great food, terrible service. apparently there’s a minimum on their credit cards that’s not posted anywhere and the woman who waited on me just now wasn’t willing to assist me or accommodate me; instead she let me hold up the line

When they first opened they were great but as the years went on the staff grew some attitude. I live close by and when I order for delivery they always seem to mess it up. Either they forget something or they sent the wrong stuff, and when I attempt to call and let the manager know they told me «so then don’t order from here anymore».Honestly I’d rather just not go to avoid problems

So I had stopped off at my aunt’s house to drop some stuff off and check her mail. It was mid-afternoon Sunday and the last thing I had to eat was breakfast before leaving for church. I stopped in here. I wanted something to go and knew if I ordered a sandwich or wrap or anything resembling a lunch dish; it would be too much. The menu board on display says breakfast until 11AM. There was no one else in there so I asked the guy where they cook the hot food if he would still make a breakfast sandwich, He said he would. I ordered 2 eggs with turkey bacon on a roll. He fried up the eggs and cut up about 4 pieces of turkey bacon. It took about 5 minutes for my sandwich. It would be 5 stars except for 2 minor things: The price I was charged was $.25 more than posted. It was still cheaper than what I would pay for that in most places in Manhattan. I calculated it and it couldn’t be sales tax that made up for the difference. I just let it slide, I wasn’t asked if I wanted salt or pepper and there were no packets in the bag

The BEST burritos EVER! I love, love, love the food here so much that, even though we moved from Sunset Park to Bensonhurst, my boyfriend will make a special stop on the way home to bring the burritos home for us to have on a Friday night. Their wraps are also amazing — their hamburgers, sandwiches, really, order anything on the menu, you wont be disappointed. Or maybe you will be because you’re unnaturally picky and don’t know what good food is, which is your loss. Because Spiro’s is an incredible gem in Sunset Park and I’m happy that they exist.

carlos and the guys do a great job. The waitresses work hard and don’t play games. This is a great neighborhood spot — you see all ages all professions going and the value is incredible. It seems like a local«greasy spoon» on the outside, but that is truly derogatory and inaccurate. It’s so much more and a great location breakfast lunch or dinner.

Service isn’t that great and the price fluctuates. Better off going to the restaurants in industry city.

Clean, prompt, friendly, the best place for salads in Sunset Park. Love their Mexican salad which I add extra spinach, cranberries, feta and carrots to.

Great little texmex deli. Prices are great! We are huge fans of their 3 cheese nachos with chicken, carnitas or steak… always yummy with huge portions. Guacamole and chips are always homemade and amazing! I am also a fan of their triple decker tuna sandwiches when I am not in the mood for Mexican.

Solid neighborhood spot. The food is consistent, the staff are friendly, and I especially like their eat-in breakfast special. The menu is deep: Tex-Mex, Italian, and Greek entrees, breakfast, salads, sandwiches and burgers, and they sometimes have some off-menu gems like tamales and thanksgiving stuffing. The salsas are great; I ask for them with pretty much everything I order. You can usually get a table on the weekend. Pro Tip: Order ahead if you’re doing takeout. It can get chaotic at the counter and you’ll be waiting for a while if you don’t. Also, I don’t know if I’d order pizza here, it seems like an afterthought, or maybe a vestige of a time when they did more pizza business.

Two stars for the simple fact that this was my second visit to this place & I feel like I waited way too long for my food I work around the corner and I’m new to this area, so these guys don’t know me. I walked in towards where the guys were cooking to order my sandwich and no one took my order, so I went to the register and stood there for a good 5 min, not so bad since it’s 8:36 am. Two people came in. Ordered with the cook and left before me, again maybe because I’m new, I wasn’t really mad about that. I was more pissed that I purposely drove to get to work 25 min EARLY so I wouldn’t have to rush to eat my food before work, do u want to know what time I left that place??? 9. I was standing there for a good 20 min and I know this because I was chatting with my room mate the entire time. Then on top of that they gave me the wrong bag and tried to charge me $ 14 for a turkey bacon egg and cheese sandwich with an Arizona green tea and a Starbucks frappucino. I was like yeah no I got a sandwich I’m not paying $ 14 for that lady at the register sorry lol My first experience with this place was about a week ago. I ordered food around 11:15am and it decided to show up at 12… this place is legit 6 min walking from my job and it took an hour. Then on top of that the delivery guy didn’t really speak English well, so when he called my cell to let me know he was here I could hardly hear or understand him, then some lady tried to translate and just yelled into the phone«your food is at the front» so I ran to the entrance, I call the guy back and he’s still not there… he’s standing at the exit inside the building. I was like oh maybe it was just busy, then today I go in, get ignored stand for 20 min(mind you I stand all day at work) was late to work & on top of all that I didn’t even want to eat the damn food because it was sloppy as hell! I was better off just going to McDonald’s to be honest. I work in customer device and deal with people all day, so I understand but I never rush my clients, it’s rude and will just cause problems later so I don’t like being treated like that. The man I gave my order to also forgot the order 3 times, again doesn’t bother me if you forget I know it’s busy, I but I do get pissed when you forget my order and send 2 – 3 people out the door who came in after me. Those orders he remembered but not mine so I was a little disappointed. He was nice not rude at all. He said sorry however didn’t offer anything as he could clearly see I was getting annoyed after 20 min. He could have taken an OJ or my Arizona off the bill or something lol not that I would take it, it’s the gesture that matters the most. Don’t think I will be making another visit. If you can’t handle to work load then don’t take the orders or get an extra person on staff for the morning. And if you speak Spanish you are more likely to get your order in FYI Here’s a secret owner of Spiro’s: New Yorkers hate waiting…

