This place is definitely permanently closed from what I can tell. It was good while it was around — but for now, check out Baluchis. It’s basically a block from where this was(just go south on Smith), and for whatever reason, Unilocal hasn’t added it yet.

Very yummy! I was impressed with the fact that the waiter was willing to accommodate a sampler of all ten appetizers(not on the menu as an option) since I am very new to Indian food Appetizers were delicious –we went all vegetarian The mango yogurt drink is yummy too Waiters were attentive to my young child and totally understanding of the mess that was made So yes… now… the main course– their Veda goat special– so delicious!!! Just the right amount of spicy to have a tingle to it and kinda get to your nose in a way(I kinda got a runny nose lol in a good way! But I also get that from super minty gum so maybe I’m weird) but truly amazing flavor Now here comes the greatest part — we were going to explore and were totally okay with and expecting to pay full price but when the bill came it was 50% off because it’s their daily lunch special −12−3!!! Try them!!! you will love it even if you’re a total Indian food noob like me :) And what have you got to lose at 50% off

Let me start with horrible, non-authentic food They sat us down, and was easy to do so as the place was completely empty on a Saturday night! Everyone ordered thallis(food plate with multiple options such as rice, daal, vegetables and a meat/protein). The thallis were horrible for $ 15 a person. Chicken was cooked well but topped with a tomato ketchup like sauce and then sprinkled with chili powder to add a kick. Yuck! Mango lassi was also watered down with ice. No one enjoyed their meals. I should have given it a one, but the extra star was for the service.

Definitely the best Indian in cobble/boerum/Bk heights. The chefs special(can’t remember exact name) is awesome. Bombay grill never disappoints.

I don’t have the biggest palette for Indiam food but I know what I like. The Chicken Tikka Masala is the creamiest I have ever eaten. Ive had Indian from Richmond Hill and Elmhurst restaurants and they cant beat this dish. Order it with Garlic Naan and its a guaranteed winner. Samosas are plump and not too dense. Recently tried Fish Pekora and thought it was good with the assortment of chutneys and relishes that accompanied the meal. Owner is very nice and always accommodating. Nice décor inside dining room. For me big winner and with the amount of takeout orders leaving the restaurant while dining my neighbors agree too.

A pleasant surprise! This opened in the spot my local Indian joint used to occupy, and so far might be the best Indian food I’ve found in Brooklyn. Our(takeout) order had three vegetarian dishes and one meat dish(lamb achari — my favorite, and not easy to find ’round these parts), and they were all really good. Fresh, lively, rich without being overweeningly so, hearty without being gloppy, aromatic. Mushroom saag was fantastic. My only quibble is that the relishes all tasted tired and flat in comparison, which seemed a shame considering how sparkly the entrees were. Also, raita was way too sweet. But condiments aside, this place was a real standout for Indian on this side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

BEST Indian food we’ve ever had! We eat Indian at least once a week and this place tops all. Super comfortable and elegant little restaurant and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Everything that we ate was incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared. Definitely try this place even if you don’t regularly eat Indian, it’s well worth it. And give the soup a try, it was absolutely delicious I would have it every night if I could. And make sure you get the naan(we got roti) to scoop up every morsel. Price is also incredibly reasonable! Really great deal, really great food, really great experience overall.

I never get it delivered, I always go out, and we are usually the only people in there. The food is really good, but I think I gotta flip flop the locale for my vindaloo

Very fast delivery. Food arrived very hot, and the delivery man was very respectful. Solid food, and good prices. My husband and I were able to split the lamb rogan josh dinner special. It comes with naan bread, an appetizer(we got the chickpeas), rice and all the sauces. The lamb was tender and the sauce was well seasoned. The rice had a small amount of saffron in it, which added a nice touch. We will definitely order delivery from there again.

We love this place. It’s our go-to Indian food in the neighborhood and it never lets us down. We actually ate here after returning from traveling for a month through India and the food tasted just as authentic as our travels.

In February 2014 I stopped in here for lunch. I was craving lamb masala and I got precisely what I wanted and quickly. I received a generous helping of lamb masala with as much rice as I could eat. Naan was extra but it was worth it seeing as how the rest of the meal was inexpensive. It’s a relief to find yourself in an inexpensive sit-down restaurant in Carroll Gardens these days. I would eat here again, no question.

