If you like halal food, this is a great place to come to in this area. Unfortunately this area doesn’t have many restaurants, this is one of a few. I had the salmon over rice with salad, the salmon with grilled to perfection and well seasoned. The rice taste good as well, and salad is a salad. My meal was under $ 10, and what I liked the most the salmon was prepared fresh. I ordered the salad but the chicken gyro was sold out. Depending on the time you come some of the menu items may not be available which can be disappointing. They offer a decent size dine in area. They accept cash & credit. The restaurant is cleaned and so are the bathrooms. The staff is nice but not very talkative. Again restaurants are limited in this area you can’t go wrong coming here.

I really was excited about this place. The first time I ordered they forgot something but the food was tasty so gave them a pass. The second time they forgot another item but it was a fast delivery. They need to spend more time making sure they have all the items. The third time the delivery man came he was confused about our gate and pulled it the opposite direction and forced it open backwards and broke the front gate to the building. He said it he didn’t do it. We called and complained about this incident and they did not apologize instead cursed on the phone and hung up. We called again and said they needed to speak to the landlord and the same thing happened they refused to pay for fixing the gate, laughed and hung up. Terrible customer service and be careful with your building gates!

Not a fan: I’ve been to Istanbul and am a lover of Turkish food, but I was not impressed by this place. The people are nice enough and the service is excellent, but I think more attention needs to go into the food. I ordered a kefta sandwich, which is ground lamb patties inside a wrap. What I got was a wrap that was mostly lettuce inside, with only 2 — 3 patties inside. Most of the sandwich was just filler, and the sauces served on the side didn’t really improve the flavor. My girlfriend ordered a lamb kebob platter which had a big plate of rice with just 6 tiny pieces of lamb arranged on top. Not really impressive. Okay, maybe that was the reason the prices were so low. But seriously, I’d rather pay more and get an adequate amount of meat, than go cheap and get only a little. There is a very nice lamb lahmacun(sp?) which is like a tiny pizza with ground lamb baked on top. It’s pretty delicious, and at $ 3.95 is almost worth it. I found the staff very polite and obliging, and the place is clean, but truthfully, I think they need to deliver more when it comes to the food.

I can authoritatively say that Taksim 2 is consistently excellent, because I order delivery from there about three times a week. My favorite is the chicken shish kebob — so juicy, flavorful, and filling. It’s a good value, and delivery is always fast and friendly. Lucky to be in their delivery area!

I’ve given this place a couple of tries, but the food has always been tasteless and staff was never friendly. At least it’s clean in there

Just ordered from here. Great cheap food. If you’re hungry, you can drop ten bucks for more food than you could even eat. Great spicy gyro

My co workers swore by this place for lunch, and as always, I’m down to try any and everything. They always get the chicken doner(chicken over rice or salad) french fries, side of bread and a drink. Okay so it’s carb overload but damn those fries are crispily fried. There is even room to dine in. The lunch options in this area are very few and very little in terms of variety, so I’m happy to report that Taksim Square will see me again for another round of lunch.

overall the experience was pleasant and delicious Best item by far and the star of the show IMO is the Lacmancun — the turkish lamb schmeared flatbread that is made to order and was so worth the 20 minute wait. Next favorite was the RICE — OMG this rice is so tender and flavorful — perfect kernels with good depth of flavor and strands of vermicelli — yum!~ another outstanding dish was the chicken chops — two boned out thighs — beautifully marinated and grilled. Tender and juicy while thin and boneless — how do they do that? The things that were OK but nothing exciting were the complimentary ice berg salad the babaganoush(too heavy with tahini) the homemade bread — lacking in flavor but fresh. and the lamb patties — a bit bland but still juicy. I probably would rate it 3.5 but more on the side of 4 If I had had only our favorite items I would have given it 5 stars!

Holy Kafta Kabob, this place is a Turkish deeeeeeelite! You would never guess that this brightly lit fast food joint would boast such culinary accomplishment. The salmon kebab is a highlight as is the mezze platter and yummy rice. Seth and Gary take pride in their kitchen and add to a friendly vibe to an immaculately clean dining area. Not to mention that the prices are an 80s throwback — a lot of good food for two for twenty bucks! Grab that fez and dervish your way to Taksim Square pronto.

This place is excellent. We ordered off of seamless and they had fast delivery and it was cheap!!! The food was delicious. This might be our new go-to instead of Istanbul Park. We ordered: — Mixed Tabouleh, Hummus, Babaganoush and Ezme which was fantastic — Bread — hot and fluffy and flavorful — Small Platter — Chicken Adana — Platter — Lamb Adana The platters have excellent, light tasty fresh rice and they provide a good amount of yogurt and spicy sauces. I will definitely order from here again. Note: The Doner is only available on Monday and Tuesday.

