So first time I’ve made it over to the Beer Hall since they changed things up. Came in last night around 8:30pm or so, no issues with small kids running around, but they did sell juice boxes at the bar, so they do cater to them(or are very precocious). We didn’t know that it was Buy One, Get One free for beers on the night which was a good surprise. However their execution was poor in getting us those beers. For having 2 bartenders that were pulling draft beers(or draft wine) for 95% of the drinks, it took a very long time to get a drink. Then when you got your beer, it was definitely too warm. I understand that some beer shouldn’t be served ice cold, but this was not near cold enough. You were told to hang on to your receipt to get your next beer on the house. Which led to some confusion about when people had tabs open and weren’t getting receipts. For food, they now have an Asia Dog kiosk which is cool. Took a little bit to get our corndogs, but they were quite tasty. The new games were fun, and the beer pong arcade was something I hadn’t tried before(however it did have some issues where it wasn’t working). Liked the beer selection, games and the 2 for 1 Mon. — Wed., did not enjoy the warm beer and slow service.

If by «bar» you mean«playpen», then this place is for you! If you have kids and want to have a drink with them in tow, you’ll love it. Last time I was here, service was horrendous, there was only German beer, and it took around 30 minutes to get one. This most recent tIme, service was a bit better, though when you have to go up to the bar to order at a place this large, there can be a bit of a wait. They now have a variety of decent beer. There’s food in the back that you order separately– Pretzels, fries, brats, etc. Everything our group tried was pretty average. The arcade games are fun, until you get pushed out of the way by the children running around the place. It’s definitely good for a group if you make a reservation(major redeeming quality here and I was there for a party), especially if that group includes children. Every single table seemed to be reserved, so it might be difficult to sit down otherwise on a weekend. Park slope, kids in bars, ugh.(See photo– kids were even up at the actual bar.)

Thank you guys so much! I was one of the guests at the retirement party yesterday and have to leave you an awesome review! You were so amazing — you turned down the music when we asked, helped us set up, were always available to help out or cater to odd food preferences! Shout out to the guy in the red shirt and blond hair, and the girl at the register handling the credit card transactions with a smile when the machine broke! This is the best venue for groups I’ve ever been to — enormous ceilings, well decorated, fun arcade games, and great lighting and tables! Awesome space overall! Thanks again to the staff! Hope to visit you again in the future!

KBH Beer Hall is awesome. There’s plenty of seating, they take reservations for big parties, the drinks are decent, there’s tons of arcade games, and even live music. This is an awesome place to hang out on any day or night when you just want a casual get together nearby. I’m a beer drinker, so I can appreciate a place with revolving taps and bottles – it’s hard to get bored. Although it’s hard for me to digress from my beloved ginger beer and Moscow mules! The only thing not awesome? When they confused my friend’s tab with another Asian person’s tab because one of them was named«Wu» and the other one was named«Woo.» You’d think they would check which Wu/Woo was ordering, but I get that that happens. No racial hard feelings.

Really not my kind of place, way too noisy and i was not that impressed with the selection of drinks(not bad but nothing special). The sound and the music selection was just not good enough for me but it might be ok for others.

We celebrated my husbands birthday here on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. Good beer, the place is clean, long tables with space for groups. There are fun games like air hockey, basketball, pinball, good music with touch tunes jukebox, the place is family friendly and who doesn’t like food from Asia Dogs?! Staff was also friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back!

This place was a hidden gem found in park slope, that I never knew existed! A group of my friends and I came one Saturday night around 10pm. The variety of beers they have is insane, they literally have a beer to satisfy anyone’s taste, along with a full bar. They also have a stand in the back where you can order food such as hotdogs, corndogs, bratwurst, fries and etc. The place was a lot of fun and was better than I expected! Can’t wait to go back

Great place to hang out with a large party and a really easy place to spend a night in general. Lots of room, games, and good beer! When we came by it was busy but not slammed, and it’s big enough that if there were more people there’d still be room for our group of 14. They had Ghostbusters on the screen and we had pretty much no wait on the air hockey table. Fun night. Will be back.

