My goodness I wish I had read the Unilocal reviews of this office before handing over my steep co-pay of $ 60 for a totally worthless visit. I had a very similar experience as the others. After waiting nearly two hours past my scheduled appt at the 55 Greene Ave office, I too was told that they only accept cash or check. Why on earth do they not mention this on the phone when you make the appointment so you can be prepared with the cash?! I looked at the doctor(it was not C-R working that day) with horror and tears sprang to my eyes as I explained that I was now very late for work and in a lot of pain so could she please see me now since I had been waiting so long? I took all the cash I had out of my wallet($ 44) and begged her to please see me and I promised that after the appointment I would come right back with the remaining $ 14. She refused. She promised though that if I came back with money she would see me right away. So I hobbled in pain down down two flights to the street to find an ATM. I came right back with money — and guess what — she had moved on to the next patient and made me wait longer. Finally, she took me in. She pressed down on my injury and I cried out in pain. I said«can we please take an X-ray? I am quite sure I have a stress fracture. I have had them before and know what they feel like.» She then informed that there was no X-ray machine in the office. I was absolutely dumbfounded, in total shock. A podiatrist office without an X-ray machine? She said she would send me to another place on Atlantic Ave for the X-ray. At this point I seriously wanted to cry. What was the point of the long wait for a visit without an X-ray!!! My god, when I made the appointment I even mentioned that i was coming in for an injury that might be a fracture. And then she informed that after they took the X-ray at the other office that I would not get the results for a week. A week? If it’s a fracture, I supposed to walk on it for the next week? So I explained that I had a business trip in just a few days and really needed treatment before then as I did not want to risk making the injury worse. She wrapped my foot tightly with gauze and then said that Dr. C-R was in the Queens office and I could get X-rayed and get the results there. So I took a costly, long cab ride to Queens in order to get the X-ray done that day. When I finally got there, I sat for another half hour and then Dr. Carter-Robbins came out and said«Why are you here? You know you can’t get the results of your X-ray today?» I looked at her in total disbelief. I said«The doctor called you and told you why i was coming. Why didn’t you say something then? And why did your office take my money if they could not X-ray me?» She got visibly angry and yelled«For the evaluation!» She then walked off and I did not see her again. An assistant(who I should mention was extremely kind and was obviously embarrassed by the doctor’s rudeness and lack of compassion and took pity because of the pain I was in) took my X-ray and promised to call me if the results came in sooner. Sorry for the long post, but it’s Friday and I am still in a lot of pain, and I wasted my insurance visit on this office, and won’t get the results of the X-ray until Wed and I really want to help others avoid this situation in the future. Seriously — waiting a week for an X-ray is bullshit. Never in my life have a I ever waited more than a few hours for X-ray results. Making someone wait a week for X-ray results in unprofessional and unethical. DON’T give this office your money if you have other options.

This lady doctor is a very nice beautiful lady cordial & friendly. You can really talk to her. The doctor gets 5 stars. On my first visit I was very early & was giving a through exam. The co-pay I had to give cash not a check & had to go 2 floors on to the street level for this. I was told not to have the bunion surgery because of my flat narrow feet. I was also told it would cost $ 400, for the surgical orthopedic othodic measured plaster foot inserts. I was also told my health insurance does not cover this procedure. It took 2 months for the pre measured inserts. I was sooo disappointed & felt like a fool & robbed. The inserts were a hard plastic mole of my feet but the over cover for the sole was styrofoam & lasted 2 weeks. I never went back & claimed this as a loss on my taxes. A total waste of hard earned money & all the medicare patients gets theirs for FREE.

Do yourself a favor and do not see this doctor. A.) This entire office has the bedside manner of a bouncer in the meat-packing district. B.) After an ungodly wait, the doctors spent about 10 min with me and my two spiral fractures in my foot, slapped a cast on me, and told me that I was stuck in a cast and on crutches for 2 months. Crutches in NYC for a guy who lives in a 4th floor walk up. What go wrong there? Thankfully, I sought a 2nd opinion and was placed in a walking boot after 2 weeks. C.) They would not take a card or check for the co-pay and made me hobble down to the first floor to use an ATM while I was on crutches. This is a perfect example of what is wrong with the US medical system. *Note to Unilocal– I would love to give them a negative star. Can we make that happen?

And to update my previous review, about waiting an hour and a half: At the end she wrote me a prescription. I took it to the pharmacist. When I went to pick it up, the pharmacist said, «They don’t make that medicine any more. It’s just salicylic acid, you can get it over the counter in lots of different products.» So that’s what I got for an hour and a half of waiting and a $ 20 copay.
