I like almost everything about this place! I’m surprised given the size of the twin cities and the proximity to Austin that there aren’t more ‘crunchy’ stores here(like a Whole Foods) but it’s nice to have any options at all, and nice to support local ownership. What I don’t like: the store is tiny so it’s full to the GILLS and if there are more than 7 – 8 other customers, it gets squashed, especially if carts are involved. I know they’ve been there a long time & probably have the building paid off and don’t want to move. Get some of those mini-size carts HEB has! The other thing is the hours are difficult if you have an 8−5ish job. I have to really hustle to get there before closing and not be that *** who walks in four minutes before closing. The Saturday hours are shorter and there ARE no Sunday hours. Given that, it would be nice if they were either open till, say, 7 or 8PM M-F or were open later on Saturday. The vibe is pretty chill and personally, anytime I’ve had questions, they try to be a help. I mean, no one knows the answer to every question, but they try to go get an answer; that’s good enough for me. I’ve been going in there for years; never seen any surly/unhelpful folks… not saying other reviews couldn’t possibly be true… but I’ve never seen it myself. I do like that even though the store is small, they will try to special order stuff they don’t carry. I’ve done that probably 6 – 7 times and only once were they not able to get the item. Yay! I love the local bison meat, the grass-fed milk, the Amish butter and the ease of special ordering. Wish there was a wider array of bulk items. If you’re looking for herbs or tea, the selection is OK, but I WISHHARD there were more things like olive oil/laundry soap/nuts/grains/dried fruits/cereals/etc. I would love to be able to reduce my packaging consumption(yeah, I know we have recycling, but I’d prefer to not have it in the first place. Overall it’s certainly worth checking out; I can’t do all my shopping there but I’m happy with the items I do get here. Go bigger, BNF!

I am thankful for Brazos Natural Foods. My wife and I are in the process of learning more about healthy choices as we get older. BNF almost always has what we ask for or what we are looking for. The help is suitable for the store. They have always been helpful without being overbearing. As far as the prices go I think considering their selection for their size and the care that they take in their facility the prices are very reasonable.(There are always going to be some items that seem too high and some a bargain.) I hope to see them not only stay in business but grow and move into a larger building. Thanks to BNF I find that I definitely eat healthier snacks which satisfy me and helps me to eat less overall.

It was so nice to be able to find a grocer in this area that could meet my certain food limitations! I didn’t get to spend as much time as I would like at the store this first visit, but I will be signing up for the weekly email as well as visiting again soon. We visit this area about once every 8 weeks and it is very hard to find good organic ingredients. I was very happy with their selections for the small area they service. I was able to find bacon with no added sugar as well as salsa with no sugar added. I wouldn’t plan to buy my produce thee — very little selection.

Went there on Saturday to check out the store(it’s a bit hard to find them open). We greeted the lady at the counter and… she just looked at us like we told her to go(blank) herself, didn’t say hi back, smiled or anything. So needless to say we left within minutes not really feeling welcomed and obviously not buying anything… Tip — if you hate your job… change it!

I just looked up Brazos Natural Foods to get their phone number, and all the nasty reviews JUSTIRKEDME. I’ve shopped here for 25 years. They’re wonderful. They don’t have everything, all the time, but they have an incredibly loyal, long-time clientele. If you got bad service here, you probably brought in an icky attitude. I lived in Poland for a year, and Janice shipped me huge boxes of stuff I couldn’t get over there. Over the years I’ve rather respected the fact that Janice is open during the hours she wants to be open. People adjust. That’s the difference, I think, between big cities and places like Bryan. We adjust. We all know where the Farm Patch is, and we go there, too. We know about Village Foods, and we go there, too. The Farmers’ Market isn’t open every day, much less till nine pm, but we go there, too. I will never stop shopping at Brazos Natural Foods. And now, I’ll get their phone number, and find out if my grain-sweetened chocolate chips ever came in. And if they haven’t, I’ll wait. I’ll go do some yoga. Or drink a cup of tea. And chill.

Their hours suck, and they’re closed on Sunday(hippies go to Church?!) Since the hours are so limited and make it difficult for people with jobs to get there, I’ve had to make it a point to do grocery shopping when I’m in Houston or Austin for business, as well as Amazon delivery, when applicable. I wish they’d at least match the hours of their neighbor, Jacob’s Well. Our household only eat Organics, and this is the only place in CS area we can trust to get our grocery from. We do try our best to support local small businesses rather than going to big retailers, but BNF’s timing make it difficult for patrons. There’s definitely room for improvement, and I wish I could rate this place higher, and write something more positive. :’-(

Brazos Natural Foods is the only place in town that sells tempeh, my main source of protein. They also carry many vegan-friendly snacks and ingredients. The people there are always friendly and very helpful. Actually, I found out about tempeh from one of the people there! There’s also a number you can text to ask questions about inventory. It’s so convenient! I’ve taken advantage of it many times. :)

BNF is gracious about ordering just about anything you want that isn’t stocked. The breads & frozen foods and spice, tea & granola selections are pretty good for such a small shop; you won’t find many of these healthier foods in local Super-Markets. There are also ‘green’ cleaning products and food & pet care items for your hairy & furry friends. Staff is always friendly & helpful.

Nice selection of locally grown produce. While the store is small they seem to be making great used of the space. The big grocery giants do not have locally grown produce so this is indeed a rare treasure.
