WHATANAMAZINGTIME. My boyfriend and I came in on a busy Saturday night and were told the wait would be 20−25mins. We were seated in about 15 and were sat by the manager Zanobia. She was very sweet and gracious. Our server Lauren was awesome. It was a great vibe great food. Great night. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Nice place to stop by in between classes or work. Food is ok, kind of pricey. The guacamole is good, nothing extraordinary even though they make it fresh in front of you. I ordered a black cherry margarita which came rimmed in black salt. The margarita itself was kind of strong and a little bitter, and the black salt was a horrible touch. Personally I would not order this specific drink again, I would go for something like the strawberry basil margarita. Again that one isn’t that amazing either. The margaritas range from $ 11-$ 13 a drink. The food is pretty pricey as well. I came with a friend and we ordered the guacamole, flautas(appetizer) and two drinks(one each) and the bill came out to about $ 60 including tip. Would I come again? Ehh as my last option probably.

The food and atmosphere was cool. The waiter was very polite and friendly and we were given service in a timely fashion. So why am I giving them two stars? Something the staff did towards the end of my night with my date really rubbed me the wrong way. We finished our meal, paid for everything, and left a decent tip on the table. We sat for no less than 5 minutes to digest everything and finish our drinks before they had a guy from their security team stand awkwardly in front of our table, facing away as if to intimidate us into hurrying up and getting out of there. My date also overheard one of the waiters tell the guard to stand a certain way in front of us I guess so we can get the message. Now me and my date were not making a scene or anything — like I said we just finished our meal and were just chatting for a bit before leaving. But the way their staff tried to indirectly rush us out felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful and ruined the entire experience for my date. I get that it was a busy night and business was booming but was it really necessary to try to rush us out as soon as we gave you our money? Until they treat customers well throughout the entirety of the experience I will be taking my money elsewhere.

This place was surprisingly great! I thought it was going to be some corny chain but wow! The food was good… we got chicken enchiladas with fried beans and rice, Mole enchiladas and some beers. The décor was so cool! Every detail is thought out. The place is brand new, clean, and there was interesting decorations all around. They also have tvs at both bars upstairs and downstairs… and even in the bathrooms. The service was fantastic as well! Loved this stop; it’s a regular now.

Although the tequila is supposed to be the main draw of this Mexican joint, for me the table side guacamole is what keeps me coming back. The tacos are also phenomenal, and the flavors are insanity. It can get a little loud if you go at peak hours(it’s a tequila bar, what do you expect?) but the place is so massive that you can easily ask to be moved to a more quiet area. The size also leads to the fact that I’ve seated almost right away every time I’ve gone! Atmosphere is beautiful, and this place is great for date night

Great food. Amazing customer service. Insane margaritas. A tequila selection that could kill Mexico. One of my wife and I’s favorite date spots. We are there every Tuesday, at the bar, getting amazing margaritas and chowing down on their unlimited tacos. The food is great. Balanced, large portions and delicious. Great house made salsas and guacamole. Their blackened mahi mahi fish tacos are so great, the molcajete is amazeballs, and the margaritas… The margaritas. The margaritas are fantastic. The sour mix is so great, and the bartenders are the best. Literally: the best bartenders. We’ve sat everywhere in the restaurant and the place is beautiful. Well decorated and fun; art everywhere. My wife and I have both lived in California and miss all the great Mexican food and restaurants. This place looks and feels like some of our favorite spots on the West coast. We usually sit at the bar because we’ve gotten to know the bar staff but the wait staff and all the managers are great too. Shout out to our favorite bartenders Alex and Lewis! Alanna always takes care of us when Alex takes a day off, and is also awesome. Even the busboys and bar backs are amazing and keep the service friendly and fun. Victor makes insane guacamole, is covered in tattoos and is incredible. Also: Rocco stops by occasionally and that is an event. He walks along the bar in white shoes from Pee Wee Herman, plays the tequila song, and pours hundred dollar tequila into any drink/person who is game. Though its often crowded, their aren’t usually long waits because they have two large bars, and two floors of expansive seating. It’s always a party in Rocco’s as there’s always a DJ mixing it up. I’m a fan.

About the food: The nacho chips are incredible! Their unique seasoning coupled with the freshly made guacamole make it irresistible to much information the chips. For my entrée, I ended up ordering the Korean tacos. They tasted pretty crazy, but I loved every second of it. About the service: I was in a group of 10+, on a weekday, at lunch time. We were seated right by the kitchen. Even though at the end, the server shook each of our hands thanking us for our patronage, I felt that they could have done better I regards to how frequently he checked in on us for drinks. Overall, this place is definitely worth going back to.

