needs to be seriously streamlined so they can make a smaller number of dishes look and taste superb. The pancakes with maple syrup and bacon were good, but not amazing. The two poached eggs(randomly served in a coffee cup), were less so. It’s the definition of A-OK if you’re nearby and in serious need of carbs, butter and syrup ;)

I’ll cut to the chase. This place has great food and delivers all night. We order from them all the time. But the guy who takes phone orders night is the biggest prick I’ve ever experienced in customer service. Dude hangs up on you, goes out of his way to make you feel stupid, and truly seems to enjoy it. I still call of course, because of the food and because I can get a panini at 11:45pm. But like clockwork, I always get a couple minutes of frustration for my money. Annoying.

I’ve dined in frequently and gotten delivery frequently as well. I really like the sports bar area and they are very accommodating with the games and volume if there’s something you want to watch. Solid fries/onion rings/sliders/mozz sticks and beer selection. Fast delivery and good price, clean restaurant and great customer service. I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu and they range from pretty good to decent. However my main criticism is that they cannot possibly focus on their food quality with a menu that huge. I’d recommend they remove about half the menu items(who’s really ordering some of this stuff??) and really try to focus on improving the other dishes. You can tell how much frozen stuff they use because they can’t possibly keep things fresh on a menu with that many random items on it, they wouldn’t be able to go through the stock in time.

rare that i give a place 5 stars but this place has it all. I usually come for lunch bc i love their wraps. This time I decided to try the breakfast and omg it was so amazing. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I feel like my order came out in no time. I ordered an omelette with broccoli, onions, mushrooms and cheese with a side order of hash browns. it came out within 9 minutes lol. great cook, great waitress, great everything. i love the fact too that their employees all are happy and care about their customers. This makes for a great food place to come to.

Good Brooklyn heights neighborhood diner! It’s right next door to me so I definitely have frequented this spot more than Unilocal shows :). Great quick takeout and delivery as well. Some of our favs: any of the breakfast items — especially the omelettes and the challah French toast, the Reuben, fish tacos, and chicken gyro. Usually quick prompt service … If you want, you can easily be in and out of the diner within an hour.

I came here late one day just to munch. This review will be relatively short MYORDER: Hot Chocolate– GREAT! Full of rich chocolate flavor, but not overwhelming. The whipped cream was also great, not too sweet. Mozzarella Sticks– they were OK. not too bad but I’ve definitely have had better. Sweet potato fries– REALLYGOOD. My friend had these with a burger and he said it was okay. Nothing more nothing less. Strawberry Shortcake– GOOD. This was my favorite part. A little pricey. Not impressed. Wouldn’t come back to be quite frank. The service was ehh. Nothing spectacular.

Always sat on the Diner side of Park Plaza restaurant but decided to sit in the bar section today. It’s lunch time so there’s a nice office-worker type crowd and vibe. As usual this place from front to toilet is clean. The staff always friendly and accommodating. I got a dinner meal of ribs, mash and corn which came with cole slaw, soup and crackers all very yummy. Truth is, I suggested we come to this place because of their ribs. I love it! My friend got an omelette, fruit and pancakes which too tasted great. Yep, at lunch we got breakfast and dinner meals cause we’re bad like that! Finishing review Whenever I’m hungry or not in the mood to try something new, this spot is now one of my GOTOSPOTS. Left satisfied plus my doggie bag ensured I had dinner(large portions) The End.