Absolutely Fantastic! Excellent! Yummy! Enjoyable! We ordered the chicken tikka masala, naan and the chicken vindaloo and we loved every bit of it. They don’t chintz on flavor or portions, used white meat. I can’t wait till we have Indian night again so we can order from them! This Indian we will crave!!!

I would say this is a very average place. Being new to the neighborhood, I was very excited to try out the local Indian restaurant. I made the mistake of placing the order online because what ensued was a series of missteps I found to be frustrating. But first, and most importantly, let’s start with the food! I absolutely LOVE this type of cuisine and notice every place makes things their own way. For this go around, I stuck with the basics — Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer — I find that if I like these items at a place, it’s a keeper. The Naan was quite disappointing as it wasn’t quite cooked all the way. The Chicken Tikka Masala was nice and spicy, but it was lacking in the rich and creamy department(I am used to this dish being a more orangish color as opposed to vibrant red and I just did not care for this style). As for the Saag Paneer, it was above average, but there were barely any cheese cubes in it and the texture was a lot runnier than what I’ve enjoyed in the past at other restaurants. As for the ordering process… I recommend not ordering online from here and stick with a phone call or a pop in. I placed my order for Pick-Up and was sent an email confirming the food would be ready in 20 minutes — great! So, I walk over there only to find out they thought I had placed the order for delivery, and the food was on its way back to the restaurant. No big deal, I just had to sit and wait a few minutes… the food comes… I walk back home and get ready to feast, and realized part of my order was missing! Needless to say I was a little disappointed. However, when I called to inform them of the mistake, they apologized and sent over the rest of the order within 15 minutes. Overall, this place is alright. I do plan on trying out another option next time I decide on Indian, but I am not crossing this place off my list completely.

I was hoping to try Britain, but unfortunately it was closed, so I made the trek for lunch this Monday to Bombay Dream and I was not disappointed. Though, the food was not cheap(I paid about $ 14 for lunch just with food and tip), it was tasty and plentiful. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala which they are known for and it came with a samosa, rice, naan, and a thick green soup. The chicken tikka masala was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The sauce was a nice thick consistency and it went perfectly with the chutneys, rice and naan. The samosa was very tasty, but I would have preferred a meat one since the potato one was a bit plain. The soup I was just not really a fan of, it had a particular spice to it that I didn’t really enjoy, but with so much other food provided, I was not left wanting. It was a super hot day and their AC didnt seem to be working too well, but service was quick and I was in and out of there in less than a half hour. Definitely a good option for Indian food in the area, but maybe just for a special lunch, since the prices are a bit too steep to go there regularly.

We have been coming here for years for all kind of special events. I have never seen the place crowded, almost feels like we have restaurant all to ourselves, which I like. But phone take out orders never stop coming in. The food has never disappointed us. Portions are not big, but very satisfying. After an appetizer and a main dish I never left hungry. We moved to Queens last year, and tried to find a similar restaurant here. Nothing even comes close. And we are back in Brooklyn to celebrate Valentines day. ;)

I don’t know what the atmosphere is like here. However I do know that I get to enjoy their food quite often during our conferences. The Tikka Masala(chicken) is pretty decent. I wish it was spicier but the creamy sauce is excellent. I like their Naan with onion bits inside. I don’t know if its intended to be garlic Naan(which i love) but it only comes across as a mild onion containing Naan. The palak paneer is excellent. The chickpea thing(with crunchy bits) is also excellent. No complaints about the food.

Ordered take out and had a decent experience, minus slow delivery times. It took almost 2 hours to get the food. Everything was decent, ordered one dish extra spicy, and it was extra spicy, just as asked for. Portion sizes were a bit small, but there’s no need for huge portions of well-seasoned food, your gut will burst. Will order again, just have to plan for the slow delivery.

Thank goodness for Bombay Dream. The only other Indian option in delivery proximity is Raga… blah! Bombay has great specials and good portion size. My wife and I get two specials and here’s always enough for lunch the next day(to be fair, we are smallish people). The chicken Korma is creamy and tender and the lamb saag is my go-to dish. We usually get a chicken tikka appetizer too and the samosas are good and peppery. Delivery is practically by teleportation. We got some kind of chickpea party last time and loved it. I am a fan and will def be back for more. Can’t comment on the dining in experience… but delivery is tops for the neighborhood. Enjoy!