We had a low-key birthday lunch here this past Sunday from 12−2pm. Loved the large space inside and the fact that even though it’s a beer hall, they have some excellent eats provided by Asia Dog in the back(which DOES accept credit card. The bar also accepts credit cards now with a minimum purchase). Being a Park Slope, this place is super kid friendly(even selling $ 3 juice box drinks alongside the brews, haha) and has a ton of kids’ toys and games along a shelf. The adults had fun playing air hockey and the basketball shooting game. It was exactly what we were looking for: lots of space, relaxed atmosphere, kid friendly, and good food and drinks. Would definitely to large parties and people with kids.

I was really randomly surprised by this bar in Park Slope right by the Barclays Center — where did it come from? It’s so big, it felt like it should be in a different part of the city. Anyways, it was also fairly empty on a Friday night, so definitely a good spot for groups. Unfortunately it’s cash only and they only serve two wines on tap — I get that it’s a beer hall, but come on, give the non beer-drinkers who are there with friends a little more options. Still, I had fun and I loved the chicken sandwich I had from Asia Dog at the back, so 4 stars it is! This will definitely be a go-to before Barclays center events.

Been here twice. Went before an islander game, only a few blocks away. Great selection of beers. German fast food on hand. Had the brat and a pretzel, and it was very good. This isn’t a high class German joint but a good German beer garden. They have a few games on the side, with nice size tv’s for games. It’s a nice stop before a hockey game. A beer and a brat or pretzel and go on your way. I will definitely keep this place as my starting point before an islander game in the future.

As far as a bar, it’s a bar… a really really really big bar. As far as a beer hall, egh. I guess? I mean, it sorta looks like one. Not really. Kinda maybe sorta. Ugh I have no idea what’s happening here. But it’s big, loud, and serves beer so maybe that’s what makes it a beer hall? I’m not sure where the line is when it comes to beer gardens that aren’t quite in Park Slope but basically are in Park Slope, ok it’s in Park Slope. Ok fine, it’s a big bar that serves a decent Kolsch or two and welcomes drinking while board gaming — for all that I’m appreciative. Otherwise, not much to write home about here. It’s a loud garage with long benches and lots of TVs and arcade games. That pretty much makes it a sports bar in my book. But maybe I’m just a stickler for tradition?

I have a tendency to love beer halls like this one because they’re just so great for bigger groups. Tucked away on a less popular street, the KBH hides itself behind a curtain. Once you’re past, you’ve entered a large, open, German-style beer hall(think Oktoberfest tents, but… not in Germany). With typical bar games such as jenga, a great beer selection, a large screen TV in the back of the hall that can be viewed from any seat in the hall, and a decent snack menu(pretzels, anyone?!), I can see myself coming here every weekend. The only thing I can’t understand about this place is that it’s cash only. Sure, there’s an ATM in the bar itself, but being a place where you’ll be buying a round of drink for everyone in a group and potentially putting it all on one tab, it’s annoying that you’ve got to fork up $ 100 in cash.

Met up with a few friends & had a great time. The atmosphere is fun: air hockey, pool, beer pong, photo booth… a lot to do. The tables are long picnic-type tables, great for gathering. For the non-beer drinker, they have some liquor, just don’t expect to have mixed drinks since they don’t have many mixers. One of the male bartenders was not friendly, seemed irritated by us asking about the beers– hello, it’s a beer hall! The«giant pretzel» was not giant and looked like the kind you buy in the freezer section at the store. The kielbasa was delicious though. Be sure to take cash– they do not accept anything but cash. They do have an ATM in the building though.

The bar stools are the SH! T! They are heavy, weighted, large and have the ability to allow you to sit cross legged and comfy with no worry about falling(unlike Threes Brewings aluminum tripods they call stools) and if you were to fall or knock one of these over then you obviously enjoyed the evening. The next greatest thing that this German Beer hall has to offer is the basketball arcade. I love these machines! A motivation to not only come back but continue to play since they award a free beer for making 50 points or higher. I have only gotten 48, but next time…

If I had a choice I’d never come back here… First time I had an okay time, this was around a year ago when they had waitress come to the table. The end tab was ridiculous and difficult to figure out… Second time, they ran out of beer, at 10:30−11pm on a SATURDAYNIGHT. 3rd time, yesterday, bar was nearly empty except during the game. Took forever to grab a drink at the bar, they ran out of the beer I had asked for and they gave my boyfriend the wrong beer. Cheers.

