The food is always very tasty and for the price not bad.

It has been so hard for me to find a location near the metro tech center area with affordable options and great service… then I found Tio Pio. I’ve experienced it at different times — during peak lunch time hours and after 5pm. When I went after 5pm, the food tasted kinda dry but when I went at like 2 pm, the food was just right. I never regret spending money on my meal($ 9!) Depending on the server, they may or may not try to be slick and give you small portions. If I leave and my container of food feels light, something is wrong. On a good day, my favorite employees are working at the hot food station and they always hook me up. The chicken tastes like it was taken right off the grill… so good! I love to have options and Tio Pio has plenty of them. The cake display looks really good too. No matter how long the line is, they move pretty fast so don’t let that scare you away from walking in. I give this restaurant a solid 4 stars!

This location is great! They have a variety of options ranging from breakfast items including bagels, muffins, pastries and hot food to a salad station and hot food for lunches. The coffee is fresh and hot. The service is also friendly. Definitely recommend!

Food was dry as if it was there for a long time. It didn’t have any taste. Bad service & it was expensive. Terrible experience!

Love this place! I stay close by for work regularly and have made this place my go to breakfast spot! They have fresh made juice which is amazing and really cheap! As for breakfast I’ve gotten the oatmeal, made my own yogurt parfait, and latest obsession is the breakfast burrito which is eggs, roasted chicken, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese– it is out of this world! They also have a variety of omelets and other wraps and salads to choose from. Staff is super friendly and I love how affordable everything is! A must try local spot in Brooklyn!

Cheap, fast and huge portions at Tio Pio. There is a salad line and a hot food line. I was served right away — in and out(take-out) in five minutes. Many different meat and fish options with typical Spanish sides(rices, plantains, beans etc). Lunch came to $ 9.25 with tax for ¼ rotisserie chicken with 3 sides — I got spinach, yuca and Spanish rice. Food was fine — chicken had good flavor but was somewhat dry. Rice was great while yuca and spinach were just mediocre. I was certainly full after(couldn’t even finish it all), so I would recommend for a quick, inexpensive lunch in Downtown Brooklyn.

The breakfast is completely awful. Nasty burnt eggs and bacon. Ugh! I will never eat here again.

I found this gem after a long morning of errands and am so happy I did. You can get custom salads, juice/smoothies or a platter of delicious Spanish food. If you’re a picky eater like me than I highly recommend this place as you can pick and choose as much as you’d like :-) Being the only Spanish food place in the area other than Sophie’s which is most definitely pricier, I can definitely foresee long lines at certain times of the day. But at 3 o’clock on this beautiful Saturday, the place isn’t all that busy.

Food was very fresh well made. I got take out, they were very fast and evrything tasted good! I got the chicken dish with plantains n salsa and telapia with rice .the price is $ 9.50 n $ 10+ .so I think for the type of food they are serving price should not be more than $ 8. !

I was extremely disgusted by this place. The coffee tasted like the coffee machine was not cleaned properly, the turkey bacon was improperly cooked, and for two western omelets, I was charged 20 dollars. This place relies on its brand and not the quality. Two thumbs down!!!

Not a bad little Spanish style restaurant in downtown Brooklyn. A decent sized selection of hot foods and sides. I had a pork chop, yellow rice, corn and a bottle of water for $ 10. You can’t beat that.

Sooooo I was really looking forward to eating my lunch from Tio Pio until I opened the container to find three medium sized turd looking plantains in my plate. wtf? why the hell would you give that to someone? While I understand it’s the«lunch hour rush» I’m sure its not something that was overlooked.

NOTE: 3.5 Stars I would like to give this place another try. I came here during lunch and it was a madhouse. Took me a bit of time to order, get my food and leave. The food was pretty good once I finally got to eating it. I got the oxtails with rice and beans. All very tasty and I was promptly half asleep at my desk after eating it. A sign of a good meal is sleepiness and lack of focus on work for the rest of the afternoon. Will have to give this place another try for dinner. The lunch rush was chaotic. I didn’t feel like I was getting much of a deal as my food ended up being almost $ 13 dollars. Everything around the Metrotech area is overpriced as hell for no reason but I guess with so many patrons they can charge a premium. Staff was very friendly and tried to get things moving as quickly as they could despite the long line. If you do not want hot food they had a salad bar available. Honestly there are better places to get a salad in the area especially right down the street. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the dream I had while napping afterwards was pretty hilarious.

You come here because you want to splurge on calories. Do yourself a favor and skip that salad bar — their chicken is dry and the veggies are just sub-par. Get in the hot-meal line… I always go for the rice and beans, as well as mac and cheese… Actually, I think those are the only two sides Ive gotten there. Ive had the oxtail and the roast pork — both are greasy and salty, but oh, so delicioso.
