Flatiron Conoco Broomfield

After driving by this Conoco a dozen or so times during my lunch break, I decided to finally give the car washing services a try. I was intrigued as I didn’t know any other gas stations in the area that offered full service car washes. And my vehicle, or «dog taxi», was in desperate need of a good cleaning and «dehairifying».
I was quite pleased when I analyzed the price sheet and saw the cost for the standard full car wash was $ 30 (not including shampooing of interior). This is about half the cost of the facility I used to go to, located around 4^th and Broadway in Denver. They weren’t very busy and expected my vehicle to be completed in about 15 minutes. Also a much shorter timeframe than I anticipated, so all good on my end.
So the price was good and the timeframe was good, but what about the results? Well, with a cheaper price, I wasn’t surprised to see that I got what I paid for. The interior didn’t look quite as clean as I had hoped for. While I expect some dog hair to remain as my cattle dog sheds A LOT, I thought they could’ve done a little better job of vacuuming. I was also a little disappointed by the dashboard area as I wasn’t quite sure if they had cleaned it or not. At the other facility in Denver, you could clearly tell when the dashboard was clean and they used a wax based cleaner that gives it a nice shine. I asked the man working on my car and he offered to give it another once over, but I was in a hurry to get back to work and declined.
All in all, I thought it was a decent carwash and was happy with the price and service I received. But if you’re looking for a little more gleam, I would recommend going to a facility that specializes in carwashes rather than a gas station with an extra service.

I had gone there twice before and found the quality of the gas to be decent, so I went back a third time.
This time, the keypad on the gas pump was covered with grease and grime, and did not recognize my entries after three tries. I had to have the attendant reset the pump twice. I finally gave up on using my credit card and gave them cash, prepaid.
Then, while putting the gas in and cleaning the windshields, the gas overflowed the gas tank!!! The automatic shutoff did not work! I went in and told the attendent that the shut off did not work, and that person lamely stated, ‘Do you want to speak to a manager?’ The answer should have been that they’d close that pump and fix it as SOON AS POSSIBLE.
So I went back out to the still with a pool of gasoline on the concrete all around (hoping there’d be no fire), and left. Thankfully, starting the car did not ignite anything.
Can you guess why I won’t go back?