Why three stars? First off maybe it was a hiccup, a mere oversight but we were told that the staff were changing shifts and brunch was ending on a Sunday afternoon. So we had no problem waiting in the cool lobby space. Couples started to walk in ahead of us and were immediately seated(before us). Once we saw we were forgotten we asked the hostess(there were two) what happened. Apparently I overheard the hostess we initally met she put us on the wrong list. OK no biggie. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. Waited, waited, waited for a server. Finally a manager saw that we were looking around and sent someone over to us. The server told us we would have another server but she would take our drink orders.(the other server showed up at almost the end of our dinner right before we got our mains). So she took our order. We ordered the guac and it was super yummy. Although I would like to point out they do not wipe the inside of the bowls left out on each table. They just make the guac in the bowls that are lying out in the open.(I personally wiped my with a napkin and saw residue on the napkin from the bowl) I ordered the molcajete surf and turf why quiet yummy I wouldn’t order it again. It would help if the description read– soupy or stew cause that’s exactly what was brought over. My husband enjoyed fish tacos that were flavorful. I would go back again. Hopefully my next experience isn’t as bad as my first. I hope they don’t seem so unorganized next time. Or maybe we should steer away from the shift changes lol

Chain style Mex. is a cute central spot with some hits and misses, though it’s hard to go wrong with Mex. Ate: Spicy guac Seafood mocajete This downtown Brooklyn joint is huge! The guac is made table side which makes a good show & although it was spicy it was otherwise unremarkable. The chips had an awful spice to them, unlike the hangin’ fresh ones at Vario 408 in Park Slope. What was very good though was the seafood mocajete Very flavorfu, good earthy mole, but served with cold out of the bag tortillas and some tomatoes & more unremarkable guav– fun night, though.

I didn’t expect much from this place but i was happily surprised once i entered. The vibe made you forget that you was in Brooklyn and gave you a feeling you was somewhere in Mexico. My only couple issues was the seating where we were placed, The woman who greeted us didn’t seem to concerned how we felt about that. They also messed up on my girlfriends order more than once. Other than that the food was good. Plus you get a free shot with a order of any entrée once you check in with Unilocal.Nothing beats free liquor! I’ll definitely be giving Rocco’s Tacos another go

Top!

I usually cook dinner, every night. So when I go out especially, to a tequila bar/tacos, I’m excited. I love Mexican food. I love to feel welcomed, my server anxious to serve Instead we sat for 20min, stopped a waitress to grab our order, she did not recommend the guacamole, which I would have loved. Did not bring us water. The refried beans, taste like hormel Chile. We literally ask 3 times for water. never again…

I have always passed this place and never felt the urge to try it out, but since I now live a few blocks away, and some coworkers wanted to come here for dinner one night, I thought, «why not»? It was a busy Friday night but it wasn’t too busy being that we were seated fairly quickly. The décor is fun and gives off the chain-restaurant feel. We were seated at a(very cold and breezy) booth and we waited. And waited. And waited. When our waitress came, she was nice enough. She first took our drink orders. I had a beer, and my coworkers ordered mixed drinks. Then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. As you can tell, the service was pretty slow. When I finally got my beer, it tasted flat and watered down, which was really a shame, BUT! You do get a complimentary shot for checking in on Unilocal which was pretty nice of them. As for food, we ordered medium guacamole(which was prepared in front of us) and chips. The guacamole was more mild than medium but we still liked it. I had a steak taco which was pretty good but on the small side. I also ordered a soup which was okay, even though the chicken and avocado were nonexistent. I ordered a second beer that took just as long to get to me as the first one, and at this point I was frustrated. Would I come back, probably not. I might order a taco or two to-go if the mood calls for it, but for dining in– eh.

I’ve been wanting to come here for long and just never have, I finally did and I came back twice in one week. The food is excellent. I came the first time for lunch and the second time for dinner. The first time I came we ordered the mild guac as an appetizer, it’s really entertaining that they come around and make it table side, and it was even more of a plus that it tasted so good. For my entrée I got the pork and chicken soft taco with a side salad. My friend got the chicken and cheese quesadilla with a side of fries, she really liked her food. The second time I came, we came at night and got dinner. I ordered the skinny cocktail which was so good. As an appetizer we got the guac again plus the beef flautas which were great. For my entrée I ordered the Mexican Cobb salad which was good. The staff is really nice and the managers that are on shift seem to walk around and see how everyone’s dinning experience is going. I also noticed that they do a bottomless brunch time cocktail special for and added $ 12 if you purchase an entrée. I would love to come back here soon for that.

