Excellent food and service! Unfortunately, there was a regular there who was pretty rude to us. Not a good end to a very good meal.

Service and food were below average at best. Bar tender uses a device to Shuck oysters — why not learn how to do it the right way? Restrooms were disgusting

Oysters are small and runny. Crawfish étouffée? hmmmm. I dont think so.

Came out to have some crawfish, unfortunately they go fast and we were late to the party! Had some raw oysters, fried crawfish basket and étouffée. A few of the oysters were on the small side, but still delicious! The crawfish basket and fries were great. The shipwreck sauce is awesome! My boyfriend said the étouffée was good as well. Great atmosphere and the servers were attentive and polite. Great experience and will definitely go back!

We went today for my daughter’s 21st birthday. The food was good and the place was handicap accessible. We had three shrimp baskets, shrimp tacos and étouffée. Baskets were a bit on the thin side. The other stuff was good.

I decided to try the restaurant after hearing some good reviews about it. I’m also a huge fan of Cajun style food. This restaurant did not live up to the hype for me. The batter on the fried foods was under-seasoned. The French fries were okay but unsalted which is a big no-no in the fried food department. We also ordered hush puppies as an appetizer and they had an okay flavor but were undercooked. The house Sangria is also not something I’d recommend. It’s flavorless and watery. If you want a place that serves cheap drinks and food this is the place, just don’t in expecting not excellent Cajun style food.

During crawfish season, this place is so awesome! The regular menu is pretty decent. Getting some seafood, sitting at the bar and having a few drinks, is a great way to spend your day/night.

I came in from Houston to visit fanily and Dylan was our waiter. We sat outside with 4 adults and 4 kids. The food came out very quickly and was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

I’m probably not the person to judge– because I ordered a burger. It was dry and just okay. Nobody in our group raved about their shrimp or fish. Service was slow and again just okay. Maybe we ordered wrong or went on a bad day? I do believe we saw the owner/manager walking around taking care of everyone and was friendly– always a plus in my book!

Considering this is really the only real seafood joint in town we don’t have much of a choice BUT to come here, but that’s not a bad thing because they are good! .60 cent oyters on Mondays. Yes! Crawfish are almost as good as my brothers and he wins in cookoffs all around so that’s a compliment. It’s always packed and there’s always a wait on crawfish nights but like I said this is really the only ligit seafood place we have to pick from. Yummy etufee. Fast friendly service. Good times

In order to avoid the Valentine’s Day nuts, my wife Peggy and I decided to stop in a day early. Peggy, being a devout follower of Pescetarianism, opted for fish tacos. The plate came with black beans, which she didn’t eat, for obvious reasons. She said the tacos were delicious. She’d definitely have them again. I opted for the Boat Platter. It had 2 choices(much like you’re faced with in life) of seafood with fries, and black beans. I chose the shrimp diablos and catfish. The catfish was delicious. The diablos(Spanish for devils) were heavenly. I know the bible says you shouldn’t eat shell fish, but it also says you shouldn’t have tattoos, and Peggy has a couple that only me and her maker can see…(if you get my drift). That’s just a joke. What goes on in our house is private. I didn’t partake in the beans, for reasons better left unsaid. Though it didn’t matter. Those devilish diablos ripped my guts up like they were a losing lottery ticket. I didn’t stick around to try and see what the facilities looked like here. It was much too packed. I got my check and ran faster than a cheerleader on a Friday night to Amico Nave, where I figured I had a good shot of scoring some privacy. Excellent place to dine! Will be back!

Shipwreck Grill has cold beer, college girls and some of the cheapest food of any«seafood restaurant» i have ever visited and having been born in New Orleans I have visited some of the finest. I really don’t know why I go there. Maybe it is because of the fading hope that it will get better, afterall it does have a bar that is shaped like a ship or should I say a boat. The food: oysters-the absolute tiniest-they should be called oyster sliders gumbo-as bland and tasteless as a bowl of Campbell’s chicken gumbo Tilapa-cooked any way bland-haven’t they heard of sea bass or redfish shrimp-mealey-they should be boiled to order not a day ahead of time Crawfish-cooked any way étouffée or boiled-yuck bland Get the picture! The owners of this place should be ashamed. They are in it solely for the money. They don’t waste money on things like spices or quality ingredients. It’s their good fortune they are in a college town far away from real seafood. They would quickly sink if were located anywhere near the gulf coast or heaven forbid New Orleans.

