Amazing cocktails, beer & shot special, and skilled bartenders. Definitely my favorite spot in the hood. Comedy night is excellent and I like that they have an outdoor area too. They let you bring in outside food even though they serve some food there, that being said… JOE’S NACHOSAREAWESOME.

Place was an interesting spot in Fort Greene. Some rock music combined with a silent film version Faust added a cool end of the night. Patio in the back was perfect to chill with a group.

Splitty was my local since it opened. I feel like the whole spot is family. They keep a good house and have cheap drinks to boot. Definitely an improvement on the previous dive, named Rope. The stand up comedy night, Myrtle Comedy is excellent. Celebrities who drop by include David Cross, Larry Murphy and more! There is occasional live music and they have a projector as of summer 2015. Movies include Jubilee, Holy Mountain, monster truck rallies, professional wrestling and Pantera documentaries. A weekday hang out for a lot of editors and filmmakers. There is an occasional gay bar vibe without the dedication of a place like This n That or Metropolitan in Williamsburg.

Went here this past Tuesday. The bartender seemed annoyed with us a bit. Most like due to my not so smart friend. Over it was ok but low rating because WHEREISTHEAC? There was one fan that did absolutely nothing. I hope this place fixes that problem soon because it was way too hot.

I don’t know, but this place rubs me the wrong way. Not a fan of the fake rustic look, or the bar tenders. I have had two conversations with two different, hip bar tenders, both laced full of condescension. I’m a local, and I never go here. But hey! It’s hip. If you want cheap canned beer with shots of foul whiskey, you can say you went here before it was cool.

Cool spot for finger food… i was meeting a friend in the neighborhood so we decided to go there. So they also have a outdoor seating but that’s straight for the cigarettes smokers cause that all they do back there lols… But the only thing about this place is that they don’t have no waiters so you have to go and get your food/drinks which kinda makes it a wait cause its only 1bartender that does it all. So yep the owner is cheap so i guess ill be back if i ever start to smoke cigarettes lol… great drinks food wise was okay

Alyssa is an awesome bartender. We had great service. Food fingers not too much to chose from and not too tasty. They get tasty after a few beers and shots. Great vibe for singles couples and groups

Please bring back your brunch. It was delicious and the best deal around. Your backyard was quiet and the service was great too. If you had better lighting during the day, that might make it more pleasant seating inside. But that’s not as important and the backyard is great!!!

This is a great little bar, im staying across the road for a week and happy this place is here. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, drinks cheap and not trying to hard. Its a Monday night and I have to say the shaved head bartender is a legend. Looked after a couple of out of towners with quick service and plenty of tips for NY. Very happy we stopped here and will be back before we leave.

As far as themed bars go, Splitty is pretty top-notch. So, a quick Google search tells me that Splitty is a nickname for those old VW buses with two windshield panes instead of one(there’s metal splitting the two glasses). The décor of the bar is very VW-esque. The mirrors are rounded like car windows. The glass in the front is a splitty. And there’s vintage stuff elsewhere. Their main thing is cocktails, though they also have a respectable beer selection. I had two of their cocktails, and sadly, wasn’t a big fan of them. They were good enough, but lacking punch and balance. Bartender was a super nice guy though. They have a backyard with 2 or 3 tables, which is cool. They also serve buns, but we didn’t get any.

Walked in around 8pm(moderately busy), and got ignored for 10 minutes. When the bartender finally took our order, he walks off, and starts taking other people’s order and doesn’t make our drinks. WTF. We walked out.

Although a little loud, I was digging the 70s jams and themed decorations on a Saturday night. I had two cocktails, one milk-based drink with nutmeg and I can’t recall which alcohol, as well as another rum based drink. Both exuded the essence of the fall spirit. The drinks ran around $ 11 – 12. A fun place to start a bar crawl in the area.

Nice little bar with some lite fare menu items. Deals are great during happy hour. A beer and a sandwich with chips for $ 7 – 8. A great atmosphere, dimly lit. Was there in the middle of the week, but heard great things about their patio and weekend scene.

