This is a great studio for any small/​medium photo (or video) shoot. The rate is great and it is conveniently located not far from a subway stop. The lighting is included in the rental of the studio and it offers a full day and a half day rentals. The studio has a large cyc wall and a nice kitchen area. I have used it several times and planing on coming back. I would highly recommend Southern Fried Studios to anyone!

I highly recommend Southern Fried Studios for any photo shoot. The rate is great, the people are amazing. I coordinate many small-​scale photo shoots and this studio has so much to offer. Lighting is in-​studio and included in the extremely reasonable rate. There is a kitchen and living room in the studio, both are great for lifestyle photography. They have a vanity mirror for HMU and a large cyc wall.
I used this space just last week with help from Nicole. She was extremely helpful, and I am already planning on using the studio again. If you’re tired of overpaying for space in NYC, check out Southern Fried Studios.

I was looking for a studio to shoot a few people with a white background. Called a few other studios where they charged extra for renting lights or set extremely early/​late hours if I wanted to rent for a whole day.
I called Southern Fried Studios and spoke with Nicole. Got to set my hours for an eight hour rental. The studio has a large cyc wall, seating area, kitchen area and came with strobes, a trigger, modifiers and a big tripod as well as other accessories. Will definitely return

Southern Fried Studio is a great and very cool space. Their rates make it possible for photographers dealing with a tight budget still get the job done and get great results. They were very accommodating and very pleasant and the shoot went great! I will definitely use them again in the future.

Justin– the studio manager, was such a pleasure to work with! I contacted him to try to view the studio space prior to our video shoot (it was going to be a larger group of 10 – 12 people) and I wanted to see if we could arrange that many people into the cyc wall space. He scheduled me to go in within the next 2 days after our call for free!
On the morning of the shoot he also called me to double check on the equipment I needed and helped me set up for the shoot. He was also very friendly and helpful to the rest of our 10+ people team and we had a very successful, smooth, shoot. We also love the separate kitchen/​dining area away from the studio space. It really helps keep everything organized. Needless to say, we’re all very happy and satisfied.

Awesome studio for a shoot. We had a kid’s fashion shoot in this intimate 900 sq foot studio and it went great. They had all the equipment we needed including a cyc wall. Justin was a pleasure to work with and so helpful. Just a heads up, it’s a 3rd floor walkup. There is a service elevator available but it’s an extra $ 75 if you want to use it. We came on a Saturday and found plenty of parking right out front.

I had a great experience at SFS. The studio had an awesome vibe that made my subject (Quest Love) feel very at home. The studio offers the basics with professional rentals a few blocks away but the untold story is the studios location. SFS is located in the middle of the Bushwick Collective (graffiti artist central) the surrounding neighborhood offers a sea of color for urban street shooting and backgrounds Bottom line is you get the best of both worlds, white cyc AND killer locations.
After the shoot be sure to walk down to one of the local bars, my favorite was located in a converted coffin makers factory and hit Roberta’s for a REAL ITALIAN pizza.