I’m basing my review solely off of the Doner and Kofte kebab wraps. The meat had no flavor. Tried to spice it up with the«hot» sauce and tahini but the hot sauce was not hot whatsoever and the tahini incredibly watered down. I’m truly shocked at the good reviews as every street cart gyro I’ve had soars over Taksim. Also not sure why they’re all wrapped in tortillas. It’s like a bland lamb burrito with zero redeeming qualities. However, I have to give one of the workers props for labeling my sandwich«Boner» kebab. At least the employees have a sense of humor about their subpar food.

My students came rushing into the classroom one day to proclaim, «That Turkish place is AHHH-MAZing.» Being that they were more enthusiastic about the chicken gyro than their English essay, I decided to mosey on over there. They were right! The chicken kebab platter + the Babaganoosh is the way to go for a filling lunch/dinner.

I came out here for lunch with my fiancé, and trusting fellow Unilocalers, we decided on Taksim Square 2. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. My first impression is yes, it’s small, but with adequate seating areas. There were 3 tables for two, 3 tables for four, and a large booth in the corner. The other impression was that it was surprisingly clean and well kept. I’m not sure how new the establishment it, but it was nice to see. I ordered the Kofte Kabob, small platter. It was a good amount of food. The meatballs were decent, but what really blew me away was the rice and salad. The salad was fresh and well dressed, and the rice was moist. I always feel that rice gets the short end of the stick because it can sit out and become dry, but Taksim had theirs spot on. And for the price, you couldn’t beat it. My fiancé had the doner wrap, and it was decent, But I felt that the small platter was a better choice, because of the rice! Overall, a great spot for lunch. If I’m in the area, would definately stop by again.

I ordered delivery after recently having food from Istanbul Park in Park Slope. Overall, I think the food from Taksim is much more flavorful and better quality, but you get less for your money. We ordered the Mix Grill Platter, the Falafel, and sides of hummus and Turkish bread, all for about $ 30. I was a little disappointed at the amount of meat in the Mix Grill Platter. It’s clear they just filled the container with hefty amounts of rice and salad to make up for the meat. However, despite that I still really enjoyed everything I ate. The meat was tender, cooked well, and seasoned really nicely. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pork chop, but the rest was delicious. The falafel was one of the better I’ve had and the Turkish bread + hummus was perfect! Bread was warm, a little crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. And the hummus was really silky and flavorful. I think best surprise was this red hot sauce that comes with your meal. I poured it on everything. Now that my expectations are slightly adjusted, I will definitely order from Taksim again.

The menu is a bit broader and thus less focused than nearby Kofte Piyaz aka Grilled Meatballs but delivery is super fast. Like 15 minutes sometimes. Their red lentil soup is nowhere near as good as Kofte, nor is their rice pudding as good as Murat’s almond pudding, but I will say their homemade bread(soft chewy rolls) are TODIEFOR and their Eggplant Salad with Tahini is a welcome addition to my eating-out palette here in this meager zone for food between the parks of Slope & Sunset. Their chicken shish kebab platter is my go-to entrée. Lamb is a close second. However, they close too early on weekdays too. Cash register was closed before 9 pm. But Grubhub is super fast like I said. Don’t think they’re on Seamless yet as of this review March 2014.

Falafel, hummus and lamb are good. Their gyro meat is alright. I love that orders come with warm bread. Greek salad is not that good. Delivers fast.

A few days ago my aunt and I passed by here and picked up a menu. Today we came here for dinner. Itis not a big place and it is basically a quick serve restaurant with no wait staff. The person who takes your order at the counter will bring your food on plastic plates on a lunch tray once it is ready. I ordered the Mix grill, which included lamb and chicken shish, lamb and chicken adana, doner and lamb chop. Since it was a platter it came with rice, salad and two Turkish rolls(that’s the best way to describe them) My aunt ordered Meze Platter which according to their tabuli, ezme, babaganoush, hummus and grape leaves. It also included some sauteed eggplant with tomatoes. The food was ready in about 5 minutes. The components of the meze platter were all ready to go when ordered but my food which had to be cooked was what took the time. All the meats on my dish were well seasoned and well cooked. Everything was tender and delicious. The certain pieces had nice grill marks like the boneless chicken breast and the lamb chop. The rice was nice and fluffy. The bread was soft hot and fresh.