The table side guacamole is great, unfortunately this was the highlight of my meal. The best part about this place is the atmosphere, its huge and full of lanterns and cool mexican themed décor. I ordered the shrimp tacos and the skirt steak tacos, these cost a bit more than the regular tacos and were a letdown. The shrimp tacos tasted fishy to me, and I had to return them. Luckily, they took it off the tab. The quality of the steak was ok, but the flavoring was a little weird-vinegary almost. I can’t complain about the service, it was decent enough. I didn’t have any drinks but could see this being a fun place to gather after work as it was a very lively atmosphere and there wasn’t an empty seat at the bar on a Thursday evening.

DELICIOUSGUAC!!! Seriously get the guac you won’t be disappointed. The portions are huge! And the free tequila shots(which are really double shots…) when you check in are awesome. A group of us came here for lunch once and told the waitstaff we needed to rush, which they accommodated for. Another time we came for happy hour and got the margarita pitcher – I forget now which it was called, but it was perfectly sour and absolutely delicious(although I personally didn’t think there was that much alcohol, while my friends definitely were affected…) Both times I came with work friends, so didn’t quite pay attention to the cost but I remember it being slightly expensive? If you don’t care about that though, food is delicious and drinks are a perfect escape post-work.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy. However this location is fairly new & its layout is very expansive. We were greeted and seated right away. We order the table side guacamole which as perfect. The only restaurant I’ve visited and they finally had ripe avocado’s. I take this pretty serious lol because I LOVE avocado’s. They added just the right amount of ingredients. We ordered drinks which were also made very well. I had the house margarita I believe. It was strong too but not too strong where I couldn’t enjoy it. We ordered the wet burrito and the enchiladas. I was already beginning to get full from the guacamole. But the food was perfect. For a Mexican theme restaurant they have this under control. Hands down best Tex mex restaurant. I’ve visited Mexico and I’ve had pretty epic authentic Mexican food. They didn’t over do it. The ambiance also plays very well into the theme. It is 2 floors. The restrooms are equipped with screens, different. A lot of festive Mexican decorations. I would recommend this place for a night out, girls night, or a laid back birthday dinner, it’s also good for a date for just 2!

Lunch downtown Brooklyn in the busy metro center. The hostess and waiters were attentive and pleasant they suggested the drinks and answered all my questions without hesitation the place was not packed and we received seated rather quickly for a mid-day crowd. They honored my Unilocal giveaway and I was sooooooooo surprised because most places I go do not honor those that give aways. I did receive a shot of tequila on the house, the drinks menu was original and tasty. Top shelf liquor has a visible glass walk in closest… seriously. The lightning fixtures are exquisite, decorative, unique, and colorful. This place is high on south western ambience and the attentive server Jason was on his job, knowledgeable about menu items, and suggested our lunch items. We had the homemade guacamole which made right in front of us with ripe avocados, sources, and tomatoes. I ordered authentic Mexican steak tacos which were made to cooked rare and tender we did have a small concern in our order however once we spoke to the manager she made the necessary adjustments very quickly. Please pay close attention to your final bill… this place is jumping with people someone else’s items were on it, however it was swiftly attended to and we were happy with the services. The the young and attractive after work crowd started to roll in so we called it a day it was a great experience and the after party looks as if it was about to jump off as I was leaving. I will be back for Taco Tuesdays.

I forget how many great restaurants there are in Downtown Brooklyn MetroTech, but this probably makes the top 2. Great atmosphere, attentive staff, great drinks and very good food. Guac is prepared in front of you and very good. Although the guy mashed it to death. Sometimes it’s nice to have a chunky bite. Today I settled for a smoother guac. Californian fish tacos are just okay. Battered with little flavor. Pineapple salsa was weird. Need to apply hot sauce for some taste. The Baja — Grilled fish taco, shrimp taco with the goat cheese and spinach quesadilla was good. Very flavorful. If you’re getting any of the regular quesadillas, be prepared to be full. Very full. They are stuffed to the brink and it comes with rice and beans.
