It’s a regular supermarket but they get the 4th star for offering a decent amount of organic produce and vegan/vegetarian brands.

This Waldbaums is within walking distance so of my house so in a pinch I’ll go here for last minute stuff. It’s terrible. Plain and simple. From the cleanliness of the store to the products that are available to the snotty cashiers who can’t be bothered doing anything more dragging a bar code over a glowing red laser beam. It’s aggravated me before but after watching a cashier yesterday get snotty with and roll her eyes at a man because she had to pick up and scan an item that was larger than most, I’ve had pretty much had it with this place.

I’m pleased to report that on the few times I’ve stopped in at this Waldbaum’s during the past year I have not smelled a rotting odor in the parking lot or meat department. Hopefully they’ve resolved the problem. IMO it’s an adequate store with a nice produce aisle.

I started coming here about a month ago. We go once to twice a week food shopping. Very clean and easy to shop. The sale items are in stock. I prefer a smaller place to cut the«little guy» a break but I really like coming here. Parking is easy. Even though this place is set in between a good and terrible neighborhood, the inside is nice and laid back. I will continue shopping here. I do suggest it if you like laid back. Come early though.

I’ve been a customer at this particular Waldbaum’s for years. They have given a consistent high level of service. They hire friendly and intelligent people, while providing excellent prices. I have been most impressed by their meat selection, and the accessibility of their butchers. When I needed a very large roast, their butcher was available(he was stocking the shelves) and cut me the roast I needed, weighed it, and had it wrapped and out to me in 5 minutes. I have NEVER encountered a rude or obnoxious employee there. When I did my storm shopping, to gather supplies for Sandy, I encountered a manager, stacking water just inside the entrance. I asked him to drop a couple cases in my cart, and he did. He then pointed out that they had a special on for three cases. They had in fact DROPPED their prices in the face of an oncoming crisis. This same manager was bagging groceries when I left. I told him how highly I thought of them having extra people on hand to help with the rush, constantly restocking, helping customers, answering questions. He told me that they were there to serve the community, and that he really really hoped it helped people be prepared and safe. I am seriously impressed, and am glad I shop there. Thank you guys for acting as you do. As part of our community.

This Waldbaums is small and smells really strangely of cinnamon & curry. Besides that… there was a whole lot of nothin’ on the shelves when we went recently. On the plus side– they were nice about giving rain checks, and that can’t be said for every other grocery store. if you have the means… drive over to the Ralph Ave store. it’s bigger, has self checkout, and doesn’t smell like take-out.

Ehhh this place is like a key foods but with worse service. Selections are mediocre at best and the staff isn’t very helpful. Prices are decent though… but not worth going out of the way for.

Nice place with parking. They have a great assortment of items and some great deals on steaks once in a while especially if you are a Walbaum’s card holder
