Just may be the best NY slice I’ve ever had(and I’m a native NY’er). Family owned by Sal and his dad.

Been a fan of San Marco’s since around 1975. It’s a miracle they’re still here and not gouging their longtime neighborhood paisans, despite the deep-pocketed unsavory element that have displaced the original Italian/American populace. Great pizza, great espresso(I’ll have a triple or quadruple, no sugar, please). Thank God there’s still a sensible unpretentious pizzeria left in the neighborhood.

Ok lets get one thing straight off the bat, this area of Williamsburg used to be primarily Italian. My father used to come here when he lived in the neighborhood over 30 plus years ago, and it has been the same owners for the past 50 years. So if that doesn’t tell you the place is top notch I don’t know what does. So I recently moved to the area from eastern Long Island, I made it a point to try every pizza place within walking distance from my appt(Frost and Meeker). This place is by far the best in the area, regular slice is the way to go, and how can you say no at only 2.50?! There are some reviews stating the owner and he son are rude, Sal the primary owners son is probably in his late 40’s now, his dad in his 70’s. This is a family owned and operated place, the father still lives in the apartment upstairs! The old man comes down every morning at 5am and starts pumping out expresso’s with a smile on his face, and Boy is he good at it. I primarily know his son Sal, makes a great pie with fresh ingredients. Service is quick, place is clean and it feels very homey. Here is the catch though, if you aren’t accustomed to an Italian owned and operated pizza place the vibe might not be for you, but who cares the pizza is phenomenal. So if you want the true feel of the neighborhood, a great slice(check out the specials too) and all for a cheap price this is your spot. If not then go somewhere else. Regardless give these guys a shot, you won’t regret it.

Best pizza in the neighborhood by a large margin. San Marcos keeps it real — and it is dirt cheap! Reminds me of pizza and espresso shops straight out of Milan.

This is the best plain slice in the neighborhood. Kay Z, This quote is awful: «These neighborhood joins better shape up if they want to stay in the neighborhood!» A place exists for 50 years, and then you move to the neighborhood and then you dictate who gets to stay… This part of Williamsburg still somehow manages to cling to some of its Italian heritage and the hipster onslaught hardly seems to notice it, just wants more boutiques, crepes, and coffee shops. San Marco doesn’t do a lot of business compared to other neighborhood spots, but I’m glad to see they’re still in existence and still keeping it real! Go move to the suburbs!

The best spot for a slice or take-out. The pizza is delicious, the service is always incredibly friendly, and yes — even the salad is good!

This spot is super convenient for me so I stop in whenever I can’t bring myself to make my own dinner. The staff is always super friendly and speedy. There’s a little TV that always has the game on, and the vibe is very much family-owned and casual. You get the feeling most of the customers know the owner by name. The pizza is delicious, respectable New York pizza(I only ever get a cheese slice). I’d be comfortable sending in a tourist for their first NY slice.

Totally old school and simple! We’re staying nearby and got some tortellini and a broccoli roll for takeout = $ 13! I love the counter, I’m sure the espresso and cappuccinos are great.

Great Pizza, plain and simple. I watched the old italian guy who’s had the place for 45 years make it, the sauce is great as is the crust and cheese. I’ve also had some heros here that have also been good. Not sure what these people are talking about there being smoking and drunk owner, the owner is a kind Italian guy about 70 something years old who speaks broken English, and he’s real nice and makes damn good pizza. I watched him make 2 pies for a another customer and was great watching the care he put into making them, stretching out the dough on the marble counter adding just the right amount of sauce and cheese, taking it out of the oven before it’s done to let the air out of the crust and add more cheese where it was needed. It was really cool to watch. Pizza made by someone from Italy is something to behold.

i wish i could give this place ZERO stars. I swear to god, DONOTSTEPFOOTINTHISPLACE!!! I have never EVER been to a place where the owner/guy who works there was DRUNK&SMOKINGCIGS in the restaurant. Behind the counter. My boyfriend and i were starving and just went in to grab a slice. The first thing the guy behind the counter said was«Nice shirt buddy» to my boyfriend. We were in work clothes… this guy was creeping me out, and he was slurring his words. He was drinking a corona light, and being utterly annoying and unprofessional. The first two slices were OK they were VERY greasy, but the crust and sauce tasted great. Then my boyfriend wanted another piece. When he took a bite, you could clearly see the doughyness of the bread, it was not cooked. So we politely asked to have it put back in the oven to cook longer. The guy FLIPPEDOUT. «I hate when people complain» «nice shirt by the way» «you both are so rude» and he KEPTGOING… i was feeling UNSAFE and had to leave. I said how much do i owe you he said $ 7 i put &10 on the table and walked the hell out of there as fast as i could. He was the RUDEST person i have EVER met, and if that his pizza place, it should be shut down. HEWASDRUNK!!! Not to mention he thought i was funny to change the channel to PORN while we were watching the hockey game. Legit porn on the TV. Whoever those guys are in there, are cracked OUT! This place needs to be shut down. I felt sorry for the pizza maker guy, he was sweet and giving us eyes the whole time like«leave it alont, dont say anything back» like he was even scared of his boss. It was a very uncomfortable situation. I hated that place and it totally ruined my Wednesday night. The guy that it was is not in any of the pictures above. He was younger than those guys and tan, and wore a V neck purple shirt. I cant say it enough, DONOTEATHEREEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER!!! That guy doesn’t deserve business ATALL

Do Not Eat here unless you want cigarette smoke with your pizza. A worker lit and smoked a cigarette pretending not to notice me or my friends who were shocked. This was after the workers gave us evil looks and turned the TV up to full volume so they could watch some program. I have never been treated with such disrespect. I plan to contact the health inspector at minimum. Not to mention the pizza was beyond poor quality. Crust a nasty flavor and cheese greasy indicating low grade. These neighborhood joins better shape up if they want to stay in the neighborhood! The pizza was good, a bit too greasy but hey; it’s pizza! Okay for the price. The service was okay, but the owner/manager(I’m guessing) was drunk and made it a bit uncomfortable for my girl friends with me. Very loud. Other than that, the experience was overall good.

You want a slice of pizza and a soda? This is the place. I love the regular pie and the grandma. The chicken calzones are good too. But I mostly come in for Mr. Cono’s espresso and cappuccino. Now here’s a place that knows how to make good Italian coffees! I wouldn’t ask for any American coffee unless you’re a fan of instant coffee. But their pizza hits the spot!

Last stop is another quick slice. Still hungry. The slice here was decent. Nothing to write home about, but it hit the spot. It was fresh and heated up well. The place is long and diner like. Seems like it used to be a breakfast place. Slice is $ 2.50

This is a great neighborhood pie. It’s not a traditional Neapolitan pizza, but its certainly one of the better pizzas I’ve had. Maybe that is me coming from Maryland to NYC and have preexistingly low expectations of pizza. We called in the order and walked up(from 2 blocks away) and the pizza was ready quickly. And it was pretty damn cheap for how BIG the pizza was. BIG slices… good sauce, just enough grease.