Came here last week for my work holiday party and wow we had a blast! This place will go down in history as the first place which I tried Newcastle which is absolutely delicious! I also really enjoyed the mulled wine. The space is huge and the service was friendly. I really enjoyed shooting hoops at the arcade style game. My colleagues also had a fun time at the pool table. This is definitely a great place for groups. I didn’t try any of the food but it definitely looked appetizing. I’ll definitely be back and I’ll definitely be looking to order something off the food menu next time.

I really enjoyed this place, came on a Saturday night. Firstly, they have board games to keep you entertained and pool, hoops, fooseball. It’s communal style seating, clean. Crowd was good. Young and mixed. Maybe 1 or 2 hipsters, that’s all. It wasn’t crowded or super noisy, sustainable conversation level. Great selection of beer to enjoy and they have cider on tap. They also seem to have an extensive selection of food items, basic American bar food. I didn’t try their food so I can’t review(we had just come from dinner). The staff was sweet. We had a cake with us(just because) and they provided us with s knife and utensils.

Oh gosh, don’t go here. Take 10 minutes to walk up the street and go to Black Forest Brooklyn instead. My boyfriend has wanted to come here forever since it’s just around the corner from my apartment. I warned him that Unilocalers don’t like it. Trust Unilocal my friends, it knows the truth! Anyway. he bought a Groupon thinking this would convince me to go. So we went… despite the abysmal crowd inside during a Mets world series game. The only plus for me was that they had a huge projector playing the game and plenty of space to sit. We tried to order food and were told the Groupon won’t work for food. Okay, fair enough. Then we went to the bar and were told that they no longer accept Groupons at all. We were disappointed, but the bartender treated us well and definitely improved the overall experience. But now we have to figure out a way to get our Groupon refunded. The food came out quickly which was good. But the«giant pretzel» was not giant, though the beer cheese was pretty good. The bratwurst was similar to store-bought quality as was the roll it came on(standard issue hot dog bun). But the spicy ketchup on top was okay. Their take on a mac and cheese with spaetzle was probably the most disappointing item. the bread crumbs sprinkled on top were burned and it’s all we could taste. Otherwise, it was pretty similar to kraft mac and cheese. Honestly, I would never order food here again. Since the space is pretty big and their bartenders were friendly, I might recommend it to a big group who wants a chill atmosphere and German-style beers. Otherwise, Black Forest all the way!

This place is going downhill. The KBH used to be a solid German beer hall however something has gone very wrong. The waiters and table service are now gone. The menu now features such German fair as tater tots, pigs in blankets and a «German» meatballs. What the heck is a «German» meatball? The food takes a long time to come out despite the place being two thirds empty. My currywurst was good but it was not actual currywurst instead it was a bratwurst in a bun with a side of ketchup and mustard. Currywurst doesn’t come in a bun and contains curry! The fries were only partially cooked. It would seem obvious that the cornerstone of any bierhalle is the beer. However, they really have cut down on the selection of German beer since my last visit in the fall. behind the bar half the shelves were they used to store glasses for the beer are now empty. It seems they are featuring more domestic drafts than ever before. Not good not good at all. Several reviews have complained about the staff and I must disagree. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. No complaints to be had about them. Pros + Decent selection of beer + Good prices + Good Sausage Cons — Currywurst is not currywurst — Undercooked fries — No table service — Dwindling beer selection — Kitchen is slow — Non-german food items

Standard German style beer hall. This place is extremely understaffed. There was only 1 person to bartend/serve tables and 1 cook. Once a few other groups of people entered the establishment, you could tell the server was extremely overwhelmed. On a positive note, he was very apologetic and gave us 2 rounds of shots! The beer menu is still off a chalk board, and it is nothing too exciting. As for the menu, the tater tots are great, the kielbasa is okay… not very flavorful and the pretzel reminded me of the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store.