We were on our way to another restaurant when we happened to pass by Shipwreck. The live music and outdoor seating provided a great casual vibe to a family of five on a Saturday night so we decided to check it out. What I love about the place: 1. Boudin balls and scrumptious sauce — I can eat this all night while drinking beer 2. Apple, walnut, grilled shrimp salad with raspberry vinaigrette — inexpensive and delicious 3. Grilled chicken with provolone and vegetables — the rice was watery and bland but everything else was perfectly cooked(I would order this again!) 4. We sat with 3 teen-age kids in the bar area and were served super-quick on a busy night. 5. Very friendly staff What I didn’t like so much: 1. it wasn’t clear how we were supposed to get seated. Caught them on a super busy night(TAAF Games of Texas weekend) and had to flag someone for seats. 2. Not enough seats in the outdoor area where they had great live music Overall, I would go back here again preferably sit outside and enjoy the live music.

Place was ok, sat on the outside patio! It would have been nice had they had the music up a bit! I tried the boudin balls which were super good! The waitress was friendly and attentive! Will definitely go back again.

I’m giving this place 4 stars because of two appetizers that I love… the Diablo bites(shrimp wrapped in jalapeño and bacon… mmmm!) and the boudin bites(balls…). I’ve had the crawfish étouffée… which is good… not the best I’ve ever had… but probably the best in College Station. The server was really nice and helpful as well. $ 2 fish tacos on Wednesdays. It’s definitely not a fancy place… more a hole in the wall feel… you can sit at the bar if you want to be on the«ship.»

The last time I went to Shipwreck, I had their Grilled Fish Tacos, which were wicked good: Corn Tortillas with Grilled Fish, lettuce, cheese, cilantro and onion mix, green tomatillo salsa and Shipwreck Sauce. Spicy and flavorful, leaving me want to order them again tonight. Instead, I made myself try something new and was glad I did. This visit, I tried the Blackened fish Grand Isle: Blackened Talapia smothered in our award winning crawfish étouffée, served with grilled veggies, a side salad and french bread. It was delicious and a very light yet satisfying meal.

I usually go here on Mondays for the 50 cent oysters. I would advise to go around 11:30 when it’s less crowded.

It looks like a boat! And has seafood! I’ve driven by this place more times than I can count and have been wanting to stop by to see if they talk like pirates when they take your order. Spoiler: they don’t, but I would gladly welcome it in the future. I went on Wednesday for the Fish Tacos special for only $ 2.00 per taco. Yes, you could probably find a cheaper fish taco at a hole in the wall in Bryan but I bet it won’t be as fresh as they are here. My first thought when entering the restaurant(coming aboard?) was that this place is smaller than it looks from the outside. We sat in the covered outdoor area in the sun which was nice. The outdoor seating is easily double what they have indoors. There was an additional deck seating but it was closed due to it being winter/cold outside. I would like to see the outdoor decks named, for example, I could have eaten on the poop deck(I love nautical themes). We were greeted by 3 servers upon entering and immediately seated. Everyone was friendly and they even had sweet tea. I had two fried and one grilled fish taco. They will bring out their Shipwreck house sauce with your meal if you ask. The fish was very fresh and the sauce added to the overall flavor. Another big plus was the napkins on every table — fish tacos tend to get messy. I preferred the fried but in general I prefer most of my food fried. They both taste very fresh and not«fishy/muddy.» I would definitely recommend visiting Shipwreck Grill on the days that they have specials. Mondays are Oysters, Tuesdays steak, and Wednesdays fish tacos. I’m not sure about other days. The price to food ratio is a little high otherwise. For two fish tacos + black beans would have cost $ 7.45, instead with the special I had 3 for $ 6. Not a bad deal at all. I’ll be sure to come back here in the future to try out their Po’ Boys and fried Catfish. If you want fresh seafood and to support a local business, try out Shipwreck Grill.