I really enjoyed brunch here the other day. We were moving the boy into his new apartment and were very hungry after a hellish morning at IKEA. We walked over here based on the holy grail of Unilocal reviews: 4 stars, 2 dollar signs. Initially we were going to sit inside, though I don’t know why. The interior was a little dark, humid, and smelled a little of fried oil. To be fair, I don’t think the AC was working and it was one of those borderline on-or-off days. We ended up in the garden, however, and all was well. All three brunch items were great. I wouldn’t really call the pork in the Tennessee Bimbap pulled pork, but I would call it tasty. The ham on the Badlands Benedict was generously portioned and equally delicious. Even the veggie entrée Cascades Florentine looked great. Somebody in the kitchen knows how to properly poach eggs, something that seems to be becoming a lost art. Mrs. R had a Watermelon Bloody Mary, something I wasn’t so sure about, but it turned out to be a winner; I liked it even better than my Sriracha Bloody Mary, which I liked very much. The coffee was definitely a hit as well, though I wish the cups weren’t so teensy-tiny, requiring a refill every few minutes. The food arrived on quickly, and service was spot-on, and the waitress had good recommendations. Good garden location, good food, good service, good price; solid hits on everything a restaurant needs to score on.

Splitty is great, it’s a solid dive bar with actually really great cocktails. I had the Sole 75(?) and the Cel Ray, personally I preferred the less sweet more refreshing Cel Ray. We also got a free shot when we checked in soo that was fun. Another night we came in and got the steamed buns I didn’t eat them but my friend was into them for sure. They also have bands and I think last time a DJ, woo hoo Fort Greene is getting so hip.

The place is very casual and a pretty good size for a get together with friends. It has a long bar w/stools fully stocked and a few booths on the opposite wall. I went on sunday for a bloody mary event:) Now the important stuff… Bloody Mary’sssssss!!! Classic — was good with the traditonal taste and had a lil kick to it Wasbi — my favorite because I like it spicy with full flavor and this delivered Watermelon — Sooo surprised how good this tasted! Class flavor but with a very strong note of watermelon. I gave it the side eye becuase it just didn’t sound right… but it was right!!! Buns of Delight Pastrami — was a dream come true… it was so DeLish fulling my not heavy and it left me wanting more of them… like a six pack to take home!!! Kale & Potato — this was a party in my mouth all the way down to my tummy… spicy curry deliciousiness!!! Mushroom — Im not a fan of mushrooms… but my friend said it was soooo goood:) I will be back!!!

+++ — Bloody Marys; 9 times out of ten I don’t like I don’t like ‘Marys, but they were great here — Watermelon ‘Mary; nice twist on a traditional drink — If you like hotness; the wasabi Bloody Mary is exactly the thing for you — Bartenders; extremely talented and each drink is an artform ++ — Pastrami Bun; pastrami and cheese goodness in bun form — Mushroom Bun; there was something in there that was really tasty. Well, there’s my excuse to go back try another one and figure out what it is + — Potato Bun; still great, but my least favorite of the three - — Absolutely nada

This is a great bar with a creative theme. The place is set up to resemble an old camper– pretty neat. They have a pretty creative cocktail menu, and awesome bloody Mary options(wasabi and watermelon). I stuck with pear cider on this visit– needed a low alcohol option! I’d love to return and explore their drink menu. They serve three different bao options. I think two are available year round and the third changes occasionally. I tried the pastrami bao and the kale and potato bao. The pastrami was cut thick and had a great sauce, kimchi, and emmantal cheese. Unique and tasty combination. The kale and potato was deliciously spicy.

I still go in here… if I’m desperate. The staff is just the fucking worst. Sorry, but they couldn’t be less interested in the customers. If they don’t completely blow you off and ignore you, you might actually get asked once if you’d like another. Be prepared to beg for anything else. The Monday night bartender(tall, shaved head, generally annoyed face) seems to exemplify this. I’ve gone in before, sat down, and walked out after waiting 10+ minutes with zero acknowledgement. I’ve been coming in about once a month since my first review and I’ve found this to be consistently true. Thank god the new bartender Grant was super awesome and was the first bartender here to not only have a conversation with me, but actually make eye contact. Thanks Grant, I’ll stick to Thursdays.