I used to hold events here with a group that I worked with and I can say that it is a solid choice for bars in Brooklyn. I brought 2 of my Beer aficionados here and they both really loved it. The food is okay not the best but the snacks(try the pretzel) and dessert(Apple Crisp) are good if you just need something to fill you up for more beer. The seating can be obnoxious if you end up next to a group of really drunk people. One of my favorite things about this place was the music, there is definitely an eclectic sound there. It makes you want to get up and dance and I love that aspect. One of my annoyances with this places and honestly a lot of places in and around Park Slope is the fact that people often bring their children into the bar and drink around them. I mean it is a regular occurrence and I just think it is irresponsible and if I am not mistaken illegal. This is not a family establishment, After 5 in my opinion and I think it ruins the atmosphere to see children running around unattended because their parents are drinking. OTHER than that it’s a great place, especially if you like beer.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon as a respite after a long, sweaty walk through Prospect Park. This place is a pretty bog standard beer hall. The tap list was out of date and we had to order off a chalk board which was weird. The beers were good, not too cold, and reasonably priced — though a liter should not just be twice the price of a half. The food was above average but crazily overpriced. $ 6 for a small brat on a tiny dinner roll? Get the hell outta here. Service was remarkably indifferent, the place was a little too hot and sweaty, the bathrooms were kinda dingy for the rest of the bar and had no towels. Oh, and the music play list was weird. I would not come back unless I was going with a bunch of friends and they wanted to go. The beer hall has been done much better by others.

— Awesome long benches like the ones you’d find in Munich — Music is an odd rap choice for the place — The price points are lacking a marketing edge. Get half liter for X and full liter for 2x. What’s the point buying a fu liter for a warm big cup. Just get two half and keep the beer cold — Ordered the Hofbräu dunkel and it was a bit sour. The Gaffel Kölsch was fine, tasted flat — All the beers are not very cold, but that’s my preference — Serve was adequate for ordering, no personality and no German speakers! — Bring your own board game with friends. They do not provide. — Large open space and large projector for games

This place was so much fun! Came here with a group after having a boozy brunch at Black Forest. This place is huuuuuge. High ceilings and a ton of big tables; perfect for a big group of friends. We brought cards against humanity, ordered a couple boots(2 liters of beer), and had a ball. We also had some hot pretzels, wings, and fries to snack on after all the beer. All in all, a great spot– as long as you’re thirsty.

No! Do not come here if you value good food, you will find none here. First, the waitress ignore us for some time before we were final served. And the service was pretty horrible for the rest of the night. Our waitress was not sure about what is on the menu. We decided to get food and drinks. Our food came at different times, but are drinks were the last to come, how is that possible at a German beer hall!!! The drinks were ok but were overpriced for a place that pretends to be a beer hall. In addition the food was horrible! The bratwurst was way too small, the sliders were over seasoned and overcooked. they taste like burnt garlic. I felt sick after having them. It gets worse we wait 20 mins for a beer for my girlfriend that we later find out they didn’t have. What is their problem when they dont know what they have on their menu. Oh and they have a $ 15 minimum. Avoid…if not run far away from this place… it’s not worth the time or the money for what you get!!! That is the truth!

I am kinda on the fence about this place, it was kinda missing something, oh yeah, people. =) I went with some friends on a Sunday night, with the Giants playing the Cowboys on the big screen tv, and this place was empty. I think there might have been a total of maybe ten people and the place was actually pretty spacious. Walking in, I was thinking this place was going to be similar to the other Beer Halls that have been popping up all over Brooklyn, but this place was missing the vibe. The outside has the old German feel and the inside has large communal picnic tables. The food: Nuremberger– three thin pork sausages served with sauerkraut. For me, the sauerkraut was too overwhelming, I thought it was too aggressive and couldn’t taste anything else. The sausages were OK, they reminded of breakfast links. Weisswurst & Pretzel– boiled pork & veal mix sausage served with pretzel & sweet mustard. My friend ordered this dish and she was not pleased. I tried it and it was a very mild flavored sausage even with the addition of mustard. Also, the sausage was served in a very unusual way, it’s served in a bowl with hot water with the two sausages bobbing in the water. Never seen that before. Weihenstephaner Hefe– Weissbier– I am a big fan of Hefeweizen. I thought this beer was great, nicely chilled and refreshing.

We were delighted to discover this beer hall while walking in Park Slope. They advertised jerk or roast pork with green and potato salad for under $ 12. To top it all they were playing FIFA World Cup 2014. There were rows after rows of benches to seat on, a large bar and a very wide projector screen hanging in front of the hall. The waiters are equipped with a tablet computer and took our orders electronically making the whole ordering and paying procedure fast and efficient. The food portion was a bit small in my opinion. Although delicious, my craving was compensated by a large glass of Radeberger pilsner. We will come back here soon, the staff are really awesome. But we will probably ask and order from a regular menu instead of the day’s special.
