Cocktails are fine, but the bartender(tall, white, pretentious) yelled at me(short, Asian, shy) for not looking him in the eye while ordering drinks so I won’t be returning.

My kind of bar. Lighting, décor, staff and delicious cocktails. Sat at the bar and got the Greenpoint. A yummy take on a Manhattan. Will absolutely return and highly recommend to anyone in the neighborhood.

Maybe it’s because this place has been so hyped up for me but… i tried 3 cocktails and none were very good! =/ Don’t get me wrong, this would be a great date spot– it’s the perfect amount of loud and the right amount of sultry darkness.1 star for the sub-par drinks but 4 stars for the adorable inside and the staff– entertaining and very sweet I’ll definitely come back and try again, maybe we just chose the wrong drinks that day…

Really good spot for cocktails. It’s hidden(there’s no sign outside) and the inside is like an old subway entrance, but it’s really great. Do yourself a favor and go for the«bartender’s choice»…he’ll ask you for your liquor choice and, if you want, one ingredient you enjoy and he’ll come up with an incredible cocktail for you — I mean, really delicious. I had the best tequila cocktail AND the best gin/ginger cocktail I’ve ever had in my life under the«bartender’s choice.» These guys(and possibly gals, I’m not sure) know what they are doing.

You know in tv shows when they say something like, this place is so cool it tries not to advertise itself? That’s the vibe you get from the moment you enter since there is no sign. Once you get inside, that air continues and so for that reason it’s worth stopping by to enhance your night.

One of my favorite cocktail spots in BK… actually on the planet. It’s no frills: a small and dated warm woody room that’s very dimly lit with rustic fixtures and plenty of candles. The libations are always on point. Bar and table service both available and there is also an outdoor space.
Came in for a nightcap last night– careful when you walk by because you might miss it. Look for the white subway tile and you know you’re in the right place! As you walk in, you are greeted with a warm ambiance– white subway tile throughout and lovely box-like lighting installations. It definitely has a charming, old-timey feel. Cocktails were on point, music not too loud and the service was outstanding. The waitress was very friendly, offering my date and I seats at the bar or table, but we were fine standing by the wall taking it all in. Smiles all around from the servers/bartenders which is always appreciated. Looking forward to my next visit!

Tall a**hole male bartender, yells at you in front of everyone for not paying in full, then when you remind him that you had already paid for the first round, he doesn’t apologize for being completely obnoxious to customers who just spent $ 70 at the establishment. At least learn how to do your job, and know when someone has paid, before you try to yell at them. Maybe he’s stealing from the owner. Not worth ever coming back to.

Weather Up had been on my list of places to try for a very long time, so when a friend suggested we go there last Wednesday night, I was happy to oblige. We arrived on the early side, probably around 8. The front of the bar is somewhat dark, all wood finish with candles, and very chill. The back garden, which is lovely, was almost empty, so we opted for that. Service was friendly and attentive, and the drink menu was interesting. I don’t remember the names, but I had a drink with gin and another one with bourbon. My buddy had a mezcal drink. All three we tried were crafted perfectly and were really delicious. It was great to be able to just kick it out back in the garden and have the server bring us our tasty libations. Drinks run about $ 13 a pop, so probably not the best spot to spend your entire night, but more power to you. Also, they’re cash only, so come prepared. Can’t speak to the scene on weekends, but midweek was perfect. Nice balance of people, good vibes, cool setup, and excellent drinks. No complaints from me!

Weather Up is the epitome of Brooklyn bullshit. First off, they have no sign. Second, their air conditioning unit hangs directly above their unlabeled entrance. They haven’t even taken the few minutes to alter the flow of run off water. Rather, every patron is assaulted with dripping air conditioner water upon entering this hellhole. And once past the first obstacle, a heavy curtain greets you making your entrance to the bar further complicated. Now, Weather Up, despite being a pricy bar with NYC priced cocktails, is cash only. This infuriates me. Even worse, they do not have a phone. None. I attempted to contact the bar once this ensued: Hostess: «Weather Up, Tribeca.» Me: «Oh. I was trying to reach your Brooklyn location.» Hostess: «Oh. Um, they don’t have a phone.» Me: «So I’m just gonna bet they are still cash only.» Hostess: «Yea. Probably» In further frustration, the bartenders are obnoxious. Loudly conversing about their own lives and what happened to them yesterday and who they met, fucked, etc., all while haphazardly mixing cocktails. But don’t think that their shitty attitudes and completely self-centered attitudes stop them from being overly pretentious. Because there is plenty of that. Essentially, Weather Up is yet another bar that is too high on itself to realize the gaping flaws in their business model. Save yourself the headache and annoyance and drink at literally any other bar ever invented.

I enjoyed it. Came with friends, we sat in the garden and had some drinks and chilled out. Everyone around us seemed to be having a good time too. Good for friends or bringing a date. Waitress was nice too.

The bartender made me the best ginger drink I have had. I am a big fan of ginger(the real thing) not ginger beer. It was fresh, spicy and wonderful. Ask them how they make their ice cubes?

Visited this place with friends from the neighborhood while on April Break. Love the décor and«trappings.» More importantly, my rye old fashioned was great. Will most likely stop in again when I return to Brooklyn.

Seemed like a nice bar. I would’ve loved to actually have a drink. I had a friend who didn’t have her id and they kicked us out faster than an Olympic medal runner runs. I get that they have to follow the rules but they don’t have to be cold or snarky about it. I expect better.

5 stars for ambiance alone. The outside is unmarked so you might think you are lost. Very mellow music. There is outside seating available but I love the inside. Good drinks!

This bar has a cool Brooklyn vibe with a nice bar layout and back garden. The bartender and servers are very nice, offering cocktail recommendations that are spot on. But beware, Weather Up is CASHONLY.

Weather Up was great. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I waited a little while before I was able to sprint to two opening seats at the bar. The Bartender was super cool. The waitress was super cool. My date was… blah…(no I’m kidding. he was cool too) It was definitely worth stopping in to check out.

Weather Up is a lovely, utterly unpretentious speakeasy in Tribeca, Prospect Heights, and Austin(my home before NY, so I would love to go next time I’m in town). My friend invited me for drinks so I stopped by the Brooklyn location this past Saturday night. It was full but not overly crowded, but the backyard was slightly heated and had plenty of empty tables when we were there. Sadly, they closed the backyard around 11pm … but I would definitely recommend heading back there on a night that isn’t freezing. The inside can be a bit noisy. The drinks are great and only $ 11 or $ 12 a pop. I had one called the Bazooka and it was definitely the best of all the drinks I tried. Our server was really chill and friendly too. Love this place!
