Bought a beautiful gemstone necklace for $ 20. I believe it was the owner who was in the shop when I went and he was really helpful and patient. I told him the necklace was a gift so he placed it into a small box for me and included a gift bag with tissue paper.
Zen has a great selection of gifts, from jewelry to candles, trinket boxes to scarves. Love this local neighborhood gem — it’s been here for 31 years and I hope to see it around for many, many more.

I’ve been coming to Zen for 12 years, since I first moved to Bay Ridge. It is my favorite retail shop in the neighborhood, no question. The owners are wonderful people. I’m so glad they’ve found a way to keep their doors open and their shelves stocked with fun and great-​quality items despite a terrible economy and a neighborhood that is notoriously tough for small businesses. I have bought numerous gifts here, sometimes doing the entirety of my Christmas shopping in this one store. One year I bought everyone in my family carved wooden boxes. Some of these beautiful, handmade boxes have clever trick mechanisms to open them. My family members adored these. When my brother passed away, I inherited the box that I’d bought at Zen and given him for Christmas. It still sits on a shelf in my house, a beautiful treasure, always reminding me of him and how delighted he was to receive it.
I have bought jewelry boxes, gorgeous silk flowers, candles, picture frames, silk scarves, and tons of jewelry at Zen over the years. The real challenge is going in there for a gift and trying not to buy something for myself. The fact is that I always give in and buy «one for me, one for someone else.» Zen is not just a store that I visit now and then, it is an important part of my life and as long as I live in the neighborhood and their doors are open, I’ll keep coming in when I have a little extra money, knowing that I’ll always find something to make me or a loved one smile.

This is such a cute store for jewelry, gifts, or even just something nice for your house.
They have a beautiful jewlery selection (ranging in price from $ 11 to probably upwards of $ 100. A great selection of Yankee Candles make the store fragrant, and dozens of hidden treasures (statutes, fountains, stained glass) make this a shop worth visiting.

I love this store. The prices are reasonable and they sell so many great things that are good for gifts or just relaxing. Whether you like scented candles or just unique statues or furniture, you will love this store.