Came here for quick bite to eat with my coworkers. I ordered the fresh mozzarella chicken hero sandwich. It had grilled chicken, lettuce, mozzarella, salsa verde, and avocado. A decent tasting sandwich. I doubt the mozzarella is fresh. The avocado and salsa was certainly a good mix in the sandwich. Getting the sandwich certainly took a long time. The staff seem a bit overwhelmed in the amount of orders they were getting. I could see the staff ignore some phone calls while they deal with the pick up an delivery orders they had. The place needs an upgrade badly. The menu is falling part. Can’t tell how much some of the food costs. Restrooms had only hot water running. Wth!!!

Spiro’s Café is down the street from my new apartment so I have become a regular here. They are open for breakfast with your normal bodega-style grill and also have some Tex-Mex style tacos /burritos and tortas. Their veggie burrito is what I go for, it normally comes with avocado — but since I am allergic they have never had trouble subbing it for veggies. The salsa verde it comes with is actually pretty legit and tasty. There is seating available, and food is ready fast. A solid location that I’ll be returning to time and time again.

I eat here often since it’s close to work, and the food never disappoints! It’s always packed in the morning and lunch time, so it’s always better to place an order before picking it up. Their fish tacos and burritos are my favorite! Their pre-made food buffet is also good and a quick lunch option. They will make pretty much anything and their prices are very affordable.

I was looking for places to eat near my office and I came across Spiro’s. It’s next the the train station and it wasn’t much to look at on the inside or out. But I was happy I went in. The staff was very friendly and the food was good at a good price. I had a Chicken Chipolte Burrito which came with a side of tortilla chips(which seemed like home made and they might have been). It was quite yummy and I was sad as I finished my last bites that it was gone… For dessert, I had a serving of flan, also delicious. I will certainly go back again to try their other foods. If you are in the area, it makes a great place to grab some chow… If they fix up the décor, I could see this moving from 4 to 5 stars…

I’ve only stopped in this restaurant for breakfast items. Food is good for the price. The service is less than desirable. Patrons that come inside the restaurant after you will be serviced before you.

Never go here! They let people cut the line while you wait patiently to make your order. I ask for dry wheat toast and they butter it everytime even though I repeat myself. It costs like 7 dollars just for an omelet and fries(down the block for the same price you get steak and eggs, etc.), and when you run the card they charge you a fee. Horrible place.

This place has been around forever!.. I have lived in the neighborhood all my life. I remember when it opened. My family has enjoyed this place for years. 3 Generations of our family have enjoyed this food and as they have added Mexican food. I just cannot tell you how happy I am :) We do not eat in but we have deliveries made to home. Very convenient, reasonably priced YUMMY food! Can you ask for more?

You know this kind of place. Tons of options — breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers that order from a big sign above a counter/deli case. It’s the same thing you’ll see everywhere. But Spiro’s differs in 2 respects: 1. Burritos. Not something you often see at cafes of this nature, though given its Sunset Park locale it makes sense. Anyway, they are HUGE(2 meal huge). And amazing. One thing I don’t like is that they put lettuce in the burritos — a personal pet peeve of mine. It skeeves me out, so I always request they omit it. They do so gladly. Which leads me to the way more important 2. The service. I seriously love every single person who works here. They’re friendly, helpful, and just really, really nice. I sometimes stop in here for coffee and a muffin or bagel on my way to work. I wouldn’t say the muffins and bagels are exceptional, though the coffee is very good. I could get these items any where, but I keep coming back to Spiro’s because I want to give this place business. Not that I really need to, it’s always busy. That reminds me. I recommend calling ahead to place your order, because if they’re slammed you might have to wait a bit. They also deliver, and have no minimum order to do so.

* I somehow ended up at Spiro’s last weekend. I actually wanted to answer the nature’s call and couldn’t wait for no long while in the subway. I got down at 36th st and Spiro’s was the closest restaurant in my sight. That’s how I ended here. * First of all, the bathroom heater needs a fix. It was freezing inside with my pants down and an open window. * After cleansing my bowels, it was time to eat something. So I got myself a cup of coffee and an omelet. It was cheap and tasty. Infact everything on the menu was cheap — the pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, lumberjack breakfast special like Johnny’s luncheonette in Flatiron. * Oh yes and as other reviews mention — the waitress was cute and beautiful.
