Oh my goodness… I am soooo tired right now cuz lastnight my fam and I went to this spot. It was a first for me cuz I can’t hang out late during the week. After hearing their rave reviews about Under the J last week, I had to check it out. Lastnight was comedy night and it was off the hook. Six Comedians! Can it get any better… food was great but the drinks, eehh, they were ok. The owner was quite friendly and accommodating to our group of 8. I left at 12:30 and yes I’m returning week after week. So happy to have shared some laughs with my fam at this spot.

This is why I love Brooklyn…
Went for a walk last night with my friend Drew, just to get out of the house. Walked down Broadway. Saw a bar that looked pretty packed. Didn’t plan on drinking so kept walking and then turned around and came back and looked in the window again. Someone invited us in… I think it was actually the owner. It was apparently karaōke night.
We walked inside. The place was FULL of happy, laughing, singing, dancing and drinking Brooklynites and loud R&B, hip hop, and soul comin outta the speakers. My plans changed instantly. My water turned into Hennessey. My leisurely walk turned into a late night of karaōke and dancing and making new friends. Something completely unplanned turned into one of the best nights I’ve had since I’ve lived in NYC.
Needless to say, Under the J is my new favorite place. I think it’s only been open a couple weeks. But i heard the food is really good (and it did LOOK good) and the Wednesday night Comedy is off the hook. You can bet I’ll be back to sing and dance with my new friends at my new joint. Props to Under the J for making last night really memorable.
